Our company was contacted by [Member Name Removed] to "Mow the front & back lawn as well as touch-up all the walls within the house with paint that SHE would supply". It was our understanding that I, Rent-a-Gent, would supply everything else needed to complete a PROFESSIONAL job. Everything from a lawn mower, gasoline, edger, weed-eater, bags, blower, towels, rollers, brushes, drop cloths, ladders, tape, AND any hand/power tools that may be needed to complete a PROFESSIONAL job. Upon arriving at 08:00am., I found that this was an unoccupied rental house with no one there to receive me. After having just driven 97 miles from well East of Dallas, I had hoped that [Member Name Removed] would have been there to greet me, have the doors open and brief me as to what she needed done. THIS is the standard practice my clients have taken over the past 18 years. Unfortunately, not [Member Name Removed]. The home was locked, uninhabited, and no electricity or Air Conditioning was offered. But, rather than wait around, I opted to not waste time and start the mowing of these lawns which were 10" in height! At 10:05 am., one "Jay Carreon" arrives onto the property, introducing himself as the "Sales Agent" to this property. When I inquired as to where [Member Name Removed] was, he had no answer. I continued my Contracted work outside as he had no keys and no way into the home. Later he would return with new keys allowing me into a hot, unlit house. The paint provided never matched the walls I was asked to "TOUCH UP", so I took it upon myself to paint all the interior walls. ALL of them. What would YOU have done? Waited until 2:15pm. when [Member Name Removed] strolls in while on her cell yelling at someone on the other end about why they aren't getting her a paying job? Evidently [Member Name Removed] has no income, ... how interesting. Over the 25 total minutes that [Member Name Removed] WAS in the house, she did nothing but complain about the conditions left by the previous tenant & the damage they left her with, sighting how much money she now had to put back into this house to sell it. A house that, after 3 months on the market, as of this writing, is still unsold. Ponder that. I mowed & cleaned up the entire exterior of the home, painted all walls, washed the base boards, removed all 13 Venetian blinds per Agents' request, AND made needed repairs to the kitchen's faucet so the it could actually be used and the home, in turn, sold. I came ready with everything needed to provide a PROFESSIONAL job, as I always do. After 8.75 hours of quality, diligent work, (with no lunch taken), having driven 97 miles to a location where a "local" kid could have completed the job, [Member Name Removed]'s entire bill came out to $395.18. To date, this amount has never been paid to me, as she said it would. Being that I am always paid at the end of the day by either cash or personal check, not that day. You see, [Member Name Removed] was not there to pay. She slipped out through the garage while I continued the work she contracted me to provide. After all the work I was contracted to provide, AND MORE, was done, I filmed the entirety of the job to demonstrate my quality work so that people like [Member Name Removed] would have no leg to stand on should "something happen" and I not get paid, an occurrence that only ONCE, back in 2006, happened. After that, I learned. Today, [Member Name Removed] stands out as only TWO of the clients that have ever shafted "Rent-a-Gent" Company when it came to paying for an other-wise quality service. .... photos upon request, ....
