I called Doc Wally's and left a voicemail regarding fixing my lawnmower and my suspicions about it being a carburetor . He put me on the schedule that same day for early the next week. He sent a text message the night before reminding me he would be over. He called about 45 minutes before his arrival to let me know his GPS put him at 40 minutes away. He showed up as scheduled. He cleaned the inspected the lawnmower , cleaned the carburetor, sharpened the blades, and did something so that it would start on the first pull!. Very happy and satisfied with the entire experience.

He arrived right on time. He completed a very thorough tune up of my lawnmower. The previous tune up was years before. He showed me how to clean out my air cleaner after every use of my lawnmower. I so enjoy when they not only do a fantastic job but they teach you something as well. Passing on that knowledge..... it's priceless!! Super service right at your own home!!!

AWESOME!! My husbands riding lawnmower had been giving us problems starting up, for quite some time. It would never start when the key was turned. It wanted to start, but would crank and crank and never really get going. We would end up lifting hood and literally hand crank turn the engine to get it going. My husband, who is much stronger than me, put up with that for years!!! It was always very difficult (AND FRUSTRATING) for me. I was finally at my wits end with the darn thing, when I made the decision, to try and get it serviced or just buy a new one!!! Our biggest dilema is that we do not own a truck or anything to tow it in for service, and of course buying a new one is very costly!! I turned to Angie's List for HELP!! I literally typed in "at home lawn mower repair..." and Doc Wally's immediately popped up!!! There was NO ONE ELSE like his service listed. I checked out his website and boy was I impressed!! Even though he is based out of New Braunfels, having him come service the lawn mower would be so much more economical than purchasing a new one. I called at 7:00 PM, got his voice message, left a detailed, desperate message and waited. When I didn't get a call back I called him back a couple of days later. Once again, I got his voicebox. This time, I gratefully got a call back. I explained my situation, and got an appointment for the next week! I was happy with the quick appointment time...it was spring and EVERYONE was doing the same thing I was....trying to take care of their homes, so I completely understood his being EXTREMELY busy, but managing to squeeze me in!! I was ever so grateful for the narrow window he gave me for my scheduled appointment, 11-1, only a 3 hour window compared to say, the ac man who wants an 8 hour am OR 8 hour pm window!!! Your whole day is spent waiting around for service!! NOT WITH DOC WALLY!! Made my appointment. I even got a confirmation/reminder call the day before my service!! Service day came and Doc Wally was right on time. Very professional and very informative. I will admit, I was a little surprised to see a car pull up instead of the big Doc Wally van pictured on his website. Doc explained that the truck was being repaired, but he still had all the parts & tools he needed to service our lawnmower. He immediately got to work and began the overhaul and servicing. Ony a short time later he showed me that over time the spark plugs move a bit and the connection can be hampered. With minor adjustments, the mower was cranking right up like it was SUPPOSED to!! He then went onto general servicing, oil chg, filter chg, replaced chipped mower blade, filed down another savable blade, leveled blades for more even mowing and other minor adjustments...all in all... Our mower was PURRING LIKE A KITTEN DRIVEN RIGHT OUT OF SHOWROOM!!! I was able to jump right on turn the key and VROOOOM! She starts right up for ME!!! (The way she should start up, with the turn of the key!!!) I am so happy with DOC WALLY'S service and would highly recommend his service to EVERYONE!!! WHY??? 1)He came to MY HOME!! 2) My appointment was pretty quick! Not like those service centers that make you wait to even talk to them, then take WEEKS to make repairs on even small tools/appliances. 3)Very professional...he knew EXACTLY what he was doing!!! 4) SHOWED me everythg that needed servcing or replacing BEFORE he did it. 5) Cost was pretty reasonable for all he did, especially the nominal service call to get to me!! DOC WALLY even has a 10%off your first visit coupon avail on his website. I had mine all printed up and ready to go but forgot to use it in all the excitement!! Don't forget to use YOURS!! I have his business card on my fridge and will not hesitate to call him again should I need to, as he repairs ALL types of household appliances!! THANK YOU DOC WALLY!!

I was very happy with his service. He came on time. He tuned up the mower that I couldn’t get it to start and he found that there was dirt in the line and he cleaned that out. It was all worth it than I thought. He came, worked for about an hour, he left and everything was fixed. He’s work is fine and the mower is still working. For coming to the home is a little more expensive than if I take my mower in but it is a lot more convenient. He came in the spring and if I take it anywhere in the spring, I’m waiting probably 2 or 3 weeks before they get it done. So, I think for a home call, price was reasonable. He worked fine and very responsive. I can’t remember how long it took him but the appointment was scheduled right away. I will use him again.

Doc Wally?s is now my go-to place for garden tractor repairs. Their card earned a place on my refrigerator, a space reserved for the best of the best. Darryl was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. When my tractor suddenly lost steering control, he accurately diagnosed the problem over the phone, sourced a repair part for my 15 year old machine, brought the part with him and had me mowing again in less than a week. Compared to Sears, where repair appointments routinely took six weeks and I had to supply the repair parts, just one call to Doc Wally?s solved my problem. The price was fair and the service was exceptional. Their card notes they also service washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators, riding mowers and small gas engines. The next time I need help with any of these, I?ll call Doc Wally?s. Highly recommended!

I called Doc Wally?s at 1:45 PM on Tuesday and got their voicemail. I saw that they had an online form to request service so I decided go that route instead of trying to explain the issue on voicemail. I submitted the form and got a call the next morning just before 8:00. Daryl told me he had an opening the same afternoon and could be out at about 3:00 PM and would call when he was on his way. He called at about 2:50 and apologized saying his previous appointment took longer than expected. He said he would be to my home at about 3:30, which he was. I explained the problem that the blade on my Craftsman lawn tractor was not engaging and that the lever was tight and had been getting worse. He said the mechanism commonly gets rusted and was probably the problem. He would have to remove the deck, clean off the rust, and lube it. He estimated the cost to be $160. He offered to sharpen the blades while he was at it. I agreed since I knew they needed sharpening. He finished the job about 45 minutes after arrival and explained everything he had done. In addition to the repairs and sharpening the blades, he added air to a low tire and brought in my trash can. The total charge was the original estimate of $160, so he did the blades for no extra charge. That?s not cheap considering there were no parts, but I think it was a fair price since it saved me the time and trouble of loading the mower on my trailer and hauling it somewhere and back. Daryl was friendly and professional and obviously knew what he was doing. The problem was exactly what he thought it was over the phone.

Doc Wally's came out and repaired our riding mower. I wish I could remember the service man's name, but he was awesome. I don't know much about riding mower's but he explained quite a bit to me, and even gave me a "tutorial." The mower we had was acquired when we purchased our house a few months ago, and so we had no idea what to expect. Not only did he get it running for us, but it's in great shape now. It needed a new choke cable and a carburetor cleaning. He was here for two hours! THANK YOU, DOC WALLY'S.

This service was definitely worth the it. There's no way I can take my riding lawn mower anywhere so I have to have it serviced at my house. The gentleman was helpful, answered all my questions and my lawn mower starts without any problems. I will definitely use this service again.

.The technician was punctual (on a Saturday morning) and very knowledgeable about what needed to be done and all parts he used. He worked for about an hour. For all that he did and time he spent the price seemed reasonable.

Darrel is a terrific guy, his whole shop is on his truck! Who knew you could actually have someone come to your house to repair your lawnmower and anything else mechanical that isn't working properly. He leveled my washer, which was why it was making all the noise...simple, but I would have never known that's all it was. He could have said it was bearings or any number of things - honesty...love it! My lawnmower blade was coming loose and that was causing the noise. He also sharpened the blade, changed the oil and the air filter, and also discovered the belt that makes the mower self propelled was frazzled. He was here a little over an hour. He really was a delight to work with, and we will use Darrel from now on for anything mechanical that isn't working well. I just can't recommend him enough.

The mower wouldn't start, even though I had replaced the sparkplug, air filter and had put fresh fuel in the tank. I had a difficult time finding someone to do at home service. I found Doc Wally at Angie's List and although it looked like he didn't serve my area in NW San Antonio, I contacted him and he was more than willing to assist me. He called my Tuesday evening to let me know about what time he'd be here, and again called me today when he was on his way. As I had back surgery last Summer and can't stand for long periods of time without wearing a back brace, I was able to observe him as he worked and we engaged in great conversation. I learned something about him, and he, about me. He explained as he went what he found, and what he did to clean the carburetor. I asked him if he'd consider returning early next year for a complete tune up and he assured me he will.

I have used this merchant on three occasions. The first time was the most difficult project. He repaired my riding lawn mower. I was happy with what he had done and the price seemed reasonable for all the work done ($210). When he left, he took with him a smaller lawn mower that needed a new blade. He said it would cost about a hundred dollars to fix. He did return a week later with the lawn mower, but said it would cost $144. My wife asked him to look at the dishwasher. The detergent dispenser was made of plastic and the latch was broken. He said he would order the part. He came back a week later with a new plastic dispenser, which he replaced in about 15 minutes and charged my wife $110 for the part and $113 for the labor, total of $223 the visit! I think that was unbelievable.

I had a couple pieces of lawn equipment that wouldn't run correctly. I called Doc Wally's In-Home Service to come look at them. He worked on them and got them all running for me. He does great work, I am very satisfied with the work he had done. His cost is little high because he comes to you to fix your items.

The guy from Doc Wally's In-Home Service was here in the time period he said he would be. He did what was expected. It was just more expensive that I expected. He did it quickly as supposed to taking it to a repair shop and having it there for about 3 weeks. I enjoyed working with him. He was personable and knowledgeable. The work was fine.

He fixed the belts to adjust my cutting handle, repaired and cleaned my broken steering system, and now my lawn mower runs like new.
