+ -1 moreThey broke an antique foot board of a bed and hid it. They broke an old clock, a crate of stained glass, which was over 100 years old and didn't say anything. They gouged the front door jamb. They didn't set up all of the beds. They couldn't fit everything on the 2 trailers. We had to go back for that stuff, Which was 75 miles. They tore off molding on mirrors. I sent the business a complaint on their website and crickets. I had used them twice before and had no problems. Never again.

+ -1 moreThey arrived within 10 minutes of projected time. Everything was professionally wrapped and moved. I could not believe how quickly everything was done! The four workers worked well together, and were all very considerate and polite. As long as this company is in business, I will never use anyone else. I had used them on two other occasions, and with complete satisfaction. Also, I am a worrier and every time I called with a question, Gene Hitzfelder returned the call within minutes.
Description of Work: Moved furniture from home to storage, then moved more furniture to another house.

Description of Work: Gabriel one of the team members asked personal questions regarding my move that were inappropriate and non his business. He left part of the bedframe for my sons' bed claiming he thought it went with another bed in another room that was neither taken apart and which they had been told was not leaving. But instead of asking left the center support to the bed behind. From the start he gave me a consistent hard time about putting two beds back together "since we didn't take them apart." He was often on his phone wasting my time and money. After he was given the bolts to the bed by me, he left them downstairs and got into a discussion with the team lead, Jessie, about the bolts. Upon entering the bedroom as requested to discuss the situation; Jessie refused to let me even speak to explain that the bolts were here and they were placed in the top drawer of the chest of drawers and I had just gotten them myself and given them to Gabriel. Jessie repeatedly interuppted me before I could even say two words to explain that. I finally had to say to him "You are being very rude and keep interrupting me and are not letting me even get two words out to explain what happened." " You need to quit talking and let me finish what I am saying." They did not put the beds completely together because they didn't even go help the other fellow put the trundle day bed together for my daughter. After I paid the bill AND tipped them; I called the next day to explain what happened with the owner. He offerred a token discount and said he would have Jessie call me. I refused any monetary reimbursement. Jessie called later that day and offerred to go get the missing part for the bed and bring it back. I refused this too because I refused to be further bullied by those men. They promptly cashed both checks. And I never heard another word from the owner if things were satisfactorily resolved. In unpacking later I discovered several scratches to my wood fruniture. A whole bag of expensive cloth covered hangers is still missing and the support for an expensive lamp shade to my floor lamp is no where to be found, even though I handed it to Jessie myself. I have not even bothered to contact them regarding these issues due to the very poor and unprofessional experience I had with them. I felt they , particularly Gabriel, were bullying. I was moving myself and my children out of an abusive home and it was none of his business if I was "moving alone or with my husband" as he had the audacity to ask me at the start of the move. Whatever his issues are I nor any paying customers should be subject to his judegment and thus treated the way I was. I suggested to the owner that his best move to prevent further issues was to get rid of Gabriel as he seemed to be to trouble maker. I refuse to further deal with this company for those reasons and will replace and fix the items they lost and messed up. They don't respect nor treat women with appropriate customer service.

+ -1 moreThe crew arrived on time and immediately went to work, bringing items from each of the units to pack onto the truck. The truck they brought was heavy duty, with a large/long fifth wheel moving trailer rather than a box truck. Due to our driveway and overall terrain, this was an excellent choice as they were able to maneuver down our very long and challenging driveway...where a normal moving truck would not have had any success. Once at the house, they quickly and efficiently unpacked the truck, moving everything into it's designated locations. They were very attentive to placing items where we wanted them and were very careful...no breakages from the packing, moving, or unpacking. Finally, the crew was professional, friendly, and I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: After purchasing a house, we needed to move the contents of multiple storage units in New Braunfels to the house in Bulverde. One 10x20 unit was packed floor to ceiling with boxes; while the remaining (and oddly shaped) items were scattered between two other units, located in different parts of the same storage facility.

+ -1 moreI contacted the company on a Monday and they came on Thursday. A friend of mine had given me their name as they had moved him several years ago. When I found the same name on Angie's list with all positive reviews, that sealed the deal for me. The movers arrived on time, and went to work. One hour later they were ready to drive to our new address. They did not take a break and worked fast. Everything arrived fine, no scratches, dents, etc. I was in the military for 27 years and this was my 20th move. While it was the shortest distance, it was also the best. I can highly recommend this company...great job. (This move was done from one of the addresses listed with 'Angie's' to the other address listed. The form does not allow me to mark both.)
Description of Work: Moved some of the heavier items that we were unable to move.

+ -1 moreHitzfelder is an excellent moving company. They were where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there, they didn't damage anything, they were very careful in the move and they did it very expeditiously. They were a little expensive but it was worth it.

+ -1 moreI am so impressed with Hitzfelder Moving. We have some antique furniture that could break easily and they were very careful with it and nothing was broken or messed up. Our new home is on stilts on the river and everything had to come up the stairs - I did not hear any complaints or negative comments while they were unloading at the new house. The crew worked quickly and when we offered to get lunch for them, they declined politely and went on working! I was impressed that most of the furniture was padded and protected, thus we had no damage.
Description of Work: We moved from a small house in New Braunfels to a larger, two story home in Seguin. We packed our own boxes and Hitzfelder came and moved everything in our house into their truck and then unloaded it and placed it in our new house.

+ -1 moreArranged to move us, even though I had to change the date several time. They were supposed to move us at 11:30, but called around 10:00 to say they would be able to come earlier. They were at the house by 10:30, and those three guys worked fast, were VERY professional and friendly. Ended up taking truckloads to our new home, 3 miles away.
Description of Work: Moved all our heavy furniture and what boxes we had ready to go.

+ -1 moreMoved a large 4 bdrm household from San Antonio to Mico, TX. Although, the price includes travel time from New Brunfels, TX to the house, the services were well worth the extra cost. These guys really do hustle and they take tender care of your household goods, especially those very fragile items. Because we moved into a new house, the dryer "pig tail" had to be changed, I had the item and the mover kindly offered to change it out for me. I was especially impressed with each person's professionalism and work ethic. I'm glad I used Angie's list to find these guys...they took very good care of us!

+ -1 moreWe chose Hitzfelder on a whim, simply because we saw his trucks driving around town. It was good guess though, because they did a wonderful job. They didn't damage any of our belongings, or furniture. The entire job was complete in one morning, and the movers had excellent behavior, as well as a strong work ethic.
Description of Work: They transported all of our possessions on a one and half mile move. The bill was calculated by weight.

+ -1 moreThis was not a very long trip, and the move went very smoothly. There was no damage to the furniture, and they helped arrange some of the larger items in our new home. The movers were all polite, and patient with us. The move took only one morning, and the Gene offered a price that was half as much as anyone else we contacted.
Description of Work: Gene A Hitzfelder Moving transported almost all of our possessions on a ten-mile move. They transported all furniture, kitchenware, and large items.

There was not any damage to the furniture, and they helped us arrange the larger items in our new house. If we have another local move Hitzfelder is the company we will call.

They were careful with the items we valued the most, and used plenty of extra padding. The move took all day, and went almost perfectly. None our furniture was scratched or dented and they assisted us once we arrived at our destination.
Description of Work: They moved our personal property to our new house, a fifteen-mile trip. They used two trucks and four men.

+ -1 moreIf you live in New Braunfels, Hitzfelder is the company to use on any local move. Most people we know who have moved, have used their services, and there is a good reason for that. They are prompt, polite, and work very hard. They also try to treat our property with great care. We did not have a large volume to move, but it was still ours, and they understood that. The move lasted less than a half of a day, and we were settled in our new home.
Description of Work: They moved the majority of our large items, such as furniture and outdoor equipment. The move was six miles.
