I purchased a special on Angie's List for $99 for two hours of handyman service on 12/15/2015. There was several months of heavy rain and I waited until wooden screen was totally dry. On 5/31/2016 I called to make an appointment. Owner Jason Gravitt siad that he was swamped and couldn't fulfill the order by its expiration date but would honor it when he had additional time since I had already paid for the service. He came by in late June to see what the work entailed and to see what additional work I needed. He said he would email me an estimate. After several weeks I called and asked for the estimate. He said it had been emailed and must have gone to my spam folder which it had not. I asked him to send it again and gave him my email address again. Nothing came. I called and left a message on his phone that I needed the paid work done before Labor Day but no response. I called again and no response to my messages. I finally got through and he said he had been busy due to storm damage at his place but would be by to fulfill my request He said to resend my home address which I did on 8/25/2016 and that he would be here that week. I have yet to see Mr, Gravitt or get a phone call why he did not show up. At best Mr. Gravitt is a lousy businessman or an out right fraud. His ratings on Angies List were almost totally A's when I bought the package which makes those reviews totally suspect. I have written off my $99 and would never allow anyone of such suspect character on my property again.
Description of Work: Rewire and rehang mirror and stain & seal small air conditioning unit screen. Also a request for an estimate for additional work.

You are more than welcome to call and get a refund. I attempted over months to schedule your job. I put expiration dates on those because they are sold in the slow times. I am very busy not because I am a fraud but because we are one of the best in Dallas metroplex. I approved your refund in spite of it being expired by several months. There was never any work completed on your property and to Infer that my rating is not real is libelous.
Amaz-balls. It was a fluke that I found Jason. Jason and his team were great. I literally joined Angie's List JUST so I could leave a positive review. My kitchen is amazing. I can't say enough good things. Highly recommend. I'm a commercial property manager and I have high expectations. Jason met every challenge.

They moved the refrigerator from the kitchen and moved it back when they were finished. Removed all the damaged subflooring and replaced it with stronger material. Installed new oak laminate flooring in the kitchen/dining rooms and in the hallway. Replaced the baseboards and caulked everything. They even finished in two days instead of three as originally estimated. My sister now has a beautiful and level, I might add, floor in her kitchen/dining room. She said it was so nice to have one contractor that could repair both the subflooring and install the new flooring. It made it so much easier for her.

I apologize if I didn't call you back. I don't remember speaking to you but the holidays were pretty busy this year.
Jason's craftsmanship is superb!!! I live in a home built in 1956 and have a beautiful solid wood door. Ok, the beauty was under layers of paint and neglect but he also saw the beauty in what it could be...and he has the skill to make that happen! Too often there are 'handymen' who want to make small fixes but Jason is a skilled carpenter and I would highly recommend him. The door frame was crooked as the house foundation had settled and the area under the door would shift with periods of rain/dry weather. Not only did he restore the door, but he was able to fix this problem as well. He had to use a more modern feature to help with the gaping of the door, but he incorporated it well to go with the older look of the door. I am also impressed with Jason's creativity as he came up with a wonderful industrial finish for the door. The painters he used to help finish the work were also both professional and solid in their skill. If you have a project where you need true craftsmanship, I would call this professional carpenter for the job!!! He also gave me a great price to install pre-made cabinets over my washer/dryer as well as cut and install a cat door in the door leading to my garage. I was so glad he installed the cabinets because as with most older homes, the were surprises with the wall the cabinets were being hung on. But with his skill, he was able to securely fasten the cabinets and they look great! Rapid Remodeling is reliable and works with your schedule. The price was for the front door restoration was fair and comparable to other quotes however, I choose Rapid Remodeling as he actually listened to me and discussed the project with me. When he returned to do the actual work, he remembered me and what we had previously discussed. I did not feel pressured to that I was being 'sold' additional work as I have felt with other contractors/handymen. I will definitely use Rapid Remodeling again! -Kamie

Jason did a few projects and even noticed some things that needed done that we had not even noticed. He was punctual and very professional. I am so glad that I now know who to call and get my "honey do" jobs done. I have a honey at home, but getting those projects done timely...well it just doesn't happen. What I liked mostly is that he came up with solutions to a problem, he didn't just leave it if it for the sake of time. He's like Macguyver!
Description of Work: Fixed two doors that wouldn't close; door knob on my front door that had not been put on properly by husband; cabinet door in bathroom that has been off for a a couple of years; and a light fixture.
He was very pleasant and professional. He had to make a trip to Lowe's to get parts for closet doors which they no longer had. He was able to come up with some makeshift parts for these doors. I had some foundation work the year before and my front door and back doors were not fitting properly anymore. He fixed these beautifully. I will use him again.
Description of Work: I used him for a whole day. He repaired closet doors and front door and back door fits, replaced an outdoor light, hung a heavy picture and a new mailbox.
Working with Jason was a great experience. I wanted a kitchen that was made for cooking as well as hanging out with the cook. One wall needed to come down and the 80's style drop down ceiling had to go. A complete gut was the only way to go. I went to the super expensive interior design studios and took some pictures of things I liked. Jason was able to find high quality cabinets at a fraction of the price. He really hit the nail on the head. Once the cabinets were shipped, demolition began. The floor became an issue since our old tile was stuck down so hard it took a jack hammer. Since the slab was all dented, we'd need to level the floor, so I thought it would be cool to do concrete instead of tile. Jason thought about it and liked the idea and he hunted down a subcontractor. I'm really happy with the final result. The counters and backsplash tile were exactly what I wanted. The centerpiece is a rolling butcher block island that Jason built from scratch. It replaced an old heavy boxy island. The new island is nimble enough to move around the kitchen as needed. The craftsmanship is amazing. It's really a beautiful and functional piece. To add a little flair, an artist friend and I got together with Jason to design a rusted steel vent-a-hood cover. This wasn't all planned ahead, it just evolved through dialog. That was the best part of working with Rapid Remodeling, everyone in the crew (Josh and Israel) was very artistic and we thought along the same lines. The end result was a collaboration that far exceeded the original design. And as an added bonus, the crew even let our dogs out while we were away. They are all dog lovers, that's a good thing!

This was my third time using Jason and his crew for a project (I previously spent close to $10,000 with him through a master bathroom complete remodel and replacing ceramic tile w/ travertine throughout my entire downstairs), and as usual, everything went smoothly, the results were fantastic, and Jason made sure the price was right. I will continue to direct all of my home improvement needs directly to Jason and Rapid Remodeling...he is honest, hard working, and does the job with pride - hard traits to find in today's cutthroat contractor landscape. I highly recommend his services and/or at least a bid on ANY project you may have in mind. If he can do it, he'll do it right. If he cannot, he'll be honest and won't learn on the job (and will likely have a good referral as well)...though I've found that services he cannot do are few and far between (A/C repair, etc.). Thanks again Jason!

Provider failed to show up for service appointment and did not return multiple phone calls. Angie's List would not return money spent on deal, so I kept trying to reach provider. After a few weeks, I heard back and understand the provider was injured in an accident. We arranged a new date and time, and the provider agreed to make an exception to deal terms to perform service on a Saturday. The rest of my experience was positive. Provider showed up on time, was polite and helpful, and did a good job. I would use this provider again, despite initial problems.

This deal was my guilt payment. I had originally intended to use Jason for a lot of work on the 1980's house I bought recently. He was very responsive about coming to the house and giving me an evaluation of a couple of issues that cropped up during the house buying process. We then had back and forth email and text communications regarding the laundry list of things that needed to be done. Unfortunately, it seemed we never had a total meeting of the minds about the statement of work* so I went in another direction. It's possible he was relieved, but I don't know. In any case, he was very pleasant to deal with, and I felt bad about the time he had spent going to the house and giving input so bought this deal to pay him for it. *My business background has made me very cautious about verbal agreements

Thank you for the review. I always do work with a written contract. The issue arises when we want everything itemized and broken down in line item for price. I give "bulk" discounts for more work, so what happens is we give you a discount for the entire job and then you start shopping and cutting out work which absorbs the discount I offered. I apologize if you thought I wanted a verbal agreement I would think that if things were nailed down and you told me exactly what you wanted me to do and whether you wanted materials separated from labor I could've nailed down a scope and given you a proper estimate as I've done for hundreds of customers in the past. Thank you and good luck.

Communication was good in getting details of the job up front. They showed up on time and got to work. They hit a few snags in the job as this is an older home but they worked through them. That is why it took a little more time and money than originally estimated. I was very pleased with their attention to detail and doing the work right. I plan to call them again for future jobs.

It went well. In about an hour's worth of time Jason and his assistant were able to get the doors working, about four doors. Also fix a closet cabinet and bi-fold door and pointed out plumbing not done correctly in a bathroom sink repair and other items that need to be fixed before putting the house on the market.
Description of Work: Jason fix the front door so that it closed right and also fixed some other doors that were not latching correctly. We had carpet removed and the closet shelves were not working right and Jason fixed it. We want to put our house on the market in October and hoping Jason will be able to return soon to do a pre-inspection repairs. They are quick and do a good job.

It was excellent service. The only thing I didn't care of is that 2guys came for one hour instead of 1 guy for 2 hours. This normally doesn't matter except I had one more project for them to do but there was only 12 min on the clock and said they couldn't do it in time. However, if I had only one guy then he would have been there for almost another half hour and would have been able to complete the project. Since this was a one man job and could have been done in that amount of time.

This was my second project with Jason and Rapid Remodeling. Several months ago he remodeled my master bathroom, and I was extremely pleased with the quality of his work and his overall ease of conducting business. I also left an extensive review detailing my satisfaction here on Angie?s list. We were not planning on this project at all, which was replacing almost 500 feet of old ceramic 12x12 inch tile with new 18x18 inch travertine throughout our kitchen, front entry, laundry room, bath, and under stairs. However, after our previous experience with him, we decided to go ahead and do it. As expected, we received another flawless product, with amazing detail. I praised his ability to never split tiles in our bathroom around difficult corners (he will cut the tiles into all sort of geometric shapes to fit the shape of the walls and to go around doorways, and will NOT take the easy way out and simply cut a tile in two to make the job easier, which is a much more common method). But what was really different and really impressive about this job was his accountability. As expected as the general contractor, Jason has to leave the job site from time to time leaving his workers on site. One particular day his crew stayed and laid about 200 feet of tile during the day. Jason showed back up at the site and apparently was not happy with the job they did (apparently, my walls do not turn at 90 degree angles, and if this was not accounted for then the grout lines did not run parallel). What would most contractors do? Rig it and figure out a way to make it ?acceptable.? Not Jason. He texted me, apologized for their mistake, and by the time I got home from work had completely ripped up the new floor his guys had just finished, and bought all new tile on his dime to refinish the job to his standards. Are you kidding? Sure, this set them back a day on the project, but I?m willing to bet that whatever margin he had built into the project was decimated by his accountability to do the job RIGHT. There was no haggling about it on my part?I never even saw what the issue was as he fixed it before I even asked! This was fine by me, and earned a higher level of respect from me than I already had for him. All in all, I?ve now spent about $12,000 over 2 jobs with Jason, and have many more plans. Any of these people giving him bad reviews over an $89 no show or something that they cancelled must either be joking or just be one of the people you cannot please?this guy is the real deal and is a legitimate contractor that take PRIDE in his work?something you don?t find too often anymore. Any real reviews where work was actually performed support this FACT. I also mentioned this in my last review, but his communication is unmatched?no waiting hours for a response. My texts are typically responded to within minutes. Thanks again Jason, and we?ll be in touch!
