PICTURE PERFECT REMODELING

It was a disaster. There were problems between the first painter and the owner of Picture Perfect (David) and we were put in the middle of an very uncomfortable situation. (That was why we used contractors - we only want to deal with one person. The second painters work was a disaster. The texturing ruined the light in the bathroom, all vents, all outlets and the shower curtain. The bathroom wall texturing was so thick it had to be sanded down and it's still quite thick. The wall paper wasn't remove correctly and the texture was done over the wall paper glue. (The owner of the company said, that was unacceptable for bathrooms and that Picture Perfect removed the paste before re texturing - that this was especially important to do in bathrooms.) There was texture under the sink - like the door had been opened and the texture splattered inside the cabinet. The sink and the bathtub both had solidified yet supple paint in the drains. The painter washed equipment in the sink rather than outside with the garden hose. The estimate for this work was $2,000. When the owners came to look at the work (two weeks after the 2 -3 day job was started), the wife was astounded. She made the statement that the decision was ours to make regarding the outcome of this job (i.e., Picture Perfect repair all the damage or they were dismissed from this job). We terminated the business relationship that afternoon and after some heated conversation with David, the invoice was canceled and money did not exchange hands. After I signed the proposal I noticed that he didn't have the light fixture work in the proposal and he said don't worry my word is my bond. Now that the cabinets are done he won't come back and fix the lights. The last time I talked to him he said he would call me back in a few minutes and I have still not heard from him.
