Charles R Boren

Mr. Boren gave us his business card which said Engineering Services, Windstorm Inspections. Licensed/Certified Wood Destroying Insect, Insurablility & Water Damage, and P & C Adjuster (Property and Casualty). He said the inspection would be $400.00 and that he would forward the information to the engineer. I told him I though he was an engineer. He said he worked for the engineer. He was to get back with me after he sent the information to the engineer and I should hear from him in 2 weeks. I didn't hear from him so I called him. He said the engineer decided to pass on our carport because it was unusual. So I asked him for my money back or I would call the Better Business Bureau. I didn't hear from him so I contacted the Better Business Bureau who contacted the Texas Department of Insurance because his card said he was licensed P & C adjuster so it would go under the State of Texas. The Texas Department of Insurance called me and sent me a letter saying they had no jurisdiction because it would be under the Engineering Department of the State of Texas. The Texas Department of Insurance did say that Mr. Boren should have given me some paperwork on the Windstorm Complaince based on evaluation, calculation and other substantiating documentation including test reports on my carport. I got no documentation at all. The State of Texas also said he mislead me listing Engineering on the card. Mr. Boren called very angry after the State of Texas called him and told me he wouldn't give me my money back and cursed me. I also contacted the Texas State Board of Professional Engineers and they sent me a letter saying Mr. Boren has destroyed his business cards with the misleading title of Engineering Services and is no longer performing Windstorm Inspections. Mr. Boren did not perform at all. He kept our money and did not complete any of the services promised. His card also says he does Termites, Property and Casualty Adjusting, and Insurability and Water Damage. After this experience I would not use this person as he is dishonest and will keep your money and not deliver any services.
