Very dissatisfied with this provider. When he bid the job we told him we were on a very tight budget and could not afford for him to come back after we hired him and tell us that he needed more money, has he did on another project. He bid the job and told us if anything extra came up, he would cover it, no problem. He committed to have the job done in 1 week. He called the first day to say he didn't get started because of materials, called again 3 days later saying he had to use a different materials supplier and therefore didn't get his discount and had spent an extra $350 on materials, he then proceeded to request a "draw" on the bid of an additional $750. We told him no, the contract he drew up said 50% up front, which we gave him, and 50% at completion. At this point he had only done about 1/2 days work according to our neighbor who was watching the house. No word from him in days, porch unfinished and materials laying on the deck. Called a few days later to see if he was coming out to work because we needed to run into town and would leave the keys for him if needed, he said he was on his way. We got back from running errands, there was no work done on the porch and all the materials were gone. He then proceeded to call us and tell us that we treated him badly because we wouldn't give him the $750 and that he had given us a great bid and he choose to no longer work with us. The deck was never finished, materials we bought were taken while we were not home and we had to hire another contractor to finish the work. That contractor proceeded to show us how what was done on the deck was poorly done and if he had finished it and tried to shingle the roof, it would have been too much weight for the house due to the way it was built. Buyer beware when dealing with Oliver.
