We are a family business of 20 years. We offer granite countertops from kitchens to bathrooms to outdoor kitchens, all fabrication and installation is done with are employees with no subcontractors.
Ron did multiple jobs for us over a span of two years. We replaced all of the granite in our kitchen and island as well as two bathrooms. Ron did a great job with everything! We were able to go to a granite showroom and pick our granite. We also used some remnants that Ron had for our two bathrooms. All turned out fantastic! He has done work for other neighbors as well. I highly recommend and would use him again!
Description of Work: Had granite replaced in kitchen and both bathrooms.

It didn't. The money was lost.
Description of Work: Ron was supposed to do counter tops in my fathers house. He took almost $3000 and never even started the job. No materials, no work, nothing. Just lost money. Beware.

Counterstone installed granite kitchen countertops during our kitchen remodeling on March 14 (original scheduled date was March 11) and matched some existing granite quite closely to finish another counter. A good sign. However, the granite tops on enclosed book cases included in the job were finished with the wrong edge. Ron didn't notice the error until the installation was completed March 14. At that point, we agreed to keep the bookcase top although it was faulty. Our option was to have Counterstone remove the granite, refinish the pieces and re-install them. We were leaving on a trip in two days and didn't have time to handle another installation. Prior to the March installation. we ordered lazy-susans, a cutting board and a granite table top from our granite remnants. Back from our trip in early April, we anticipated having those new pieces soon. Not so. None of those separate items has been delivered. And worse yet, Ron did not return numerous phone messages, nor did he call after I stopped by Counterstone's work office on I-35. I finally reached him on June 2 and he agreed to bring the completed items to our home on June 5. But that day, his associate called to delay delivery. Ron said he bought another company and has been busy with that integration; that was his excuse in March for delayed installation. It's now June and we're still waiting for our purchased pieces.
Description of Work: Counterstone installed granite kitchen countertops during our kitchen remodeling. We purchased the granite through our contractor with Counterstone working as a sub. Team installed the new granite as expected and matched some existing granite quite closely. However, the granite tops on enclosed book cases are finished with the wrong edge. We also ordered lazy-susans, a cutting board and a granite table top from the remnants, none of which has been delivered although we paid for all except the table top. Because that was custom work, we agreed to determine that price later.

Extremely rushed installation. The granite was not cut precisely causing damage to sheet rock and granite. The piece of stone is beautiful; however, because of poor installation, it has scratches and a chipped corner. We were promised that they would come by to remediate but have not heard from them since.

The entire effort went very well. We had shopped around some of the larger chain stores and found that their cost was significantly higher for what we wanted. I believe the story is well told in the section above. I feel that the key to this sucessful effort was the close coordination between us and Ron to maintain our ageed upon work schedule. When things happened that interfeared with the schedule we coordinated with each other and that made a big difference in our satisfaction level through out the effort
Description of Work: The owner and craftsman, Ron, of Counterstone provided advice and recomendations on how we could modify our existing countertops to meet our desire to inlarge the useable surface area of our island and match it up with the decore of the kitchen area itself. He provided us with a list of granite wholesale suppliers of granite "slabs" that he did work with. Ron also came to the house and did a detail survey of the required measurements and other technical information to facilitate the preparation and instalation of the new countertops. These suppliers had slabs available for us to chose from. Once we selected our raw material slabs, the supplier would then reserve them for us and they would be delivered to Counterstone for cutting in proper shape and polishing into our three new countertops. This preparation also included selection of a new sink and faucet assembly. Once again Ron advised and assisted us in making that selection and he then procured the items of our selection. With this preparation phase completed, Counterstone workers under Ron's close supervision then removed our old countertops and installed the new ones. The removal of the old countertops and instalation of the new ones took about 1 and 1/2 days including the plumbing work to install and hookup the new sink and faucet assembly. Also included in the installation was the cutting a space through the ganite for our "drop-in" electric stove. With the work completed the work crew proceeded to clean up the entire area involved in the work effort. Ron ran through a complete test of the faucet and sinks to ensure it worked. This was also done by the plummer who did the installation of the new sink. The plummer was subcontracted by Ron so he was responible for coordination of the effort and then he coordinated with us and we with him.
