The extra coast was more then I was willing to pay for the project I requested a refund for a Big Deal that I purchased.

They did not ever knock on my door to let us know that they were here multiple times. They left originally, and then came back. There were also extra costs involved.

The plumber was knowledgeable with our problems and he fix them without hesitation. We were very pleased.

Plumber spent almost 3 hours trying to figure out where the drain to the main line was. We've been in this 40 year old house for only a year so I didn't know. He kept at it and determined the main line was in a completely different direction we thought is was. I'll have Big State Plumbing back again.

Arrived on time, cordial, efficient. Didn't have shoe covers for his boots, but when I asked if he'd put on some that I provided, he willingly did so. While the issues were mostly fixed, my level of satisfaction with the toilet flush mechanism and not having covers for the boots were what prevented this from being an A. The toilet tank seepage age issue was resolved, but you had to hold the handle longer than usual to engage the flush mechanism. This was an annoyance. Called them back, this got fixed.

It was a very nice person who arrived on time, fixed the problem, cleaned up the mess and was very pleasant. We would use them again and again!

Scheduling team responded quickly and one of my three suggested times worked. Technician arrived promptly and completed work quickly Technician was very helpful and personable.

These guys are great. Richard Bryant was prompt and efficient and pleasant to deal with. Pricing was not a gouge, though this was an emergancy Sunday repair. I will use these guys forever. Seriously, folks, call them fora ll your plumbing needs.

We purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for $99 for 2 hrs of plumbing labor, to install 2 toilets we purchased Problem 1) BILLING VS. REAL TIME-The Big Deal clearly said 2 HRS of labor which could be 1 plumber for 2 hrs or 2 plumbers for 1 hr each BUT Ryan, the plumber, said the 2 hrs was BILLABLE hrs rather than real-time hrs & installing 1 toilet was 2 hours of billable time but he would call his boss to get us a waiver. Problem 2) CHANGING PRICING-Ryan said the water supply lines weren't long enough to accommodate the 17" toilets we purchased vs. our old 16" toilets and the additional cost, dropping from $300 to $75, was agreed upon. Then Ryan said the old supply lines were crimped on which required addt'l charges. Ryan determined 1 supply line could attach but to replace the valve & supply line on the 2nd toilet would be $195. Ryan offered us a $100 discount if we paid cash which sounded somewhat shady to us so we declined. We requested Ryan estimate a kitchen sink replacement. Ryan provided a list price ($700 total) saying there would be a "substantial" discount dependent on when we wanted the work done. ??? Problem 3) LACK OF QUALITY-We later discovered the replaced valve & supply line was leaking. Julie in the office was very responsive & helpful in scheduling a different plumber to resolve the leak. He arrived as scheduled, told us the leak was fixed but we found hours later it had only slowed. I left a message for Julie & was promptly contacted by Big State to schedule a 3rd plumber. Shane, the 3rd plumber, was great. He was very thorough & his fix stopped the leak. Problem 4) HAUL AWAY PROBLEM-Ryan said he couldn't haul away our old toilets then so he placed our toilets at the curb, saying a street picker would pick them up "soon" but to call his mobile at end of day when his loaner truck was empty and he would pick them up. We called Ryan 3 times over 2 days, Ryan was a no-show. I had to call the office twice more before toilets picked up. Without Julie & Shane, we'd have listed all ratings as D or F. Julie and Shane were the best part of our experience.

I purchased an Angie's List deal for 40 gallon water heater installation. Provider advised that as water heater is in the attic, there would be an additional fee to cover 2 man crew (instead of normal one-man crew). I also paid for an upgrade to 50 gallon water heater. Service was scheduled, and first man on the job arrived. He advised that he would wait for second man to arrive to get started. About 20 minutes later, he knocked on the door and stated that the other service man was stuck in traffic, so he would like to get started by draining the old water heater. He borrowed the garden hose from my house and drained it into the guest bathroom tub. He left, returning to his truck to wait for his counterpart. A full hour later, the second man arrived. No one came to my door to announce this, though I watched them unload the new water heater from the truck and take it out of the box. They proceeded to carry the cumbersome, heavy water heater up the driveway and to my front door, which was closed and locked. They obviously could not get through the door and were struggling to keep a hold of the water heater. I was put off by the fact that the situation could have easily been handled by them coming to the door before they had such a heavy load to request that the door be opened. I opened the door as quickly as I could for them. They proceed with the job, including removing the old water heater. I watched them lift the new one through the attic access door after politely asking them to make sure it would fit. They said that it "probably" would. I wanted to make sure that it would not be damaged during installation. It fit okay through the opening. They completed installation and returned my water hose to its outside location. I did not go upstairs to check the status of the areas where they worked before they left. If I had, I would have found lots of attic insulation covering the hallway, which is near my child's play area, and lots of black sediment clogging my guest bathtub. I paid the additional fees owed due to the provider, and they left. I feel that the customer service could have been better in the punctuality issue, how they interacted with me, and leaving a mess upstairs.

I had a garbage disposal start leaking. I checked Angie's List Big Deal & saw that Big State was offering $200 for $100, so I bought the deal. Big State came out a day or so later & told me the disposal was dead (after 20 years). They gave me the choice of either replacing it that day with one of their units or buying a unit myself, which would be cheaper. I bought the unit they recommended and saved $80 in the process. They came out the day after I got back from Thanksgiving break, replaced it no problem. With the deal & buying my own unit, I paid $180 out of pocket, which is very good; it's nice to know that the service provider isn't jacking up the price when you have a coupon. They showed up on time, were polite & professional & did a great job quickly. I'd definitely use them again.

We had to call to even make an appointment. No one from the company ever called us. They gave us a 4 hour window 12-4. Right before 4 o'clock they called and left a message. We tried immediately to call them back....several times...no answer and the voice mail was full. So we called the main number. They said that since we didn't answer the phone, they went on to the next appointment and we would have to continue to wait for our repairman to arrive. I called back and cancelled the appointment. That was totally unacceptable service. If they gave us a 30 minute window before arrival, why did they not come on to our home. This is our first time to use Angie's list, so we are not pleased with our first encounter. Please refund in total. Thank you.

Everything was good. The plumber showed up on time and performed the tasks in a reasonable amount of time. I was pleased with all aspects of the service.

I was very pleased with how it was performed, in addition to some minor issues that the plumber addressed.

Initially, Ryan, the person who no longer works there, came and inspected the wrong line and told me that there wasn't a problem with the line but that the toilet needed to be replaced or there was a problem at the end where the toilet enters the drainage system. Not only that, but he was argumentative and didn't believe me when I told them what was wrong with the toilet! He then told me to call him back after I took a picture of the line coming from the toilet so I then pulled the toilet, took a picture of that pipe/entry, then called him to have him call me back. He never did. I then called the company line and the person that I spoke with on the phone was pleasant, but she, nor Ryan, ever called me back. When I tried to call back to have the problem rectified, they never called back after having told me that they would. Anyhow, I called Angie's LIst back to get the money back on my deal, which they ended up giving me "store credit" for so I could use on a different deal rather than a refund, which is fine, though not preferred. I guess they notified the owner who then, kindly, agreed to have the situation rectified without charge. He sent out a different employee who was, well, more accommodating, yet still somewhat rushed but at least diagnosed the problem more accurately - It was about 5p when he could come out because I just wasn't available any early so they were accommodating to my schedule. He re-snaked the line as well and put the camera back down and finally diagnosed that the vent wasn't created as it should have been so it was having a problem with getting enough air into the line (Actually, after I followed his recommendations, I found out that the line was having a problem with getting enough air Out of And into the line so he was only half correct). Either way, at least I now knew the problem and have since fixed it on my own. I would say that the guy he eventually sent out was a little full of himself when he was patting himself on the back for finding the answer. Other than that, eh, at least they tried to rectify the problem as best they could. I would recommend anyone to not take the last appointment of the day since, as you can imagine, they're quite ready to go home at that point - which make sense, but that's what separates A from B service providers, yes?

I knew the waste lines in the house were clear, but the main sewer line from the house to the county line was blocked. I had already tried to use a small rental auger to clear the line, but was unsuccessful. I found the $189.00 deal on Angie's List for a drain clearing with camera inspection. The office staff was helpful and polite - scheduling was a breeze. The technician called in advance of showing up, and was promptly on time. He competently completed the work and patiently answered all my questions. The line was cleared and he showed me in the camera where my line was broken, near where it joins the county sewer line. I have contacted the MUD, and if they say it is my financial responsibility to do this repair, I won't hesitate to call Big State Plumbing back for the job.

I had an appointment set between 8-12 and they called around 1 pm to tell me that they would not be coming. They wanted me to reschedule but I had already taken off work for the day and could not take off any more. They should have called me between the scheduled time frame to let me know they were too busy to come.

I never had an opportunity to work with them. They were pleasant setting up our first appointment but after four hours of waiting and no phone call I decided to call them. I was informed they would not be available for a couple more hours. At this point they were already four hours late with no heads up or warning. That was rather disappointing.

The provider did not show up to the appointment. I then got a call apologizing that no one showed but was assured that the provider would be out to my home. I waited and waited but no one ever came out to my home.

They were at the tail end of arriving, but arrived with a reasonable range. They were extremely knowledgeable and personable. The only issue was the timing, but they did move an original date to another date for me.

I used to get dirty water from my faucets. I had called some plumbing companies to correct the problem. All of them told me that I need to re-pipe the house. Re-piping quote was significantly lot of money. When Big States plumber went to my house, he suggested that a cheaper option is to flush the plumbing . After he flushed the pipe, my water has been running clean. They saved me lot of money. I am very impressed by their honesty. They have good customer service. Julie Smith would respond to my e-mails and phone calls promptly. Highly recommend this company to anyone.

I purchased the 2 hours of plumbing services for $99. 1st time, plumber arrived on time. He was courteous and professional. He reset something in the garbage disposal within minutes and it work fine thereafter. Likewise, he adjusted something in the toilet tank and made the water stop running. His total time at my house was less than 30 minutes. Unfortunately, within a couple of days, I was experiencing the same problem. 2nd time, Big State sent a plumber out at no additional cost. It was a different plumber this time. Again, he was punctual, courteous and professional. He made adjustments in the toilet tank, stating that I should have no additional issues. He told me that should I have additional issues, I simply needed to adjust a screw down valve. Again, within a couple of days, I was experiencing the same problem. 3rd time, Big State sent a plumber out at no additional cost. It was a different plumber again. Again, he was punctual, courteous and professional. I stated my concerns, that simply tightening a screw down valve over and over is of little benefit it the threading is worn out. Instead, I asked that the part be replaced. This plumber agreed. He left to buy the part, returned and replaced it quickly. He didn't charge me for the replacement parts. Weeks later, it works as it should. Big State was responsive and honored their work. I would have given them an "A" if it didn't take 3 trips to fix the problem.

The initial inspection and estimate was performed by Morgan Donaho and Steve (do not remember his last name) who discussed with us how it could be done and what the PEX piping would entail. We received the bid and were told it would be a 2-3 day job. I explained that we just found out our daughter would be married and would need to postpone the date. The company said that would not be an issue and would keep the deal for us until after the wedding. The Morgan was extremely understanding about this! Work began on the date agreed. Three men (Morgan, Steve and Marcus) worked from morning until night for three days. They were professional and respectful of our antiques, paintings, and furniture, answered any questions we might have, and agreed to put in new faucets for two sinks when we found out the valves were leaking and corroded. They amicably handled our schnauzer running around checking on their work. The sheetrock had to be cut in several areas to change the pipes. The holes were not excessive and they nailed the cutouts back into the wall. We knew ahead of time that these cutouts would be our responsibility to fix & paint. We had running water in part of the house each night so we did not have to move to a hotel. They did basic clean-up and disposal of any debris daily. Overall, we were very surprised at how easy it was on us, because our home is not a typical 2-story box with easy connections. Our home is ?U? shaped with separate second stories that do not connect with each other - lots of going up and down, crawling in three separate attics and very cramped spaces all day. The best part is the finished job! We now have faucets with a better water flow and the water is not rusty and tastes better! When they showed us an old galvanized pipe, we were horrified at what was built up inside of it. I am sorry we waited so long! We happily recommend Big State Plumbing! Morgan, Steve and Marcus were wonderful, respectful, hard workers! Do not wait to have this done! It is well worth it to have it done by professionals!

The pipe under the sink was leaking and it turned out to be the faucet was rusted out where it connected to pipe.

He was on time and very professional. Will use them again if needed.
