There were three visits to complete the job. The first visit he measured the window and re-taped the open area to keep cold air out. The second visit he brought the glass he had ordered. He removed the broken glass and straightened the frame. He worked on putting the window in for one to two hours. He then stated that he had been sent the wrong glass and would re-order. He re-taped the open area again. He returned about 10 days later with another glass. This new glass worked and the job was completed. When asked for the bill, he said "your insurance will cover it". "Someone in his office would calculate the bill." (The size of the window was approximately 30 inches by 40 inches.) We told him our insurance would not cover this damage. We have a high deductible. He said "by law, the insurance company has to cover it, no deductible applies." When the bill arrived it was $937.33. Not itemized. Just a dialogue of what he had done., including "clean up mess, reapply blinds and drapery". He picked up some glass, let the blinds down, and folded a blanket that had been over the opening. His office was called to request an itemized statement. How much for the glass? How much for labor? We will be paying cash, no insurance. A week to 10 days later, the revised bill came. We were charged for three service calls @$65.00 each. Labor $390 (for 3 hours at the most). Materials, $280.89. Tax $7l.44.
Description of Work: Replaced window glass broken due to falling tree branch. Metal frame around glass was bent. He had to straighten the frame.
