I had a clogged kitchen sink, they came in and easily fixed it

I had a leak near my water main meter and it was determined to be on my side. Because of the amount of roots in the area, it was determined to put a new water line from the meter to my house using pex pipe instead of PVC because of the flexibility and to deter any more breaks due to tree roots. This was a $2700 job. Roots were so heavy near my sidewalk that they had to demo part of the sidewalk to dig down. This added $650 to my cost, but it was necessary. The company dug all day Saturday and spent Monday and Tuesday cutting out roots and digging. They used lots of man hours and backhoe equipment to do the dig. Nice that a plumbing company has the large equipment to get the job done. Note that they always gave me a temp line through out the process so I always had water service in my home. They eventually had to break up part of my sidewalk to get under it to dig out roots and lay down the new line. Because of the way the line went into my house, they removed my old from spicket and gave me a brand new one on the side of my house with a new line going into my house (through my garage). The new spicket is cooper and very industrial...very nice. They plugged up my brick where they cut off the old spicket and it looks perfect. It was a bit frustrating that at times they would have to go back to the shop to get the right equipment and they never had a chainsaw to help (but they are not lumberjacks so that is understandable). Eventually they got my new line laid down after 5 days of work and they used equipment to backfill in my trench. The fixing of the sidewalk happened over a week later...there were some logistical and communications issues there..but eventually all was done. This is a great company to work with. The crew was fantastic. Especially Jacob. Were they the cheapest? Probably not....$3k sounds like a lot, but they put in the work. This also included a lot more work and materials than originally expected. Breaking up the concrete was an added expense...but I suppose this again was necessary. I've been told by other people that the price is not too high considering the amount of work and 25 year warranty attached to the job (including labor). Big State Plumbing will be my plumbers for life.

I have used Big State on two occasions. The first was when my husband put a nail through the pex pipe in our brand new home. They sent out a technician promptly. When he arrived he was polite and professionally attired. He addressed the problem quickly and cut the smallest hole possible in our wall. On the second occasion we had our garbage disposal replaced as it had a slow leak that we had not noticed until the bottom of the cabinet was ruined. The technician was again prompt, polite, and professionally attired. He replaced the disposal with an upgraded version and cleaned up the mess that was made. We were very happy with the service and the prices on both occasions.

This was a $49 big deal purchase. It worked out fine. He was fine.

They arrived on time and were professional. The coupon or deal I purchased was for a drain clean and video inspection and only received the drain clean so I won't be using this company again. If you can't even do what was ordered what else will they not do? Who knows and I won't take that chance again.

D'Adrian, the plumber that worked with us this time and before, was spot on in helping fix our plumbing problems at our rental property. The problem actually started a week or so earlier. His crew got us out of a spot and ran new piping in the yard when the old piping had cratered. Then we had a leak and couldn't locate it. D'Adrian (sp?) did that for us. I thought the price was fair for such a professional job. A good quality plumber comes with a professional price, but Big State Plumbing is actually more competitive than a previous plumber I used. And more reliable! There were a couple of jobs done ($450 and $1500) and worth every penny.

It went very well. Repairmen arrived on time. He checked and then drained the hot water heater, and also checked all the water faucets in my home. I was very pleased with the service.

showed up on time and inspected my unit and called the home office to get a bid. Said it would be 781.00 just add a flushing capabiliy to my unit. Much more than a new unit would cost. Don't think they wanted to do any work on my system.

The technician was knowledgeable, did what he needs to do and informed me about the condition of the water heater and the next step to be taken. He also conducted a quick home inspection for the kitchen and shower facets to make sure they were working.

Showed up ready to go. Removed the first water heater in the lower attic - all went smooth. Second heater was in the upper attic a long way back. Removal was difficult but handled well by these professionals. New units installed and tested - all was perfect. Cleaned up job site and away they went. Excellent job, highly recommend these guys.

Excellent preparation and explanation of what, when, how and the approximate timing to complete the job! We were very pleased with the completed job and personnel!

Glen was a gentleman and excellent service technician. He was very diligent in not only doing the job but also educating me on the use of the water heater. I really like how they send out an email with a picture of your technician so you will know who to expect. For a single female that is a very nice feature. I will call Big State again!

The one problem was that the guy was a commercial plumber so he did not have some of the parts that he might have needed for a residential home. He fixed one toilet and that was it. It is working, but that was pretty high for one toilet just to fix the insides because he did not have anything to use for the other one. He used the parts that I had. My interaction with them was fine. The price would have been a good deal except for the fact that he was a commercial plumber and I was a residential situation. I might have better service had he been matched up correctly.

Plumber Roy Moreno was great, explaining everything he did and observed. The only small hitch was that his work order from Big State Plumbing only included the water heater flush, and did not include the ten other inspections listed in the Angie's List Deal. So, there was a comm breakdown somewhere between Angie's List, Big State, and the plumber. Because of this, Roy did not have everything with him necessary to perform all of the inspections, e.g., dye tablets for dye-testing toilets. However, Roy gladly did everything he could on the AL Deal list, and used a flashlight to inspect the toilets for leaks in lieu of dye. Roy, experienced in both commercial and residential plumbing, taught me a few things new things about plumbing maintenance. So, I'd recommend asking for Roy Moreno if you use Big State. And be sure to print out the Deal in case all items are not communicated to the plumber or tech performing the service.

Plumber referred me to my air conditioning repair man to blow out the line. AC repair came later that afternoon and within a few minutes cleared the bathroom sink clog with Nitrogen.

Roy M. and his team were fantastic. David, Santana, and Noel were polite, professional and were very helpful and answered all questions. All work was performed in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. Thank You BSP and Angie's List for pointing me in the right direction.

He did not do all the work that was specified in the deal. He did not provide me with an invoice of the work. He also tried to charge me for work.

It went well except my shower tub the technician has to come back tomorrow and fix . Thx

Nothing special stood out. He was just cleaning the water heater. It got messy real bad. They were punctual and professional.

Told me I don't need a water heater flush, I need a whole new water heater, because it is too old. He didn't want to do the flush. Told me it was my choice to take a chance to do this flush and it might clog up my line and might need to get a new one anyways. He quoted a price to replace completely, and attach outside line for $1500. I have done flushes before and was surprised by this. I ended up getting someone else to do this flush out of my water heater. I felt that this man was trying to get me to spend more money than I needed to and that this is the steal he uses on his customers.

There's always added charges and this was no different. He did good work, was very professional and personable. I would call them again

I would definitely use their plumbing services again. We found them to be very professional from the initial phone call to the completion of the work.

We initially found Big State Plumbing through an Angie's List Big Deal to clear our sewer line and perform a video inspection of the line. The video showed some type of break or obstruction in the line, so we received an estimate to replace the entire 40' sewer line. After we discovered the root cause of the issue, we requested a change to only perform a 10' spot repair to replace only the broken line. Despite the new request being half the cost of the original quote, they respected our wishes and the work was completed per our request and to our satisfaction. While on the job site, they broke a water line in our sprinkler system, and they came out immediately to repair it. They are trustworthy and reliable, and I highly recommend them.

Both Michael and the other plumber were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They did all tests and suggested a few things to prevent any leaks. We went with changing out the plastic supply lines on the toilets for the steel ones. They flushed the water heater and gave some information that I did not know about to watch for in the future. Would call them again if needed.

After review of emailed estimate I requested estimate for tankless by email and after calling to schedule appointment, I requested estimate for whole house repiping as suggested as well. March 19: estimator came out to review house for estimates for tankless and repiping of house. I was informed that we would have the estimate Monday morning. March 21: I did not hear from Big State in the morning so I called and was told that it was being checked into and I would get a call back.March 29: I'm still waiting....Because I trusted Angie's List and all the great reviews I purposefully waiting because I thought this was a reliable company. Thanks for a whole lot of nothing but wasted time.
