The wait for installation was long and when scheduled, they called to "reschedule" due to the installer. Apparently they use outside contractors to install. When they showed up, they worked hard but one installer left for over 2 hours, leaving on one to work. They did not want to quit and come back (found out they get paid by the job and couldn't pick up a new job until ours was finished. They left the house at 10:05 PM. The salesman put the wrong transitions in the order despite numerous conversations. They also installed the shoe molding around our kitchen island wrong. I went to store in Pearland the next day. My salesman had been transferred and I met with the District Manager. It took over a week to get anyone back out to fix and then they brought the wrong transitions again. I called the District Manager and complained. She told me they weren't there to fix the island until I asked her to check the paperwork and she admitted it was on the work order. After numerous phone calls, the installers went to Home Depot and came back with something that would work. They were nice and got it fixed. The carpet was scheduled later and when they showed up, they pulled the old pile carpet and told me that the defects in the staircase would show up if they installed the berber carpet. I asked why the salesman didn't discuss that with me. He said the salesmen don't install. They suggested I fix the staircase, repaint it and call them back. I got it fixed and called the store. The District Manager told me it would be 3 weeks before they could come back even though the installer said it would take less than 2 hours to install it. I have called back and asked to improve the installation. They said they send an email to installation but I am still waiting a week later. I am calling the COO in Houston tomorrow. The first 2 times I used Floors for Living, they were privately owned but have been purchased by another company. The entire process was much different and less congenial. I won't ever use them again and caution anyone thinking about it to check multiple review sources.

Very pleased with the product, delivery, and installation. We ordered at the Missouri City store where Carlos gave us a warm welcome and was patient as we searched for our oversize requirements. Then Carlos came out personally to verify our measurements. Appreciate the follow-up that Carlos provided. Thanks ! Linda

All the right things were said, and Carlos was patient as we looked for the perfect tile flooring to fit our home. Carlos explained that we would discuss the plan of room completion with the installer when they arrived. He also stated that we would need four days to complete our installation mentioning the 300sq ft per day installation cap. My experience was great until it came time for the installation to occur. The Friday before our scheduled installation start date, we received a call that the installer would call us between 8am - 10am Monday. I rearranged my schedule so I could receive the call and oversee the start of the project before moving out of the way to allow the work to be done. I looked up at the clock between house tasks and realized it was almost 10am, and I had not heard from anyone. I remember Carlos saying that if the installers didn't show up on time and I had not heard from them, give him a call. When I called him, he told me that it wasn't 10am yet, at 9:57am, and that things happen, but he would check into it and let me know. I then received a call saying I should hear from the installer soon and, if they didn't contact me in 15 or 30 minutes, to let him know. I messaged Carlos at 11:13am, informing him that I had received no call nor had anyone shown up at my home yet. He messaged me back, saying that the installer was 10 minutes away. Finally, the installer showed up with, possibly, his significant other at 11:55am. Although very nice, they were just as lost about the situation as I was. It was concerning that they did not know where my tile was supposed to be installed nor how it was to be installed, but we could not communicate with each other due to their limited English and my limited Spanish. I then went to call Carlos and realized that I had received a message from the installer via WhatsApp around 10:30am notifying me of his arrival at 11:30am. It caught me off guard as I do not conduct business through WhatsApp, nor have I contacted anyone from this company on the platform. Carlos responded to my concern by saying, "Not sure how they'd contact you that way but do apologize." The installer started working, and I walked down the hall to grab a jacket as it was getting cold, with the door open for access to material, tools, and power to set everything up. The installer then called for me to check his initial work before proceeding. He had completed 1/3 of our approximately 100sq ft room. Unfortunately, the long tile was laid in the wrong direction. He nicely started pulling up the tile to lay it back down correctly. This was unexpected since I had to sign paperwork stating the direction I preferred to have the tile I purchased installed. I called Carlos again, but he was no longer kind stating that it was his day off. I mentioned calling the store and was told he'd call the installation manager to see if he could call me. BUYER BEWARE: Once they have your money, there's NO customer service, and that equals a lifetime Warranty Nightmare

We were very pleased with our overall experience with Floors For Living. We had been shopping around for carpet and laminate flooring and Joshua was informative and helpful. The examples of laminate installed in the store helped us to make a decision along with Joshua’s expertise. The installation went well and Andrew called to follow up and make sure we were happy. I have already referred friends and family to the store! Happy that we found them!

Floors For Living – T. Laborde To Whom It May Concern: This past year was a difficult one. Our house in Kingwood that was never supposed to flood, did. Five feet in five hours. The aftermath was terrible. Shady fly-by-night contractors were coming out of the wood-work. Finding quality at a fair price was extremely difficult. As someone who works in construction and is a certified inspector, and also one who has access to lots of skilled labor and referrals, I can honestly say that I had it much better than most. But, it was really a struggle having to watch, inspect, argue and reargue quality. The one exception in this entire experience was working with Josh Whaley at Floors-For-Living. They were fantastic. FYI, I secured four quotations from other companies. Some were much higher. Floors For Living gave a very fair price. Not the cheapest, but when you consider the value of their warranty and the quality of their installers (Jorge Rodriguez- very professional, honest and polite), the quality of their surface preparation and their superior leveling system, grouts and adhesives, it was a total winner! No, I’m not a family member and I’m not getting anything for writing this. I just feel that FFL earned it with their outstanding performance. Also, as a side note, I used to own rental properties and I’ve worked with and replaced about 10-15 floors over the past 30+ years. This company put the other to shame. We’ve got a few other non-floor items to complete, but when neighbors and friends visit our home, they way WOW! The decision to use the wood-grained plank ceramic was a great one. My wife is a decorator and she wanted wood and was resistant to ceramic. Now, she is a believer also. I hope this helps you make an informed decision. I’m really happy with mine. Incidentally, I met the owner and shared my feelings about the project. Very impressive guy with a great business model built on quality and repeat business. Experience the difference! T. This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had in hiring a company to work on my home-and we once hired ex-felons to replace a roof. I was not informed that they hired the work out to any contractor who wants the job. Our new cabinets were badly damaged and dinged. The floor, which was supposed to be leveled throughout, has noticeable dips and slopes towards the walls where the leveler was not spread. Walls and furniture were left dirty. There is such poor communication and the store manager does not even know what is happening despite trying to have him resolve this issue several times. When I called the corporate office number, they refused to give the contact information of the store manager's supervisor. Instead, the store manager was contacted! I strongly suggest you find another company to install flooring for you. Once they get your money, they no longer care.

We removed and replaced the flooring on this job that was installed incorrectly. On top of that we paid to have the cabinets fixed. This costed a lot of money but our customer service team is the best in the industry (see our thousands of 5 star reviews) and we back up our work. We can only do so much but we appreciate the business and don’t forget to use the free cleaner we give you for 10 years as well as let us know if you have any issues that would fall under our “LIFETIME INSTALLATION WARRANTY”. Thanks
Things seem to be going fine during installation until the work began in the kitchen. The installers moved the refrigerator to do the flooring. Upon doing this, the installer broke/damaged the water line running from the refrigerator to the water valve in the wall. Totally unaware of this damage, the installer applied a thick silicone around the entire area where the valve was broken (I'm assuming to hide what he had done) and then he put a pair of pliers on the line to clamp it and cut off water flow. My mother's refrigerator was left pulled out with this clamp and silicone applied and told they would come back out to fix this. The installers NEVER showed. My mother called to inform Floors for Living what had happened. She was told someone would be sent out to look at it. No one ever showed. My mother tried to contact Floors for Living again and reached a stone wall. No one will take her calls. She is leaving messages and no one will return her calls. It's been over a month now and still no contact from Floors for Living. I am very disappointed with the lack of professionalism displayed. I feel my mother was taken advantage of as an elderly and with her having paid for the services in full, they have her money and are gone. She has been left with the responsibility of replacing her refrigerator (a KithchenAid side-by-side) out of her own pocket, and to date, no one has still reached back out to my mother regarding the damage or restitution regarding the damages. Now that my mother has purchased a new refrigerator (that she had to pay for) we are still having issues. The appliance installer could not get the refrigerator leveled to go back in it original location. We pulled out a leveler to only find that the entire section of that floor is warped and leaning. Floors for Living DID NOT level the floor before installation. Now we are having to rig the refrigerator installation by putting a board under it to get it to sit level in that space on the floor. Just awful and another reminder of the poor quality of work Floors for Living did for my mother at her home. She's now out of $3700 for the floor/carpet installation plus $200 she spent to get an appliance company to come out and diagnose how and what was broken on the refrigerator and then another $1800 she had to spend to replace the refrigerator that was damaged.
Description of Work: We hired Floors for Living to install vinyl flooring in my mother's home in both bathrooms and the kitchen. We also had new carpet installed in my mother's bedroom and the breakfast nook area.

Thanks for this review. First and foremost we don’t “level” floors. We simply make them as even as we can but in this case the foundation was not level at all which again isn’t our fault this is more of a builder issue. We have a sign off stating the appliances are supposed to be disconnected when we arrive, the fridge was not so we had to and we then seen that the line on the fridge was not only broken before we arrived but it was taped (see pictures customer attached). We did in good faith offer to replace the line but the client wanted us to purchase them a new refrigerator, which was not something we were going to do. As far as the installation we did we are sure it’s done to the customers liking and remember it is backed up with our lifetime install warranty. As far as the price goes this was purchased during our famous BOGO sale and $3700 was the discounted price as the total was normally over $4600 which is a substantial savings. Also please don’t forget to use the “free” cleaner we give you to make sure your floors look great for a long time. Sorry we are not in the appliance donating business but if there is any real issues with the flooring please let us know so we can get you taken care of.

Update 9/13/2020 ***Floors For Living contacted me the next day and sent somebody over right away. They were able to repair the issues quickly and professionally.*** The first part of the floor installation went okay, when they started on the stairs is where the problems started. The installers started to split the main supports under the stairs, and didn't think to stop until my wife told they to leave. Next I had to have the stairway replaced by another contractor. Now it come to the lifetime warranty. We had several tile become unattached and requested this done under the lifetime warranty (less than 5 years). First we were ignored, then a follow up call got us to the right person who put us on the schedule for a month in the future. I explained we were putting our house on the market and needed it fixed before then, but that was received by deaf ears. So I waited. The installers were to call this morning to let us know when they would be here and no call. We already have an offer on the house and the buyers inspector was here today. I called back to Floors for Living and could not reach anyone. I think I would suggest going with someone else!!!

Response from Floors For Living
All we can do is to try and take care of customers. Two years ago, after Harvey, the wood from his stairs was so compromised that the screws we use on every stair job to strengthen the bond between the stair treads and stringers would not even hold. Because Floors for Living does not do structural repairs, he hired a contractor to reinforce his stairs. We allowed him to cancel his special-order laminate that was to be glued to his steps without any restocking fee. Our personal loss on this job was $456.99. This review came two years later when he was trying to sell his home. The inspector questioned his contractor's work. Even though we were not involved in the reinforcement of the stairs we become the scapegoat. When trying to sell his home the customer had a concern regarding the tile installation done 2 years ago. First of all, no box store or 95% of other flooring stores would have gone to his home without a charge because of their 1 year or less warranty. We went on the day it was scheduled and discovered the real problem. We returned the next day to fix his problem even though we were aware that he had made several unfair reviews. The problem is that his foundation had settled and created a huge crack. The failure of the concrete floor caused the tiles to become loose. We worked to remove several tiles, bridge his crack with an isolation membrane, and reinstall the tiles. Even though it was not an installation created issue, we did the repair at no cost to him. If anyone would like to see the picture of his cracked concrete floor please email cs@floorsforliving.com. We wish him well on the sale of his home but do not feel that we should be blamed for the structural shortcomings of his stairs and his concrete floor. Again, all we can do is to try and take care of customers.

We wanted to do some flooring work for years and looked at many different options. Ultimately, we concluded that porcelain tile “wood-look” would be the right option for us and that Floors For Living would be the right place. We had the work done several months ago and couldn’t be more pleased. From the quality of the service in store while working with Sam B to the installation headed by Orlando, the entire process went smoothly. We had a specific timing and FFL worked with us to make that happen. Everything was clearly explained and then the events happened exactly as planned. Great job installing a great product! Highly recommend!

Jordan, the manager was awesome. He was incredibly knowledgeable of his product and was able to come and measure the house the very next day. The plan was for the installation to take five days. The installers for the tile were prompt and efficient. The install only took three days. The carpet installation only took six hours. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home. They may be a bit pricy, but you definitely are paying for what you get: excellent service, diligent workers, and efficient installation.

Our salesman gave us a good price on hardwood flooring. He arrived on time the next day to measure the rooms. He said it was an easy job and would only take one day and wrote that on the paper work. Installation was scheduled for Tuesday. When no installer had called or arrived, I called our salesman. He didn't answer so I left a message. He did not call back. I called the installation phone number on the paper work. I was told our install was scheduled for Wednesday and I said I'm looking at the paper that says Tuesday. She offered to contact a supervisor. Shortly afterward the supervisor called to say he had found a crew and they were on the way. The installation crew arrived mid day. They moved two bedrooms of furniture into the den, spread a minor amount of float compound in each room and said they would return tomorrow. Wednesday mid morning the crew returned, looked at the float material and said it is too wet, we will have to wait until Friday. They also said they didn't have enough flooring and they had brought the wrong shoe moulding. They brought white and we purchased stained wood. So we now sit for three days with two bedrooms out of commission and furniture in the den. I called "Christian", the district manager, who offered only an apology. We took three days off for what we were told would be a one day job. When finally finished, the floor looks good. The process was horrible.

Sam Badawi, the salesman was professional and communicative , giving us multiple updates on the status of our carpet order and installation timing (it was back ordered, but only took a couple of weeks). Installers (Giovanni and partner who’s name I now forget) worked a full 12 hours without a break to complete the job in a single day (2,000 square feet plus stairs). Courteous and professional, cleaned everything up when done. Overall experience was very positive from sales through installation. Love the new carpet.

I researched several stores before deciding to purchase laminate wood floors for my entire house. I selected Floors For Living, on Peek Rd., in Katy, TX. I worked with Osama (Sam) Badawi for the purchase and the installation. We are thrilled with our beautiful new floors!! Sam helped my husband and I pick the floor we wanted, and told us about available discounts which greatly reduced the price. Sam came to our home to do all the measuring, and helped me with a few design issues. The FFL installation team was wonderful - they were very professional, prompt, and the work was completed ahead of schedule. I would definitely recommend Sam and Floors For Living again and again.

Chris at the Meyerland store was awesome! We were trying to match some existing carpet and he worked hard to make sure we got the right color and texture (turned out to be a PERFECT match in the house). He came out to measure the same day, and then scheduled the installer just a week later. The installer was on time, and did a wonderful, professional job, leaving the house as clean when he left as when he started. I will definitely use Floors for Living when we need flooring again!

I’m very pleased. The contractors arrived at the time we were told to expect them and were very polite. We had cleared as per instructions provided and larger items were all moved and put back in the right places. The men worked hard and have done an excellent job. This all followed from a visit to the showroom where Stacey was very helpful in helping us select materials and color then came out the same day to take exact measurements. This was a very good experience and I would certainly recommend Floors for Living.

Vendor came out, measured entire house, promised to email a proposal. I called two weeks later, he told me he was a little behind and would forward the proposal and that was the last I heard from the vendor. POOR

I am sorry to hear about your expereince. It doesn't make a lot of sense. They spent their personal money and time to come to your home and do not get paid unless you purchase. Please call me at (281) 731-6772 to let me know which store and associate let you down. As you can see from the reviews this is not our way. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Kurt Update - I have not heard from them. I don't believe that this is a customer of ours. Our closest store is 20 miles away.
