All got done but not without delays and complaining about the quality of work done.

The floor guy did not show up as scheduled and would not return the owner’s calls. I am stuck with all the items for the job and no one to do it. Owner cannot get tile go to return his calls. The job needed 2 people so nothing was done

We called Mr. Handyman and set a time to power wash at our home. We called a couple of days after appointment was set to confirm time. After waiting an hour and Mr. Handyman not showing up, we called and was told he was running late due to traffic. He finally showed up over an 1 1/2 hours late and said he first needed to run some errands and then had to stop to get gas before he could get to the job. This type of work ethic was not acceptable and we cancelled.

It went well. The crew was on time and did a good job overall.

We ended up paying a service charge even though the contractor couldn't install the floating vanity.

I found them on Angie's List. It is like a chain, I think. The estimate was free. He showed up on time when he was supposed to and he actually came out pretty quickly after we contacted him. When I called Mr. Handyman they basically wanted me to have an idea of what I needed done so that they could give a quote over the phone, but then I talked to the lady on the phone for a little while and she said maybe I should send them an email detailing everything. So I sent the email the following day and then I got the phone call from the guy the following day after that and he said based on the email he thought he needed to come and check it out so that he could give me an estimate. He came out on a Saturday which was very convenient for me. Then he went through everything and discussed what he could do so I think he was very attentive and very willing to work with me to figure out how to do it. In order to improve I think the only thing was sort of a follow up. They were a little bit pushy afterwards. They contacted me, like, three times after that and I told them it was not my top priority right now. I want to get some other estimates so I can get an idea about how the price compares.

He did fine.They did excellent work and the man was very friendly but I thought that the whole charge...the way they charged you just for coming out and you got charged a certain amount per hour. I mean there is a flat fee for performing certain services. I thought that would have been better than charging hourly. I thought they were pretty high. The thing is, they charge you for the full hour even if they are just 15 minutes over...which he was.

This is the second review for the same work that had not been completed as scheduled. All I can say is their technician saved their reputation. Duane did an excellent job on the installation which was not an ordinary job, he installed the storm door over a set of french doors. We are very happy with his work and would gladly ask for him again. Duane has saved this company from getting an F in ratings, great knowledge on how and what to do to get a satisfied customer. My only complaint with this office is that Sharon does not know how to schedule and clearly does not know how to satisfy customers. If you schedule with this company only schedule in the morning, Sharon does not seem to know how long jobs take and has a poor handle on scheduling.

I called then to repair/replace a gate to my backyard; so my dog could not get out of the yard. The response was prompt. On time for our appointment, ready to work. He evaluated the job; explained my options, estimated repair and replacement costs. He obtained the needed repair parts. Promptly repaired my gate to my satisfaction. I was very satisfied and would highly recommend their service. We actually discussed several other projects to be completed at a later date.

The estimate right off the bat was going to include labor costs for 2 people to go run errands and get a ladder. I was upset with the pricing model and did not want to use the company.

I haven't been able to locate a trustworthy, fairly priced contractor/handyman in the Texas City area. Seeing the $408 all day for electric/handyman work, I joined Angie's List to take advantage of this deal. Signed up, signed into Angie's List.com and filled out an information page of what I wanted done with pictures. I was contacted within the next few days by Mr. Handyman. They informed me that the charge was $88 and hour +$52.00 service call, not the $408 I saw on Angieslist.com On the scheduled day two men arrived, two hours late. I had the parts here but, they needed to be exchanged. I went to take them back and was told by the senior tech that he was standing around getting paid anyway, I should let him go get the new fixtures. He was gone for 2 hours to the Lowe's that is 2 miles from my house. At the end of the job I was informed that I would only be charged for one tech, $88 not $116, per hour because the 2nd tech was a trainee. Duane, was the trainee and did the majority of the work himself. He was professional, explained things, examined work to be done and explained what needed to be done. He worked the entire time he was here and his work was excellent. They arrived at 3:15, left 6:45. The job was finished properly and looked good. I then received a bill for $701.48. The senior tech explained that the cost of the light fixtures was $288.00. I told him I was there yesterday to buy the materials and knew that they were only $129.00 and asked to see the receipt. He got the receipt and said that he had to charge and extra 40% for going to get the materials. After a heated discussion he removed the charge. The final bill was $661.63 for 4 hours labor, $52 service charge (the rest was for supplies) FOR TWO FLUORESCENT FIXTURE REPLACEMENTS AND DROPPED LINE (maybe 8') from attic to light switch. MR. HANDYMAN CHARGES $52 FOR SERVICE CALL, $88 PER HOUR, 40% ON MATERIALS. Not the $408 I had been expecting from the listing on Angieslist.com nor was the work performed by the company that Angieslist.com had sent me via email when I filled out the online service request. When I called Angieslist.com I was told the difference in price was online, prepaid services only, not the online services. BIG MISUNDERSTANDING.

$700 to change out fixtures.... Mr Handyman charges the same hourly rate ($88 pre-tax and fees) no matter the job or the skill level of the handy man they dispatch. These guys have no incentive to work efficiently. The first guy they sent out spent nearly 4 hours to change 2 vanity light plates and troubleshoot removing the existing tub and shower fixtures. The latter he was unable to accomplish and said he would have to come back with a different tool. Mr Handyman dispatched a different guy to complete the job. He spent another 4 hours changing out the fixtures and "retrieving parts" from his van (smoke breaks). He wanted to cut metal fixtures and bathtub panels, probably to drag out the job. I (a female with no experience) was able to remove the fixtures myself and avoid the more invasive approach he suggested. I expressed my concerns that I was double paying for the time the 2 spent to troubleshoot something seemingly simple. I was given a 1 hour discount, but could not use that with the $50 off coupon and was charged the "1 time" dispatch fee of $52 again. The second handyman told me that the first guy was inexperienced and the dispatcher misinformed me of the fee being 1x. Rip-off either way. Will never employ at an hourly rate again and in hindsight, I wish I would have attempted the job myself.

Everything went well. They were professional and stayed aware of our needs the whole time. They worked diligently and was prompt and professional.

I've been happy with them. The price was fair and I was pleased when they came out. They've always been on time and got the job done.

We set up an estimate with Mr. Handyman to have the corbels on the front of our home removed since one of them had some wood rot. The employee arrived during the scheduled window but didn't provide a written estimate. Had them check out a shower that needed repairs while they were here and they said they'd look in to whether or not they could make the repairs. Head from the company about a week later asking if we were interested in scheduling the original repairs. Told them I needed a breakdown of the requested repairs plus additional repairs they had suggested, and also asked what the response was on the shower repair. Never received a response with the estimate. Contact with this company is difficult. They have some sort of issue where there email address and response address aren't the same, meaning every time you reply to their email, your email will bounce. Instead you have to find the other email address and send a message to that one.

Bruce arrived promptly at 8:00 and they went to Academy. They came back to the house and he took down the old rusy basketball backboard (about 20 years old). They bought a very nice one for about $100.00 and my husband paid for the backboard since he went with Bruce. Bruce did all the installing, however; my husband held up the backboard while he was using his tools to screw it into the pole. Our old pole was fine and we didn't have to buy a new pole. He did a fantastic job and I would recommend him if you get calls for this type of work. However, it is a two man job. This is a great Handyman service. The price was right and my husband and I are really thrilled. Now my grandchildren can play basketball again. Thanks Mr. Handyman.

Damage caused by poorly directed outside sprinkler system, got into inside of house because of poor window design, Mr. Handyman personnel assessed the problem accurately and made necessary repairs. Hopefully insured that similar damage will not reoccur.

The service was excellent. All went well and I will use this company again.

Bruce got there on time and did a great job. We had a little misunderstanding about the price , but talked to the owner and he got it taken care of and was very kind..

The Handyman worker arrived promplty and quickly reviewed the work areas and started work. The worker, Erasmo, did the dry wall repairs first and it was obvious he knew what he was doing. My botched repair jobs were quickly erased. We have had foundation shifting and subsequent leveling has not put everything back square so the door work was difficult but Erasmo knew how to make it work. Mr Ratjen came for the final inspection. The job took two days as was projected and all the work was done satisfactorily.

Painted bedroom and a very small bathroom, new baseboards in bedroom. Cost included materials with the exception of paint. On time, worked quickly. The owner of the company stopped by to check on things and introduced himself adding a personal touch. The only disconnect was what I wanted to the dispatcher and what the painter thought was to be done so be very clear in outlining your project.

He was able to use the same wood and replaced the trim on 2 of the doors. He painted the trim re replaced. He also took off the broken storm door and put a new one in. The guy who came to estimate it wasn't the guy who came to fix it. The estiamte was around $1500. They gave me the impression that they would adjust the cost if the time was different. They took a few trips to go back in forth to the store to buy supplies.

Bruce arrived on time and was very professional during the entire job. He repaired the two gutter seams at elevated height very quickly. The seams are holding good with no leaks after several heavy rains. I would highly recommend this provider for small handyman jobs around the house.
