Perez Discount Concrete Work

Good responsiveness. Kept me up to date on weather delays. Neighbor complained worker left food trash.

The owner came out the same day, he was very nice, professional and the only reason we didn't go with him was because we got another recommendation. We really wish we would have used this company instead.

I originally contacted Perez Discount Concrete via e-mail. I wrote back and forth with Jose Perez. He seemed pretty straight forward, and gave me a good price. He sent out his son Marcus to take a look at the job. He showed and took measurements. I did a little more research on the company before hiring them. They had good feedback on Angie's List, and I saw they were in good standings with the BBB .I went ahead and told them I wanted to do the work. I was a little surprised when they said they could do it tomorrow since everyone else that gave me a quote was backed up 2-6 weeks. The day of the job Jose' s son Marcus showed around 9:00 AM with 5 workers. I was a little surprised that Jose was not there, since he is who I spoke with over the phone and via e-mail. I asked him where Jose was, and he explained to me that his dad was disabled. He said he does not work with them on jobs. I asked for a contract containing terms, and warranty info from him the previous evening. I was told that he would have one the next day at the job. There wasn't one.... During the course oft the day I saw that they were not doweling my pool like we discussed. I also saw that they were not forming any joint's. I asked Marcus where are the joints. He said oh I was just going to put in hand joints. I told him I needed to have joints in the pool deck. So I asked him to add them every 10-12 ft. After measuring later I discovered that he added them every 16ft, and in one spot 30 ft. Later on during the day Marcus began stamping my porch with a helper. They were suppose to use a texture mat. They tossed that out after the first few stamps.They seemed to have a hard time lining up the stamp. There were several spots were the stamp was relaid leaving a double stamp. I put a few pictures of it below. There were also ridges in between the stamps.. These could have been tooled out, but they left them. They also splashed concrete all over my walls, and did not bother to wash it off. I spent 3 hours trying to scrape up the dried concrete. I ended up just having to repaint the walls. All they had to do was wash off the walls while the concrete was wet. If you look in the pictures you can also see how crooked there forms were on my patio. They were also suppose to cut out a section of my patio 3'x3'. They asked to borrow my jack hammer, and then ended up telling me that they didn't charge me for that so it was going to be extra. AHHHH. They left trash all over my yard, and left form board nails all in my yard. My kids could have stepped on them. Skip to 1 week later. I already have a big crack in the sidewalk around the pool. Then I got another one 3 weeks later. This one was big enough to fit a quarter in. That's 2 cracks within the first month. I forgot to write about the water standing. t I have enclosed pictures of that here as well. I have water standing in several places, because they did not use a level to slope the concrete. I could go on but just look at the pictures.

From the time I called until the project was completed, things could not have gone better. The came when they said they would. They worked hard while they were here. When they left, they told me when they would be back. It was a pleasure to work with thiem.

Please be aware of this guy if you do not want to waste your time!! I saw he got 3 A's on Angies so I called him. He did not show up on the first appointment and he did not call. He did not show up on the 2nd appointment and he did not call. He promised on the phone the 3rd time that he would definitely come over on Saturday. Guess what still no showing up... This guy is the most unprofessional contractor I've ever met!

My experience went very well. Jose Perez returned all my phone calls and text messages promptly. He answered my many questions without hesitation. He and his crew showed up when stated. I didn't have to call him to prod him to finish my job which was part of the problem with my previous contractor. He completed the job as stated in the contract. I would definitely use him again myself or would not hesitate to recommend his company.

I got the phone number of Mr. Perez through Angie's list and he called me right away and he talked to my husband and went to the house and gave us an estimate . He came when he said he would and did the job on time and finished it on time as well . It was a very pleasant experience and I would call him again for other repair jobs in the future . i would highly recommend him.

I thought his price was reasonable. I am happy with the work. My neighbors have even hired them for work as well.
