+ -1 moreI had a wonderful experience with South Coast Movers. I have and will continue to recommend them to family and friends. Especially for small item moves - they did not require a full truck to accommodate me.
Description of Work: I had a wonderful experience with South Coast Movers. I have had several bad experiences with movers over the years, and was surprisingly impressed by this Team. They were able to accommodate me on short notice (called for a within city move), gave me a reasonable price for moving large items + heavy treadmill + several heavy boxes of books. They were prompt on arrival, took great care with protecting my furniture and items, and efficiently moved everything without complaint (despite having multiple large, heavy items needing to be carried to a second floor. I appreciated their professionalism.

+ -1 moreThey offered two ways of billing. One would be based on fixed charges for certain household goods. The other would be time based charges. I selected time based. They estimated a five hour move, but it took over eight hours. The method of estimating the time to move me was based on an assessment of how many bedrooms I was moving. That method did not account for my non-bedroom goods, so the job took a lot longer than estimated. It is good to be the first appointment on moving day. Two of the three person crew were experienced. One was not as careful as the others, but there were few mishaps.
Description of Work: Loaded household goods and moved them to a new residence.

+ -1 moreOVERALL I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY COULD NOT JUDGE THEIR CAPABILITIES BETTER AND LET US KNOW EARLIER THAT WE NEEDED TO USE ANOTHER MOVER. MY CONTACT "CHANCE" SEEMED TO BE OVERWORKED OR DISORGANIZED OR BOTH.
Description of Work: THIS COMPANY SHOWED UP OCTOBER 2 WITH A TRAILER THAT WAS TOO SMALL TO ACCOMMODATE OUR NEEDS. THEY SAID THEY WOULD "GET" WITH THE OFFICE AND LET US KNOW WHAT THEY COULD DO. THE OFFICE CALLED BACK AND SAID THEY WOULD SHOW UP WITH A TRUCK ON 10/7 TO MOVE US BUT CALLED ON 10/4 AND SAID THEY COULD NOT DO THE JOB. THEY HAD QUOTED A PRICE OF $1300 TO MOVE US BUT OF COURSE THEY DID NOT MOVE US.
