The response to my previous review from mr bethea is ridiculous. My project, as agreed upon by my contractor was 30k OVER budget. How a contractor pays his subs is none of my concern. Any consumer can understand that I'm not the one who owes him money, that's exactly WHY you hire a GC. When I texted Mr Bethea, six months past the due date to see when he was coming to finish, his literal response via text message was "not my problem". It's exactly the type of professionalism I should have expected from someone who Leaves the job site mid day to go get high with his two workers. I imagine anyone reading the review would raise an eyebrow at a sub who comes on Angie's list to rate his customer an F, then claims to have worked out of pocket on his behalf. Does that ring true to anyone? The guy shows up no earlier than two pm to start work, then leaves the job unfinished for six months. The addition was for our new baby, promised completion time two months. My wife didn't get one day of her third trimester pay OR her maternity leave in peace. Oh yeah, Bob Bethea, care of Flethcer Ventures is a class act through and through. My suggestion is find an electrician with a sense of honor, and better sense than to convict himself with a response as poorly thought out as his work ethic. The irony of the entire situation is initially I had no issue with Bobby. In fact we had a rather cordial relationship. As the months rolled passed, I messaged him to ask when he was coming to finish up his work. Then I get the text... "not my problem". It was so stunningly rude and inappropriate I was taken aback. Presumably he'd been paid by the contractor, or else I'm sure he'd have contacted me. And despite his review there had been NO change in work order, it was all discussed from day one with the GC. His company was on the permit from the city, he had taken on the work and all payments made. How in the world is that not his problem? How do you talk to a customer that way, someone who had done nothing to provoke such a response? If he had issue on this build clearly it was with the GC and not me. Then he has the gall to say he'd never work for me again... I can't imagine why he'd ever be given the opportunity to turn down work from me. Who has the time to waste on a person with less sense than my six year old? This town's full of capable, eager electricians with decidedly better bedside manners than this clown.

Response from Bethea Electric
This project for my Company was originally $6200, it grew to $8200 with the service upgrade and moving his hot tub, both were not in the original scope. [member name removed] was severely over budget and I was paid $2200 for the project. I lost $2800 in material and labor that I paid, plus any profit that anyone expects when they work for someone. I find if disturbing that he stuck me with this loss then gets on Angies list and negs my company. Most contractors would not have returned if they knew they weren't getting paid, but I went back to finish his outlet. I never discussed project end dates with [member name removed] nor agreed to do anything under a time frame, that was between him and the GC. I went to his house every time I was told to by GC. I would have lien'd his house if it wasn't for the relationship I have with the GC. [member name removed] owns a barbershop, would he be ok if I went in to get a hair cut and refused to pay, then went online and gave his Barbershop a negative review. Bethea Electric doesn't do B type work and we expect to get paid for our services. My Company doesn't rely on Angies list for business, I have 20 contractors that I work for and they keep me very busy, so this reply is only to make a point. [member name removed] addition turned out great, and Im sure he is enjoying it, I just wish I had been paid for the outstanding work my Company did with his house. If I could rate homeowners [member name removed] would get an F, and we wouldn't consider working for [member name removed] again, even if he were to magically pay the $6000 he owes me.
