This has been a very unpleasant experience. We paid Rudy Rodriguez $54,500 to put an addition on our house. He did not complete the job, he does substandard work, he doesn't fix what is brought to his attention, he gives various excuses as to why he can't start sometime as scheduled, he doesn't return calls, he doesn't show up for work, he only works a few hours, he takes all forms of shortcuts, and he uses the wrong materials for the job. We have had to pay another contractor to remove the little work he did and start from scratch. Since our dealings with Rudy Rodriguez, we have found other people that have used him and each has given the same story: he does very litttle for the money, doesn't show up for work, and gets disrespectful to the homeowner. He requires half up front and then weekly installments. We paid as he requested. He did no work on our house for almost 3 weeks after we paid him up front. Then he came by to tell us he had everybody lined up to get started that he had made all these deposits and would start on that Monday. We thought great now we are moving. Before I realized it I'd given him more money. Then that Monday came and went--very little work was done. No subcontractors ever showed up. He came again ans said he had had some difficulties and would then start on the next Monday. Once again, I found myself giving him more money. I told him then there would not be any more money until we saw work done. That was a useless point--we only had $1,500.00 remaining on "the contract". His response was "I won't get any more money". We did not see him for several weeks. Then he had other excuses as to why he didn't pour our concrete "our rock was to hard". Then when driveway got poured, we called a couple days later to tell him it had several cracks. He said he would fix it and never came back to fix it or anything else that wasn't done properly. We discovered where he lived and inquired as to when he planned on returning to finish our addition. He responded give me 2 weeks and I'll be finished with my addition. Yet he was putting a second story on his house. We asked why he didn't use the right materials on or house. He turned to his worked and asked him if he had used OSG board and worker answered no. Rudy said he would be at our house that afternoon. Nope he didn't show. A couple days later he and his worker came with a plumber. Plumber said he would need a permit. Rudy argued with him and then said he would have "his people do it then". My husband attempted to back plumber up by agreeing permit would be needed. Rudy told him to "go sit in the corner and I'll be with you in a minute". An argument ensued from there and Rudy and his worker left. We have filed a complaint with BBB and contacted local TV station to report dishonest contractor

Not good.
Description of Work: Rudy is a very friendly guy. His workers do good work, but we were supposed to have 10 workers but had 2 most of the time. We are now 8 weeks into a 3 week job. No one has worked the past 5 days. Rudy also does not answer the phone or return calls. Would not recommend him.

We did a large remodeling project last year. The experience was horrible. The seams didn't match, the widths were different and the colors were off. In the beginning, I was willing to work with him because mistakes happen. He then started threatening me, telling me he was going to place a lien against my home and being very defensive. The general contractor even had to call the police to make Rudy leave my home during an argument. I am currently attempting to collect the money I spent on my granite countertops through small claims court but he continues to file bankruptcy to delay/avoid it.
Description of Work: We hired Rudy to install granite countertops in my kitchen and bathrooms.

He didn't show up for appointments or return calls promptly. The mortar fell out 30 days after and he refunded to make good by just ignoring me.

Did not go well at all. The contractor did not stay on top of supervision of his crew. The job took a lot longer than it should have. The workmanship was sloppy and unexcusable. My wife and I spent over a 100 hours cleaning up overspray from his crew not using tarps, coverings, etc. Overspray was on the ceiling fans, fan blades, globes, light bulbs, mirrors, faucets, sinks, counter tops, all windows, doors, closet doors, the banister, the carpet, handles and pulls, kitchen cabinets, the sunroom doors and glass, commodes, shower doors and just about everything! Also after leaving the job we found out that they had forced a garage door shut and I had to have an overdoor company come out and fix it. We were never told about the garage door from the contractor. It was never mentioned.
Description of Work: Texturing, repairing holes, sheetrocking, blowing on accoustics, painting interior and parts of exterior of house.
