Initial work was done on time, friendly owner, work seemed to be well done. However, when we discussed replacing plants that had died under their plant guarantee program, there was a charge for delivery, a charge for material, a charge for consultation and cost estimates and a planting charge for each plant.(for example $342.00 to plant 9 plants) The cost of using their replacement program was,in my mind, very excessive.

She was organic and she was recommended. When we went to the nursery, there was a personal recommendation. When she said she was going to be there on the day she was there and she may not be in time like we were having a lot of construction and stuff like that and we had actually experienced the same day that we were like getting where we needed to be the first of them and set unexpected construction. She came that day and she said she will. I think their price was high.

Connie Cates never called me back.

I have been very pleased with their service and I would recommend them. They show up when they say they will, and they provide all the services I ask for. Nothing is left undone. They are knowledgeable about care of plants and grasses. They use natural, eco-friendly products whenever possible. I also like that they communicate by email as well as phone, and they accept payment electronically. I will keep using them as long as I live in this area.

It is organic so it is a little more expensive than the others but I think that it is relatively competitive. The owner is very personable and they are very straightforward and very honest. They follow through. They get done what the start. This is my first home experience and first owning a yard experience so they don't make fun of the fact that I don't know much and they are very patient with my questions and things like that.

Connie and her crew did a great job, we were very pleased.

We had major work done in March. Their service is phenomanal and their plaintings are guarenteed for a year. They've now been out twice since March just to check up on the plants and she said she would be back later in the fall again just to check up. There has been no charge for the follow. They are incredibly nice and are just outstanding people.

Connie responded quickly after a phine conversation of my needs and what her company could provide we set up an appointment for Connie to come out and see my property. Connie's plan was well thought out and thorought. He plan addressed my goals as well as suggestions that I had not thought of. Her plan came within the budget I had planned. Her company has been prompt with their services, fertilization, lawn care etc. It has been a great experience.

Connie is very knowledgeable about plants, jars and all that stuff but in the last month their billing procedure are still unorganized and I was filled for services not briefly and she made a verbal deal with me about a budget and went over it and so required or requested that I pay her for it.

I contacted Connie @ EarthWise at the end of January 2013 and she had an opening for a consultation within a week so we met in early February. We viewed the yard and then discussed options and services to achieve the desired outcome. Connie answered my many questions and made suggestions. We agreed on some initial property cleanup and the next day she e-mailed an estimate for the cleanup as well as a lengthy list of plantings for me to consider. The initial cleanup and soil test was accomplished the following week. Connie also recommended an arborist for our concerns about our trees. I had hoped the next phase (flower bed prep and lawn treatments) could begin soon after but there was a delay in getting the soil test results. We also were trying to coordinate the arborist's services and a partial fence replacement. For those reasons, plus inclement weather and EarthWise's previously-scheduled clients, the flower bed work did not get done until the end of April. Throughout this time Connie and I communicated by e-mail so I understood what turf treatments and soil amendments would be needed to attain a healthy, pleasing landscape. In the meantime, EarthWise began residential contract services for lawn maintenance and flower bed fertilization. Though we had a miscommunication about the begin-service date and the weekday to be scheduled, EarthWise worked with me to accommodate my scheduling needs. At this time of year we are on a weekly mowing schedule and the service contract is working out very well. It was a wonderful day when we finally had the flower bed work completed! There was a slight misunderstanding about the placement of some plants but Connie and her crew are very flexible to work with; they moved plantings to satisfy this customer (as well as adding some sod installation to the job order on fairly short notice). EarthWise provided written watering instructions for all the new plantings and has been available to answer questions about concerns for specific plants. I listed April 25 as approximate date of service because that's when a great deal of work was done; however, we are on a yearly service contract for lawn maintenance so dates of service are ongoing. For the same reason, the cost of service is difficult to summarize (but is also a required field) so I will state as follows: All initial non-service contract work totaled approx. $3,000 (this included labor, hauling, delivery, testing, soil, several soil amendments, and sod - I purchased plants separately). My lawn service contract is approx. $250/mo. (along with regular mowing, etc., this also includes all flower bed mulch, flower bed fertilizer, turf pre-emergent, fungus treatment, and fertilizer, and fall leaf removal). I rate EarthWise 'Good' (as opposed to 'Excellent') for price because it is in the higher range for lawn care, but it is all organic and I don't think it is out of line for the product and knowledgeable service provided. I rate everything else as 'Excellent' because it has been a pleasure to deal with EarthWise; Connie and her crew have a great attitude, they get the job done, and are flexible when changes are requested.

Hello All, I would like to share my experience with EarthWise. When I spoke to Connie for the first time, I found her very helpful and informative. She explained the process and what to expect using organic products. After speaking with her I felt confident and decided to move forward with her services. Needless to say after that, it was a totally different story. As soon as I got my estimates, I noticed she was charging me $12.00 to bill me!!! That was the first time I've ever been billed to be billed. So, when I called her up to discuss the charge, first thing she says to me is that she has "Never had a Customer Before" question that. Well, that right there should have made me wonder what kind of company this was. She agreed to remove the charge and I agreed to the services. The first time of service was on 3/4 where she came out and treated for weeds, mowed the yard and applied pre-emergent and fertilizer. After a couple of days, I noticed that a lot of weeds were not dying and called Connie. I explained that I had quite a few weeds still and that the first application didn't take care of all of the weeds like it should have. She said that she would send one out to retreat. During that phone call, I told her I did not need the grass to be mowed since it's still winter time and not growing and that I would let her know when to resume the mowing. She agreed. So on 3/19 they came out again to re-treat for weeds and several days later I got my first bill. Wow what a surprise! Not only did she charge me for another mowing, but charged me for retreating the weeds that should have been taken care of the first time. Last Sunday 3/24, I went around my yard and took pictures of the MANY living weeds still in my yard. Today 3/26, I called Connie to let her know that she was charging me for an extra mowing and that for over $200 I still have weeds in my yard. And when I told her I would send pictures, and she became argumentative. She on several occasions stated "she's Never had a Customer Before that".... And when I told her she is making me feel like a difficult customer when I'm being billed over $200 and still have a yard full of weeds, she then turns around and says one more time that "She's Never had a Customer Before" that she had to explain all of this to. At that point, I told her that she is not the company I want to continue to do business with and parted ways. I work hard for my money and expect to receive satisfactory results for services that I pay for. I also expect to pay for services rendered. Yet, I don't expect a company to argue with me, make me feel bad because I'm not happy with the results, expect to pay for cancelled services and being billed for something that should have been done right the first time. Beware! I will send pictures if necessary!

Though the company is not taking new clients at this time, Honey spent time listening and advising me on things I could do. Honey seemed very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her work. She referred me to her website and encouraged me to contact her again if I had further questions. I am hopeful she will be able to add me to her client list in the future.

She never showed up, so there was no service.

Despite the great ratings on Angie's list, I contacted the company three times, via e-mail twice and phone once. Each time, I provided or left a detailed message with call back info and yet never received a call back. Very frustrating and too bad also, because it looks like when they actually do work, they do a great job. I just think it's unprofessional to not even return an e-mail or a phone call. When you're busy, you can choose who you call back and when but, that's not how I think one should conduct business.

I contacted this provider to set up meeting for lawn work as well as getting a tree installed. She responded with an available time, but I wasn't available. I replied back with another possible day, and I never heard back. So I followed up. In her response she said " I am sorry but usually do not respond when I can't get them set right away." So because I could not accommodate her immediate request, she completely ignored me. I didn't even get a change to see the quality of her work because I couldn't wield to her schedule.

She told me to call back the next day at 8:30am because she would have things to take care first thing not caring about my schedule. I asked for a base price (which goes off of square footage) and when she could have it cut. She proceeded to tell me next week, or this week depending on the size. I told her I was hoping for tomorrow or the following day. She cut me off to say no. I said, excuse me. She said no. No she wouldnt be able to get to it. Talk about rude customer service and an unwillingness to be flexible with individuals who work. The lady did not have to answer the phone and I would assume if they did they would be accepting about answering generic questions related to a service they provide on a daily basis. The request was not to come out after working hours. The request was to put me on the schedule to come out and provide me with an estimate or call me back with a time that would suite them. I should not have to try back when I would have gladly left a message on their answering service. This was in no was requesting a personal service (although in business, you should make if feel personal and not like a cattle call of people annoying you while having a terrible bedside manner). This company received an F due to the lack of professionalism. They also received an F in puctuality due to the fact that it would take several days for a quote and "at least a week" to start the service. If you are not a service for anything other than moving into organics, then the types of services you state you provide are grossly misrepresented. This is not the potential customers problem. This has to do with the individual keeping up with Angies List being sneaky. Good luck finding great customers with that philosophy.

Amazing from start to finish! She has also stayed in contact beyond completion of the job!

We contacted Connie through Angie's List (sent an email), and she called to set up a meeting. She came by our house and looked around the yard with me. We discussed many possibilities, including mowing/edging/weedeating, fertilizing with natural vs chemical products, and landscaping. We decided that I will continue with the company who is currently fertilizing our lawn this year, but use EarthWise for lawn maintenance. Connie is very pleasant to talk to, and seems very knowledgeable. She explained how having the same company mowing your lawn and fertilizing your lawn can be beneficial, because they walk your lawn every week and can see when problems arise. I can see the benefit of that, and may switch to their fertilization program next year. For now, Connie's daughter Danielle and another man come once a week to mow the lawn, and do a great job. They are careful to ask me about what I want to leave (e.g. newly growing plants that may look like weeds), and always clean up, leaving the yard looking very nice. When a stone was thrown accidentally by a weed eater into our sliding glass door, shattering it, Danielle was immediately on the phone to Connie. They got hold of their insurance company, and within weeks the door was repaired, good as new. The $155 noted above was for one full month of lawn care. Update: No longer using this service because their billing cycles were inconvenient. Instead of waiting until the month was over, and then billing for the total number of service visits, they would send a bill a week or two before the end of the month and charge me for what they thought would be the total number of visits for the month. Sometimes they would only need to come twice or three times in a month, but would bill me for more, causing me to have to adjust the bill. A secondary reason for not using them any more is that they destroyed two soaker hoses (each on a separate occasion). Instead of moving them before mowing or weed-eating, they would try to work around them, I guess. Connie did offer to pay their replacement cost, if I provided them with the ruined hoses. Because of their willingness to work with me on my various issues, and the quality of the service they performed (the yard always looked very nice and tidy after their visits), I might consider hiring them again if they updated their billing practices.

They were very professional and very knowledgeable. They ended up saving me a lot of money.

She never called back and we were very disappointed because they had a great Angies List rating.

i contacted this company about having them come out and do a consultation on my yard. I emailed back and forth with one of the owners a few times trying to schedule a time. I sent her the last email trying to narrow down a date and never heard from her again. I'm disappointed because I was very excited by what I had read on their website.

The Crew, led by Danielle, arrived at 9:00 AM sharp with enthusiastic smiles and began to handle our oversized lawn, which had been heavily infested with various types of weeds. They worked very efficiently and methodically to mow, bag, edge, trim and blow-sweep all areas, and then applied the pre-emergent. Both Danielle and fellow worker were very cordial. The lawn was left with an excellent appearance in a relatively short time, for a very fair price! The owner is very knowledgable and is always easy to reach by either email or telephone, and offers very practical advice on how to enhance lawn maintenance between their visits. This company is highly recommended!
