Professional. Polite. Made 100% certain to introduce himself and show me his company Employee Badge. A+ on that. A little issue with being them on time to the appointment, which is the reason for the B there. It happens but I had to endure a window of 6 hrs. Was in and out in less than an hour. Was a bit surprised that anything that fast could have cost $325 to accomplish, but I haven't hired a plumber in a long while. ( I may be in the wrong business!) I was not informed of the costs before repairs were made and I likely would have declined the service on the commode had I known that price since I rent this property and doubt I'll get the cost covered by land lord. That is why the "B" on Price. Would use them again if I needed such services but would also make sure I knew pricing for repairs prior to those being done.

We live in an old house, talking 40+ years old one would expect some unseen issues popping up and that's exactly what happened when Chris was replacing the water heater. On Friday the 6th when he installed the tall one, the pipes were so old a piece broke off completely and he had to replace the cold water valve. He also let us know we need a drip pan since we didn't have one. Chris was very respectful and very informative, he kept me up to speed on every issue he ran into while working. I work from home on fridays and was in meetings all morning but Chris was extremely professional and accommodating even though I know he had a schedule he tried to adhere to as best he could. He showed me how full of crud and random pipe pieces the broken valve and old water heater was full of, and that could indicate other issues with my pipes throughout the home. He even gave me a quick estimate on repiping my home which is something I knew we'd have to do, just not so soon. The only downside was after CenterPoint Energy came to validate that the gas leaks had been repaired, I was informed that the water heater that was just installed needed to be 18" off the ground, so Chris had to come back and install a short water heater. In doing so he had to add a piece to the gas pipe so that it would fit around the drip pan....another extra cost i wasn't prepared for and that one kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. No one likes to be blind sided and sadly, both times I was. It wasn't anyone's fault really. Actually and to be bluntly honest, my only issue at all is the following: As a professional plumber, you should have known that gas water heaters have to be 18" off of the ground. Instead of giving me the option to decide on installing the tall water heater you brought or going back to get a short one, you should have said "ma'am, this tall water heater isn't the one you need. Your boyfriend told us the wrong size, you actually need a short one. I can see if we have a short one in our warehouse, if we do, i can go swap this one for that one and come back later tonight or tomorrow." I would have been fine with that b/c you recognized the error that was made immediately, my boyfriend would have gotten an earful lol, but having it done properly the first time would have been my preference. The fact that you came back and replaced it without any questions or any additional cost outside of what my old house forced, I appreciate that so very much. All in all, Big State and Chris did an excellent job. He was courteous and friendly and if I had my way, if I ever need Big State Plumbing, I would always and only ask for Chris. On another note: I would also like to point out that Shane, the after hours gentleman I spoke to late friday night, was also very professional and was patient enough to hear my complaints and offer options to resolve the issue. Thank you to both Chris and Shane.

He broke the cable down my drain and that took some time and a mess. I am not arguing with the company but I think the worker was not on the right mind. However, he came out when he was supposed to. I called him, he came and performed to a certain extent. The price was really good that's is why I went for it; plumbing problems can get real expensive. But, the guy was loosy goosy, I don't know if he was drinking or what. He kept going in and out and he was a little nervous.

Because if the unusual way this was constucted ,it was more difficult and challenging to install. The hooks were hidden on the inside which made it aesthec ially pleasing but harder to get to. The plumber Hector, showed me yhis and was still up to the challenge and did it although it was certainly more challeni Thank goodness we did not try to do this ourselves. This company had already been out once and thoughtfully suggested that we might be happier with a replacement rather than trying ti fix the old one which leaked in the tank, not something easier and more common like a leak ay the bottom. I appreciated that rather than fixing something 18 years old. The price would have been $320.00 but with our coupn from Angies list than goodness was only $120 for labor which believe Hector earned.

I called at 9 AM to see if they could give me a closer time because I needed to work. I was told they would come around noon. They came at 11 - then called me to tell me they were at my house waiting. Orig deal was for $749 to replace gas or elect water heater. The guy proceeds to tell me it will be an additional $250 b/c my heaters are in the attic (I had already told them that) and he wants another $125 to replace the pan & $20 just because (office fee). So that puts the Big Deal up to $1144.00. Then he wants another $1480 to replace the 2nd heater (no details on that break-out provided) for a grand total of $2624 to replace both heaters (not sure if tax had been included in this total). This is no better than what i could get from any other plumbing service. So I told them no - thank you.

Everything was fine. They are saying that I owe them money and I paid up front. The guys were nice. They wanted a lot to do the job. I ended up having the job done for much cheaper through someone else. The worker was good. I wasn't happy with the quote. They came out shortly after I made the purchase.

They came over and it was for a small job, and I had all the stuff to fix it, but they quoted a high price, higher than the market value, so I decided not to use them. They were professional, though.

We had paid for a $99 for $200 Deal. We initially told them we had a low-flow pressure problem and expected them to give us some professional plumbing advice and service to fix the problem. Instead they sent a sales rep to sell us new water heaters without looking at anything. Then after calling them back to complain that we had paid $99 for only a quote, the next person they sent only flushed one of our two water heaters. Then he broke our water heater T&P pressure valve and wanted to charge us $200 to fix what he broke. They were not responsive, their service rep was very late in arriving and wasted our whole day waiting form him and then they wanted to charge use to fix what they broke. Very unprofessional! They could not guarantee that replacing our water heaters would solve the pressure problem. We don't feel like they knew how to solve our pressure problem -- they just wanted an equipment sale. When I complained to the company they were very rude. I had to call them many times before anyone would call me back. They lost a potential sale of 2 new water heaters because they did not honor the deal they were offering. They should have just fixed the T&P pressure valve (a $14 part at Lowes) and given us a professional explanation about how we could fix our pressure problem. I felt like they just offered this Deal in order to generate leads for equipment sales. It was not a pleasant experience and we would NEVER use this company for any plumbing service!

It was adequate. One of the things has a leak in it. I don't think I would recommend them. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. They were punctual.

They told me I had a broken pipe under the house and it would cost me almost $9000.00. Another company came out discovered it was just a clog and fixed the problem for only $350.00. I was shocked by the difference and feel like this company didn't assess the problem correctly and didn't take the time to really check and see what was wrong. It would have costs me thousands of dollars.

Wonderfully, he came in did his work while i was stuck on a meeting, performed the requested service, gave me pointers for saving some money, and left the area clean. I was impressed with the no high pressure add on's or dire warnings of impending doom that i get from so many service providers. I will definarely be using them in the future.

They were very good. There were some extra charges, but that was to be expected for all of the work I needed to have performed. They helped in changing out a kitchen sink fixture and then helped work on my commode which wasn’t hardly functioning at all. They were there for at least two hours, so even though parts and labor were extra, I thought they were reasonable. Scheduling too was easy. I was scheduled within a week. I think it was really just a matter of two days or so, but just can’t recall exactly. Since their work, I have not had any further troubles.

We did not have to have my work done but he did give an estimate for future references. I would recommend and use the company again. Because we used Angie's list the service call was no charge.

Jim Mason was the specific plumber who worked on my plumbing issues. He showed up on time, was very polite, cordial and professional and did the required repairs at a very good quality and in a very short amount of time. He was able to remove a rusted-on bolt that another plumber we had hired could not remove. As well, he took extra care to not "make a mess" when required and even apologized for a few drops of water that had hit the floor after he had fixed my broken toilet. There was no hard upsells from him, simply good service. At least from this one experience, they have won my business for the future.

Called at around 9am and they were able to schedule someone to come at 1pm. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave a quick estimate, and resolved the problem in less than an hour. The $50 from Angie's list was also a great bonus!

We thought the customer service from Big State was outstanding. Their pricing and offers were wonderful. They answered all our questions and follow up requests. We did not hire them after comparing each of the bids and reviews we received from others regarding experience, Angie's list reviews, and Better Business Bureau ratings. It was a difficult decision and we thank Big State and their team.

When they came to my house, we also discussed the water pressure of the hot water. He quoted me a price and I agreed to have the hot water lines replaced. He started the work on 11/23/14. On 11/24/14, he came back to complete the work. A couple of hours into the job, I heard a loud crash. He had let water run onto the ceiling of my garage until it was so wet that 10' x 10' area of wall board collapsed onto my car. When I questioned him, he said they would pay for the repair to the ceiling and my car. About an hour or so later, he left leaving all of the work unfinished. The next day when he didn't show up, I tried to contact him. The company sent one of their supervisor's out to finish the water lines. This guy also said that the company was responsible for the repairs. That is the last I have heard from Big State. I have called the company at least 20 times and they have not returned my calls. I obtained estimates for the car repair ($328) and for the ceiling repair ($897.00). I have contacted Angie's List and they are looking into these issues.

Very well. Plumber was well versed on what needed to be done. Very thorough.

Although not stated in the Angies List offering, it was for a 40 Gallonwater heater. To make it a 50 gallon unit (equal to what was already in his house) was another $150 "up-Grade"! The offering also did not say that there was an additional charge of $150 because it was up stairs! The price became less attractive as I got closer to simply replacing the unit that was already there! Although my son's fiance was home that morning I promised to go there to support her dealing with Big State. Tech arrived as promised and did the preparation work needed to yank the old unit. The Technition was a good rep for Big State. Explanied what was happing, etc. The second Tech arrived with the new unit shortly after the "Draining" function was complete, Good timing. Smart work. The two brought down the old and carried up and positioned the new. First Tech moved on to another job and the second tech completed the install and checked it out. Again, smart use of thier time. We have switched to Big State who has been woring to expand thier activity into our area. So far (4 service calls) they have done a good job at prices lower than the prime provider in this area Milton Frank. If you will note comments in your system on Milton Frank, " . . . a little Pricey. . . " shows up in many customer comments. Big State doe not fall in that category and thier work and response times appear to be just as good.as Milton Frank. Also: Trucks and Tech uniforms were clean and well marked. I bought the Big State special on a new hot water heater through Angie's list. The plumber arrived when scheduled and installed it in about two hours. The next day we noticed very reduced water pressure in the kitchen. I called Big State, and promptly got another service visit scheduled. The same plumber came to check out the problem. He determined that the problem was with the faucet in the Kitchen. He recommended that it be replaced. He said it would be cheaper if I bought it myself, and let Big State install it for me. They came out the next day to install the new faucet. Now we have hot water, and plenty of water pressure. I was pleased at Big States prompt response to my problems.

Jim was very good. He kept me updated on arrival time, and took care of everything I needed while he was there. He was the real deal, no nonsense - Plus no nickle and dime attempts while there. I did notice a discrepancy (honest mistake) on the bill after I had paid it, and the staff at BSP took care of that after the fact. Thanks again, Mike M

There was some initial confusion about the day and time of service, but the company was eventually able to dispatch a plumber on the planned day (just a little late). Job was pretty straightforward - hose bibs and braids - so it didn't take very long; I haven't had any problems with any of the work, and would definitely consider using the company again.
