They did a really nice job and it isn't leaking any more

He was in and out because it was really very minor and I didn't realize it but he did his job. There was nothing to do. I asked him to do a couple of other little things and he did them.

It went fine. This was 2 months ago. He just looked around, did a couple of things that I've pointed out that I thought I had issues with and he indicated to me that he thought there was no issue and I think he looked in the drain and that was pretty much it. The price is fine. I would probably not use them again. The guy who came basically told me in a few words what I told him I had seen was probably not what I thought I had seen, and I know what I saw. He tried to tell me it was probably something else and not to worry about it. I wanted it checked, I wanted to feel better about. I want to feel more confident that what he was telling me was right and I didn't feel confident about that.

I received an estimate from this company. The estimator does not actually do any work and I'm not sure that I trust his opinion. He was nice enough but arrogant. He mentioned that he makes a lot of money giving estimates and not doing any real work. This did not make me feel that I was getting a fair rate - made me feel that I would overpay to help pay for his lifestyle. I may have a gas leak which could potentially cost me a lot of money and put me in danger in the meantime. This is not an appropriate time to brag about making a lot of money for doing very little work. He was also not able to perform a small repair that was needed. It would seem that someone coming out to give an estimate on a gas leak would be able to perform a simple 5-minute repair at the same time. I received the quote immediately via e-mail which was nice. $125 to pull the permit and $375 to test for a gas leak PLUS $20 for 'miscellaneous such as gloves'. Really? This company cannot pay for their own gloves? $500 just to determine if I have a leak? Wow. I will not use this company. The friends that I have shared this information with have been astounded at the price. Also, to cap a 3/4 pipe protruding from the back of my house (one valve) would cost $65 plus $20 for 'miscellaneous'. So...$85 bucks.

I am not sure why this contractror has so many high ratings. He came to my house to perform 3 minor repairs. 2 people for a couple of hours and less than 50 USD of material. Taking advantage of a family member at the house who is not technically oriented the contractor communicate and got agreement on a 850 USD repair. The price is at least 3 times higher than a fair price. As a comparison I had 4 AC contractors at my house during the same week for an entire afternoon who also drill and installed a new vent pipe in the roof - 250 USD. The the contractor was asked to provide an invoice but sent just 1 line in an e mail. Also, the 49 USD coupon was not applied. When asked to brake the price down for us the contractor stopped communicating with us. Just to be clear we formally accepted this price. However, the price was absurd.

They did a great job with replacing the cartridge in my shower. My issue was with the toilet and the install. After purchasing the elongated toilet I was told that the job would cost $900. I looked around and realized that they were charging me more than half of what another company was going to charge me.

I have no problem with quality of work. The deal I bought said it was worth $250, but in actuality if was 200, so i was initially put off by the dirfferential; the ad offer was vague. then I noticed that they gave a senior discount on work, but they told me it would not apply because I had the "deal" not big issues but a bit offputting. Most importantly, my shower works well and my toilet does not leak.

Went fine. Some pieces were bigger so still remain. Job was done as described.

It turns out "a $200 value" only pays for about an hour of time with a plumber. I had the idea he would replace my kitchen faucet. But I bought one with the wrong number of attachments for the amount of holes I had in my sink. There was no time to get a replacement and have him install since he only had an hour. So he replaced the handle on a toilet and advised on the right type of faucet. There was nothing else for him to do given the time constraints. And a faucet off his truck would have cost an additional $300. So while what he did was fine, for the price, it actually wasn't much of a "deal". I'm rating it as a kind of a "meh" experience.

We got some additional quotes from other companies. This company never sent us the written estimate we requested. They did give us a verbal estimate that was $130 more than the other companies. It seemed like they were trying to compensate for the coupon. The guys was nice and professional but I feel like the companies integrity might be lacking.

I had an appointment scheduled between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m I received a call shortly after 12 p.m. I received a call from the plumber letting me know he was on the way. He arrived about 1 p.m. This is the only negative I can say about the service. I realize that some calls take more time than anticipated and might cause a late arrival. However, I would expect a call to keep me informed. Everything else went smoothly, the new water heater was installed (in the garage). The plumber hauled off the old water heater; and the new one is cranking out hot water.

It was fine. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount.

Nathan the technician was great. But their costumer service sucks. Rude people, they don't want to take care of your costumer. for he price there is better places to work with. Sad that the great work that the technicians do on the field is damage by the rude and poor quality of there customer service.

The Plumber Nathan was on time, courteous and efficient. I was very pleased with the service.

Juan was great! Professional and did a great job. He explained why I was having a problem and had what he needed so was able to fix it same day. I used the $99 for $200 service, but still had to pay an additional $218. That seemed high to me, but I did want it fixed and he was here.

for a 1 hr job and materials supplied by me--they wanted 652 dollars this is as close to price gouging as it comes

I called on Sunday and Josh was there right on time Monday morning. Josh is very professional, courteous and knowledgeable in his field. He went to work right away and located the leak inside the wall and repaired the pipe and he also installed a better main shutoff valve outside the house. He cleaned up all the debris and mess when he was done. I was very pleased with the service and the amount of time it took to complete the job. The pricing was reasonable too. I give this company an A+ and I would hire them again and do recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work. Great job!

Alex was our provider. Polite and friendly. He did a good efficient job giving us updates. He explained things as well. We are booking some future work to complete other issues once we buy new sink.

I was very disappointed with Big State Plumbing. Their communication is poor. They are unprofessional. They are not punctual. I would never hire this company. I called on Monday morning and scheduled service for Wednesday morning. My window for service was 8-10AM, but I was told that I was first on the list, and the plumber Nathan should be there at 8:30AM. I was also told I would receive a phone call when the plumber was en route. At 9AM, I called Big State to confirm they were coming. The woman that answered the phone could not explain where her plumber was or why he had not called me. She assured me she would give me a call back. At 9:36AM, I had not heard back, so, I called again. This time she told me he was in Katy, but she did not know why he was there. She assured me she would call me as soon as she got in touch with him. At 11:12AM, I called again and this time I was placed on hold while she investigated why the plumber was not at my house. This time she told me he would be at my house within 45 minutes. At 12:20PM, the plumber arrived at my house. I explained what was going on and that my dad had turned the water off from the house and the sprinklers but the meter kept running. I said our conclusion was the leak was between the house and the meter. He looked at it and said, yeah you have a problem with water here (indicating that where the meter was there was standing water). He did no diagnostics though by trying to turn off water at various places and double check our hypothesis. He stated that he could pick a few random locations and see if he could find the leak to repair it. Or he could replace the whole line, but that work (replacing the whole line) would have to be scheduled because he did not have the right tools with him. He also informed me that he would put the dirt back but would not make an attempt to put the sod back. I thanked him and ended the service call and felt that this was a complete waste of my time. I have no intention of bringing this company out to do any work. If they cannot arrive in a timely manner the first time, how can I trust them to arrive on time for scheduled work? Again, I found them to be unprofessional, not punctual, and poor in communicating to their customer what was happening and why there were delays.

Nothing against the plumber. He was nice and did a fine job and is just following the company policies. My problem is with the owners and Angie's list "deal" or lack thereof. So called $79 drain cleanout that is supposed to be bargain is anything but. This is what the deal says: "Here's the Deal: $79 for cleaning one sewer or indoor drain Includes video inspection of one drain line or branch line. The Real Deal: Over time, sewer pipes can become clogged with tree roots, debris from burrowing animals, and other underground items. Hire a pro to unclog your main sewer line--or a standard indoor drain--and and receive a video inspection as a bonus!" This deal does not involve cleaning or unclogging whatsoever. Completely fradulent and deceptive advertising. The $79 is to pay for the person to show up and use the video camera to tell you the obvious that it's clogged. I think the backed up water told me the same thing for free. I've had the drain snaked before because I could tell you there's algae and the usual muck that clogs drains. I just wanted a $79 drain cleaning. I purchased this because it said "cleaning one sewer or indoor drain". I'm not going to pay $79 to remove a P trap if you consider that cleaning. That would be a complete rip off. I think if you're going to say clean a drain that means using a snake. Why else would $79 be a deal? The fine print even says "Must have accessible clean-out on drain line for service"... what else are you going to do with a clean out on the drain besides snake a drain? There was an access panel in place already. Just needed to be snaked. I can't take off another day of work to wait for another plumber so I was stuck paying $268 to have a drain snaked. Abacus will do it for $123. I paid double, basically, despite purchasing a "deal". Angie's list is really starting to seem worthless to me.

Good service and professional

Was disappointed that if I bought the camera package that they didn't come prepared to do what I requested when I booked. The service man was very nice - this is the second time I've used this company- and have gotten good service but any extras seem WAY overpriced both times.

I called their office and spoke to the receptionist to speak to the owner. I also called back and left a message but I never heard back from them. I was very upset and disappointed with this provider.

Did not contact me within 3 days. Emailed to tell me when they were coming (did not ask if it was okay). Did not show up for appointment (called 1 hour and 45 minutes into scheduled window). I was unable to reschedule at that time. Emailed asking for a call to reschedule and have not heard back 3 days later. I do not recommend this business because they are unresponsive.
