ULTRA WINDOWS

We purchased 41 custom Okna 900 series composite double pane windows with Low-E55/27 & Argon panes and internal and external grids from Ultra Windows. Following more than a year of painstaking research and shopping for windows in a market place full of high-pressured sales pitches, exaggerated performance claims, and often times, contradictory information, the sales process with Randy was refreshingly informative, professional, and low-keyed. Negotiations on the final window price and installation were matter-of-fact and fair. Jorge and his dream team of window installers were among the most professional tradesmen to have ever worked on our home. Each day of the week-long installation process was characterized by thorough preparation, non-stop work, and perfectionistic cleanup. Along the way, Jorge eagerly answered all of our questions and addressed any of our concerns with his immediate attention. The Okna windows with straight-lined caulking have transformed the street appeal of our west-facing 25+ year old home and continues to be the talk-on-the-block. The reduction of street noise has been exceptional, and more importantly, we have already seen a drop in our electricity bill. We are very pleased with Ultra Windows and have recommended Randy to our friends and family.

We called Randy shortly after our home was gutted post-Harvey to get a quote to replace some windows. He explained the different options available and answered all of my questions. Very knowledgeable and professional. Very good communication. We’ve had a lot of let-downs with our rebuild thus far - but Randy’s team was incredible and actually lifted our spirits. Everything looks perfect! They even put down drop cloths and cleaned up after themselves :). While we were not able to replace ALL of the windows due to the other rebuilding costs we have right now, we will definitely be calling him back soon!

The whole operation of the installation went very smoothly! The leader of the crew, Jorge, was available and very accommodating to all my questions I had. I trusted the crew to do a wonderful job and they delivered so. My home was left absolutely clean, and I am enjoying the benefits of five beautiful windows. We replaced approximately 50 windows in our home with Okna 500 DX double hung vinyl windows. The windows are beautiful, quiet and our home feels very comfortable. We talked with at least three different window dealers and considered NT presidential windows as well as Anderson. We absolutely made the best decision! While the window quality is important, who installs them is equally if not more important. Randy and his crew are honest, professional and very attentive to details. They were in our home for 6 days and each day when they left, their tools were neatly stored and there was no trash anywhere. In this day and age, it is refreshing to find a company that prides itself in quality work and great customer service.

Before being referred to Randy, I sat through a long dreadful sales pitch just to hear a totally discouraging price 2 hours later. I called Randy the next day & he sent me a quote within 5 minutes! He answered all my questions & didn’t make me feel pressured to use his services at all. His work crew is very friendly & they did such a phenomenal job. They took their time to do everything very precisely & didn’t miss a single detail throughout the job. They were also careful when moving my furniture & they left no mess behind at all. Randy Sweringen was very responsive; quote given same day. The price was a bit higher than others I received (he did work with me on price), but I liked the product and the team, i.e. it's a small team that has worked together for several years and wouldn't be subcontracting. Had vinyl windows and fiberglass patio window/door installed to replace wood windows in old house. It took about 5.5 weeks to start. The team starts late as they come from outside Houston, but they work solidly - consistently arrived by 10:30 am and worked until 7 pm or so. The work seemed to be done quickly and efficiently; any questions I had were answered immediately. They were at the house 2 days (what was quoted - the patio window/door took a full day) and left the place tidy each day. Randy checked in to ensure things were okay. I would highly recommend.

Ultra Windows is absolutely the very best. This is the 3rd and final set of windows to be replaced in our house. All our windows are now energy efficient. All three of the installations were without a problem. The guys who do the installation are very professional, very courteous, and very skilled in the installation of windows. The after installation cleanup was excellent. It was a good experience from start to finish. I highly recommend Ultra Windows.

I highly recommend Ultra Windows if you are replacing your windows. This past January, they installed 31 windows in our home. We selected Don Young thermally broken aluminum windows with perimeter grids (also called modified prairie grid). I had multiple quotes from five or six vendors, and I researched each vendor and window offering thoroughly. I chose Ultra Windows because of the positive reviews and positive comments on forums, high rating with the Better Business Bureau, and because of the owner Randy?s knowledge about proper window installation and window construction. Randy was very patient in explaining all of the positive and negative aspects of each type of window and in assisting us in making the best selection for our home. Randy?s team was courteous and respectful of our home and belongings. Randy uses the same people on his team and has been working with them for years. The foreman, George, was great about communicating and asking questions when needed on my preferences for certain aspects of the installation. George did a thorough inspection of each window at the end of the job. He noticed a scratch on the inside of one of the windows that I didn?t even notice and ordered a replacement window. Randy would not accept the final payment until the replacement window was installed and I was completely satisfied with the work. This shows his level of commitment to producing excellent work. While I was pretty nervous about replacing our windows, I am so glad we had the work done because we LOVE our new windows! They are very well made and look beautiful, and I expect many years of enjoyment of these windows.

We were extremely pleased with the professionalism of all of the workers. George and his crew were, perhaps, some of the best workers we have ever had in our home. Randy did a great job of making sure that we were pleased throughout the process.

Ultra Windows showed up on time, were very professional and performed carefully, removing my old existing windows and installing new energy efficient windows. They look beautiful. They were able to get to my job faster than expected due to another job being rescheduled. They were very professional and did an excellent job. Everything fit and they cleaned up after they were finished. Will definitely use them again in the future.

This is the 2nd time we have used Randy. You simply will not find a contractor who does a better job of taking care of your house and taking care of his business. Will only sell top notch windows and his pricing is competitive. He will never talk bad about another company - simply point out the differences in the product. His crew has been with him for 13 years!! They clean up as they go and every day. You could not tell they were there when they finished the job. Would recommend for everyone!!

I first met Randy in June for a proposal. I awarded my contract to Ultra Windows in September and the installation was in November. The installation was scheduled 5 weeks after I placed my order. I was pleased with the timing and never felt rushed into a decision. Randy gave me references and even suggested that I visit a current work site to actually see the installation process. I highly recommend future customers take the time to visit an installation site to see how the windows are installed and the attention to detail by the crew. Overall, I had an outstanding experience. The windows are a great product and Randy has an excellent installation crew! I give Ultra Windows my compliments for an outstanding job well done. From the initial sales visit to the installation crew, I could not have been happier. Randy does a good job trying to educate his customers. Randy presents different products and gives his customer the information they need to make an educated decision. The installation crew really performs. They kept me informed of their schedule and took the necessary precautions to keep my home protected and clean. My new windows really look great on my 1970 ranch house. I agree with other reviewers with Randy and his crew?s incredible attention to detail. You simply can?t go wrong with Ultra Windows! I only wished all contractors lived up to Randy's quality and sales standards. I was a pleasure working with Randy and his crew. At the completion of my job, I told Randy how lucky he is to have such a skilled installation crew that really took care of my property like it was their own. They took the necessary precautions to protect my furniture and cleaned up each day. Very, very happy with the results.

House is a 50 Year old ranch. They came out, measured and gave their pitch. Never ever said an ugly word about the competition, they let their positive references stand for themselves. The install was flawless, they actually removed the glass rather than breaking it, no shards for the little one to get into. The house is quieter and the electric bill is lower and they look way better than windows on the street that cost 3x as much. These guys are pros.

From the first phone call to the job was finished everything was GREAT. Randy explained all about the products and then what we could do. I had many different window from regular to huge to arches to side window by the door. He was able to come up with solutions to every one of them. When the schedule was made to install his team showed up they were so professional and knew exactly what they are doing. The detail that they apply to the installation and clean up was beyond expectations. With the replacement of every window and door in my house I expected it to be a nightmare. Never at any time was it anything but smooth. I not only have windows that have changed the complete appearance of my home to a big difference in the cooling and the quietness. I bought the bronze which have even made my brick look better. I love the product . It is a pleasure to work with Randy and he makes every thing just run so smooth and I knew from the first appointment I was dealing with an honest and very up front gentleman.

I would suggest that everyone who reads this review ask Randy Swearingen to bid their project. Randy is the consummate professional, a really nice person and he knows what he is talking about. A friend of mine whose husband did a lot of research recommended Ultra to me. Ultra's prices were extremely competitive. I have since recommended Randy's company to another friend of mine, who by the way was so pleased with their new windows. Randy came out to my home, we discussed what I wanted done and he explained to me the various types of windows and their attributes and with his help, I made an informed decision. The installation process went great. Randy has a crew that has been with him a long time and they have the installation process down pat. They were all so nice, very professional, came to my home on time, did a great clean-up job and my windows are wonderful. I will use Ultra again and I would not hesitate to recommend Randy and his company. You will not be disappointed with Ultra windows and you will appreciate Randy's knowledge and experience. He is a great guy and he has a great company.

Ordered windows and patio door 3/27/14. Installed 5/30/14. Recent rains caused delay in installation. Last minute call to install, hoping for no rain that day. Rain held off. Installation completed in one day--except for minor problem with screen. Had to reorder part to finish installing screen, which was completed 6/13/14. Randy Swearingen/Ultra Winidows, most professional and knowledgeable of the ones I'd called for an estimate. Although not the least expensive, Randy uses an experienced team to install the windows and assured me of a quality job. And he was right. The team of 3 were on-time, worked continuously and quietly throughout the day. Additional caulking used around window and door opening before installing the windows + finish caulking after windows were securely installed ensured a really tight seal all around. Finish caulking was picture perfect. And clean up was even better than what I could have done--swept, vacuumed, hauled away the smallest debris. We are very satisfied with the Ultra Window team!

First, Randy's price was mid-range, but his customer service, response was excellent. His four man crew was efficient, courteous and professional. Ours was a real stucco job, more time consuming than most. They were ina and out in about 7 hours. Attention to detail was ridiculous. OCD may be a good description. Quality of work was outstanding. They took the time to do it right, including taking precautions to keep the dust to a minimum and the clean up after finishing the installations. I can't say enough good things about Randy and his crew!

Randy was fast in responding to my inquiry. He came out and took at look at the existing windows and explained all the options. At first I was fairly set on getting fiberglass windows, but then after talking with Randy and doing some research of my own I came to the conclusion that the better U-values of fiberglass don't making too much difference in the typically warm climate of Houston (since it is large temperature gradients in winter where U-values come into play most). Therefore after Randy quoted me both fiberglass and aluminum windows, I decided to go with the aluminum which were a better value for us. I believe his price was fair since his quote for Inline fiberglass windows was only slightly higher than that for Pella fiberglass windows and I think the Inline is considered to be a higher quality window. The windows were ordered and delivered with a few weeks and the actual installation went very smoothly. The speed and quality of the installation was impressive. It took only 2 days for Randy's guys to do all 17 windows. They look very nice and are perfectly caulked. The guys also cleaned up meticulously which seems fairly rare for most service people. They also fixed a rotten board and installed some new trim at no additional cost. At first we were going to try and match the old windows which were painted a cream white, but then we found that the aluminum windows only come in a few colors, so we decided to go with the dark ("bronze") color. We are happy with our choice.

From the beginning, Randy was great to work with. He patiently went through the window options, provided some suggestions, and helped us pick out which windows to use. No silly heat lamp demos, and no high pressure sales techniques. I did take bids from other companies who were both higher priced and unpleasant to work with. I felt confident I was getting a fair price for a quality product and installation. He really talked up his installation crew and their methods - and he was right. They were very thorough and knew what they were doing. They worked diligently and patiently to complete the job correctly. On top of that, they were super nice guys that I enjoyed chatting with. I would enthusiastically recommend doing business with Ultra Windows to anyone looking to replace windows.

We had at least 8 windows contractors at the house to provide estimates. They ranged from bargain-basement, too-good-to-be-true newspaper advertisers to too-high-priced-to-consider brand names. In the end there were two who offered the right window (the same window from both). But it was Randy from Ultra Windows who offered the right combination of the right window and the best installation technique. And he had my trust. He and his crew fully delivered on that trust. They got the windows ordered quickly, and kept me informed about delivery dates. As others have said, his crew was very concientious in controlling the dust and mess. (Look, a little dust is inevitable.) And they did an excellent job of cleaning up each day. The crew leader noticed a small problem with one of the special order windows as delivered by the mfr. Rather than accept it, they insisted the window be re-made correctly. It caused a brief delay in finishing the job, but what's a few weeks when the windows will be there for 20 years? Just an example of the attention to detail in ordering and installing that Randy and his crew provides. Regarding price: Several bidders tried the initial price, here's a "good if you buy today only" lower price , and after they didn't hear from me, here's my "last ditch desperation offer to get your job" price. Ultra Window's one-and-only price was right in there with the other guy's desperation price. What that means is (and I understand this would be difficult for some) but my recommendation would be to call Ultra Windows first, and if he has what you need, go with it. Spare yourself the parade of salesman from the other contractors.

They are fantastic, Randy the owner worked with us and got just what we wanted, the crew was neat and clean, and I would definitely recommend them.

.I had 4 separate contractors prepare estimates for replacement windows for my house. Randy Swearingen with Ultra Windows was the last one I called so I had heard all of the sales tactics the others used. He didn't realize he was the last bidder so I let him give me his sales pitch. He was the only one my wife and I felt totally comfortable with during the sales presentation. He covered the sales tactics the other companies would use and explained what was valid and what was gimmick. He recommended certain products but also suggested I research them specifically before deciding. I also had him quote a front door and a glass door in front of it. He recommended against the glass door but suggested I just do the front door and try it for a few weeks. If I still wanted the glass door, he could have his crew come back and add it. Ultra Windows wasn't the cheapest but wasn't the most expensive and after a bit more research, we made our decision to go with Ultra. We received a call that the windows had arrived in the timeframe he had given us and we set up a day to have them delivered and for the work to start. The windows arrived as scheduled and the workers arrived shortly after. It didn't take long to realize that the crew had quite a bit of experience working together installing windows. They definitely knew what they were doing. The bulk of the window install was done in one day with the door and finish work done the next day. The supervisor laid the caulking and did a totally amazing job at it. He was a true artist.After taking the glass out of the old windows, collapsing the frames to remove them, filling the gaps (some companies don't mention or do this), putting in the replacement windows, and caulking them, the house and yard were as clean or cleaner than when they started. I had just put engineered hardwood in the house along with baseboard and trim around the exterior doors. I had some additional material so I could finish out the front door when they were finished but they trimmed everything out as part of the job. A few weeks later, my wife still wanted the glass door so I called and had them order it. A few weeks later, they came out and installed it. They were total professionals throughout the entire project. I had asked for "rain" glass for the bathroom window but they missed it and I didn't catch that they had missed it on their estimate. Randy was great about it and replaced 4 panes to ensure we were satisfied with everything. Due to some nonrelated (medical) issues, we had to lower our thermostat 5 degrees shortly after the windows were installed so I don't have a good apples to apples comparison of electricity used before and after but before the install, we could feel cold air dropping off of the window sills and going down the wall and since the install, the temperature in the house is consistent even near the windows regardless of how cold or hot it is outsie. The quality of the workmanship looked good when we had the windows and doors installed and it has held up well. I would definitely recommend Ultra Windows for replacement windows and doors.

I would recommend Ultra Windows to anyone in the Bryan/College Station area. I met with 5 different window contractors from both local and big box businesses, and Randy Swearingen with Ultra Windows was BY FAR the most knowledgeable about his products and the easiest to contact . His prices were not the cheapest (only a hundred dollars or so difference), but his customer service and quality of work more than made up for what little price difference there was. His crew was always on time, very trustworthy (no subcontractors), and they did an outstanding job. There was absolutely no hidden costs or fees with the install. What we saw on the estimate was EXACTLY what we paid (Watch out, most companies that I met with didn't want to admit that they "sometimes" charge extra for things like re-hanging the blinds, lead paint testing, and disposal, but not Ultra Windows). To boot, the product that he installed was manufactured right here in Texas! We decided to replace our old windows and door as part of a VA IRRRL, and we ended up with a loan officer than made so many mistakes that it seemed like she had never closed on a home with the VA before. Oftentimes we were given false information that delayed the funding process, and thus the payment to Ultra Windows. Randy was always courteous, understanding, and much more patient than I was through this whole process. You should choose Ultra Windows, believe me, I've met with everyone else in the area, and they're the best!

Owner Randy spent a lot of time educating us about windows, and did a great job of guiding us through the evaluation and selection of new windows. The Ultra Windows installation crew did a magnificent job removing the old and installing new windows. They carefully maintained a clean work site, and did an outstanding job on the critical installation work. New windows were installed square and level, in spite of dealing with irregularities in framing and squareness of openings. Every window was very carefully foam sealed against air penetration and well caulked to resist water penetration. The entire job was completed in two days. We looked at several bids from area window companies, and found that Ultra Windows pricing was considerably lower than the others, for a product that is at least as good, if not better, than much more expensive alternatives. We couldn't be more pleased with the project. Ultra Windows gets our highest recommendation.
