My water heater went out on Black Friday. I saw this company in the phone book and called. The asnwered on the 2nd ring and would have a plumber come out between 4:00 and 5:00. Plumber arrived at 4:15! He looked around for a few minutes and gave me a quote of $895. The plumber went to his truck and talked on the phone for a while. He then said his plumbing supply store was closed for the holiday and that he would have to go to a retail store and pick one up. I said fine. He went shopping and I sent to an evening appointment. My wife texed me at 7:30 and told me we had hot water and that the plumber was very nice and cleaned up everything. When I got home that evening I saw the bill for $1309 which was $400 over the estimate. I contacted the owner via email and he answered immediately. (Again, I was impressed by the professionalism). He said: "Thanks for you email and your business after speaking with the tech and the price he gave you it appears he gave you the standard gas water heater price and not the propane price for installation of a propane water heater. Which was the reason for the extra cost because propane water heaters are more expensive. Also what contributed to the higher cost was we were unable to pull a heater from a supply house and had to purchase one from Home Depot due to holiday. Still the technician should have quoted you the new price before he started the work and purchased the heater." I have come to expect lousy service these days, but these guys surprised me and I will use them again. The negative comments are paying $783 labor for a simple water heater replacement in an open garage with easy access and for not honoring the estimate.

The service was satisfactory, but not great. They installed a copper line, which I later discovered was not right material, so I ended up having to replace it.

The service was very good. They showed up very quickly when we needed them and we were satisfied overall!

Kenneth did a great job! He’s provided fantastic service, and he even came back to unclog a drain without charging me anything. I would recommend him to anybody!

George did an excellent job. We had a lot of rain that week which prevented plumber from filling in trench that had to be dug to put pipes in.But it all worked out to our satisfaction.

The estimate was spot on. The plumber allowed that there might be some other costs that could occur as a result of what we would find in the wall compared to what current code required (the house was built in '78). We dealt with that and I continue to call Big State first every time I have need of a plumber. RE: the onsite service. They also professionally cleaned up after themselves. I unhesitatingly recommend Big State Plumbing.

Each time they came out to fix the problem they were rude to me. I had to have them come out twice after the first time to stop the leaks. His wife was really rude every time I called to report the problem of the shower head fitting leaking all the time. I would never call them to have them do anything ever again. I feel that I got overcharged for poor quality work & they never showed up on time.

THEY WERE VERY QUICK TO GET SOMEONE OUT, AND WERE VERY NICE AND COURTEOUS.
