I'm the kind of person to do my due diligence before buying something or hiring someone. So when I ran across AIS, I was a little skeptical that the company had so many gushing reviews. Every once in a while, a company completely exceeds ones expectations; that was surely the case with Jaison (JT). I had originally intended to get three bids the day I met JT, but within minutes of meeting up, I knew there was no point and that I was going to have AIS do the work we needed done. Energy, energy, energy! JT is a high energy guy capable of doing 10 things at once and doing all 10 well. He's an impressive, friendly, knowledgeable guy. I'd say you'll have a hard time not feeling like you're talking about your remodel with a friend. Anyway, so the day we picked our slab, JT took us to 4 or 5 major yards in the NW Houston area. We were sure we wanted man-made Quartz for durability, but accidentally fell in love with Sea Pearl quartzite once we saw it. JT didn't mention it, or even steer us in that direction. My wife walked by and once she saw it, that was that. I had originally thought of hiring a GC to coordinate the work, but when the dude stopped by and said, "Pick this, pick this, do this, pick this and that, then call me." I was thinking, WHAT'S THE POINT? I wanted someone I could bounce design ideas off of and get feedback for what other people are doing, what are the trends, what are the fads, and what looks good together so to not mix styles. That's what I got with Jaison. When he came to the house for measurements, he asked if we were having the cabinets done. I told him we were but that we didn't know anyone to do it yet. "I got a guy" he said. When we demoed a small bar, we had surprise electrical above where the counter tops would be going, JT's response, "I got a guy for that." Plumbing? "I got a guy for that." Paint? "I got a guy for that." He WAS basically my general contractor, and all of the people he recommended were outstanding. To give you an idea how honest JT is, check this out. So remember I said we ended up falling for the Sea Pearl quartzite? Jaison would later remark that we probably picked the most expensive slab in the yard. While I'm sure that's a little of an exaggeration, it was twice as expensive as the Quartz products we were looking at. JT had two slabs put on hold, and it looked like my kitchen project had gotten a lot more expensive. So I get a call 2 days before the install date from JT. He explains that they were able to fabricate all the counters from one slab with the exception of a small ~2' x 2' piece in a back corner. He then told me that he looked around his scrap stone and found some Sea Pearl that was a little darker, but that he would GIVE it to us if we wanted to use it. I was floored! How could I say no?! The man basically took $2500 dollars that I was planning to give him, and put it back in my pocket. That's an honesty that is RARE these days my friends, and it goes to show you JT's character and integrity. At this point I should even have to mention it, but the job was done to complete satisfaction. The slab turned out beautifully. The fabrication and cuts look great. The back splash is perfect. The fireplace went from eyesore to focal point. I have shared JT's number with anyone I know who's having tile or counter top work done, and I'll continue to do so. We're planning on refreshing our 2 bathrooms next year and I already know exactly who I'm going to call, JT with AIS Stone & Marble. Period. (The approximate cost of service is for the counters, back splash, sink install & plumbing & fireplace stone work.)
Description of Work: Complete kitchen refresh. New cabinet doors & hardware, pullouts, soft close hinges and slides, back splash, counter tops, modify island, demo bar, relocate electrical, install sink, faucet, and plumbing, paint cabinets, paint mantle, and new mantle stone.

JT and his team were amazing! We have an old cat that had kidney problems and had completely ruined our carpet and the sub-floor beneath. We knew we wanted to replace with porcelain tile, but JT made the whole process pain-free. He took us around to dealers, ordered the tiles, and in spite of other work on his plate, he was able to get the installation completed for us before our guests arrived for Thanksgiving. His team treated the underlying floor (twice!), built us a new sub-floor and installed the tile and new baseboards, as well. JT kept to his promised schedule, his team was super professional, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. Will absolutely go back to JT for future projects!

JT was quick to come to the house to give us one of three bids we solicited. His proposal included the full scope of the job including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and tile / backsplash work. We selected AIS as there bid was the lowest and they were able to manage the entire project. JT spent half of day with us visiting granite warehouses to select the granite. He tracked down backsplash to match the existing backsplash. Renee did a great job with the granite layout and installation and finished the job on schedule. They were quick to come back out to repair a minor plumbing leak. We will hire AIS for countertops in another remodel we have planned

We previously used AIS for remodel work in our kitchen. When it came time to replace the floors in our upstairs bathrooms, there was no question that we'd use AIS. Once again, they did a fantastic job. JT and his team are true professionals. JT is very transparent - he explained everything that was included (and not included) for the project. The work was done quickly and on time. The floors look great and they were very thorough cleaning up afterward. I've referred AIS to friends before and will continue to do so.
Description of Work: This is the second time we've used AIS. They replaced the linoleum floors in our upstairs bathrooms with tile.

I must say, Its great! JT and his crew did a fantastic job. I am so glad I chose AIS Stone. I know nothing about granite and JT walked me through every step making it so easy for me. His crew was very friendly and professional new exactly what to do. They completed the job quickly and cleaned up. There were some very difficult areas and they worked very hard to do it right. The best thing is I have beautiful granite counter tops with no seams and I have a large kitchen with an island. I could not be happier. Great job and great people.
Description of Work: Replaced old counter tops and sink in kitchen. I had the kitchen done before Thanksgiving but decided to wait after the holidays to give my review. I wanted to know how I would like the granite and how it would hold up after heavy holiday cooking and lots of people.

We had gotten 3 other quotes- Lowe's, IGM (next door to my neighborhood), Five Star Floors in Pearland and then AIS. His pricing was quite good- he basically offered us whatever price he could get the quartz for- which was quite a bit less than 2 other quotes for the exact same slab. His customer service oriented manner has surpassed my expectations. He came and measured first, gave a labor quote within a few minutes, then we set up a day to go to several different granite warehouses in Houston. We spent about 3 hrs going to different ones. We told him what quartz we liked and he gave us the pricing for each. Seeing the slabs in person was night and day from the small samples we'd seen at the showrooms. Last Tuesday Jaison and Rene (his fabricator) came out to do final measurements and layout (raised bar converted to a flat counter top. Wednesday the quartz was fabricated at their shop/warehouse (I assume), Thursday they did the install, and Friday his backsplash guy came and started/finished our backsplash. All in all they did a great job and were all great to work with. I'll definitely use them again in the future- everything went extremely smooth! The cost listed is what I paid for labor alone- your cost will vary depending on counter top and backsplash you choose. I went with Vicostone Quartz- and since they have jumbo sized slabs (65"x130") I was able to use a single slab on the peninsula and a regular slab on cooking wall- this saved a good amount of $.

Exceptionally well. The teams worked nonstop for 3 days. Kept the area clean. The house now looks like it's appraisal value has doubled. Significantly, Jaison has impeccable taste. He helped us choose the granite from the myriad of choices. The granite color and texture in both the kitchen and all bathrooms fits perfectly with the surroundings.

We contacted AIS for a bid to replace the counter tops and back splash in our kitchen. JT met us for the initial consultation and walked us through the entire process. He made a point to explain what work would be included in the bid and what would not be included. This attention to detail stood out to us from the very beginning. We were so impressed that we decided to go with AIS without getting any other bids. JT personally went with us to view several different stone options. He understood the look we wanted and helped us find the perfect stone that also matched our budget. His crew did great work and were very professional. JT doesn't subcontract any of the work so the quality was top notch. He went above and beyond to make sure the project stayed on course. In the end, we got exactly what we wanted and could not be happier. We highly recommend AIS and are already having them look at other projects in our house. Thanks JT!

The job went well. The granite install was one day and the plumber hooking it all back up the next. We also had another small job done by the tile guys on the 2nd day. They all showed up on time, very polite and professional, did the work and cleaned up when completed. The water filter system didn't match up with the new faucet I purchased, however, the plumber was able to get the part needed to connect so we could keep it. Very glad as it matched the adjacent faucet! JT kept me informed from the time he provided the estimate and we contracted the work until all work was complete and he inspected. Definitely enjoyed working with JT. He doesn't push any service on you that you might not need or want, in fact, he commented our original granite looked fine and offered to repair the seam issue (previous install didn't seal the two pieces correctly so one had dropped enough to cause me grief) versus replacing the granite. In the end, I had made up my mind I wanted a lighter color so we did the full round of counter tops. We would definitely use again.

The service was great. We had a 2 slab job in order to cover the square footage of our kitchen. I initially got a quote from JT with a 2cm granite we had seen at a stoneyard around town, and due to the size of the slab the quote was high. JT met us at his preferred stoneyard, and helped us to pick out a slab. We ended up getting a higher level slab in 3cm for less than the original quote, in part because the slabs we got fit the dimensions better with less waste. We were pretty concerned about this job, since our last contractor was a horrible mess that took 10x as long as it should have. JT played it cool, and really helped allay our concerns. We probably called him way too much with questions, but he was always helpful. The particular bundle of granite we chose from wasn't finished as sister slabs, but rather the same side on each cut was polished. This meant they were slightly different instead of being mirror images. We ended up doing the island and sink area out of one slab, and cooktop side out of the other. JT and Renee, his fabricator, did a great job of laying out the cuts so that the one seam on the cooktop we have was invisible, even though it was taken out of a the same exotic slab. The other cuts that Renee did were great -- he was able to wrap our rounded drywall corners on the bar and on the countertop. Demo itself was done quickly by Renee and a helper. Before demo they laid out paper on the floors in order to not damage them going in and out of the house. The following day the plumber came and setup the sink, disposal, and gas cooktop. Afterwards, JT came by to seal the granite. He also went over care and cleaning. I've included photos of the finished kitchen as well as the cooktop seam. It's almost impossible to tell that it's from two pieces on the same slab. Super happy with the work done.

You can tell that it's two different colors from the two pieces butted together close up, but at any reasonable distance the seam looks invisible and the color gradient looks just like exotic stone. Super happy with it. I don't have photos of the corner wrapped cuts, but JT would be happy to provide and I believe they're also on his website with other project photos.

JT came out beginning of June and gave us an estimate. We then met him at the granite yard where he helped us pick our countertop. He was very helpful in providing advice and suggestions. Two weeks later he and his crew came out to do the install. It took about 3 days total. The workmanship was exquisite. The result is a beautiful upgrade to our kitchen. We are very pleased.

We wanted to replace the granite countertop on our small island to a larger slab that would allow bar stools to be used for dining. We called around for several estimates; most were over-priced and one company even told us they couldn't help us when they inquired us of our budget. Fortunately, we came across JT, who was more than willing to work with us. He not only gave us a reasonable quote but also connected us with a great carpenter who built the framework to support the new slab of granite. The whole process was incredible, from start to finish. Once the frame was done, JT came out to create a template and discuss our options. He scheduled a day for us to meet him at the warehouse to pick out the slab, but his wife was rescheduled to be in the hospital that same day for labor delivery. Regardless, he still made sure we were taken care of despite all that he had going on. He called to confirm that found what we were looking for or if we wanted to meet him out there again. We found what we needed so he went to work and delivered our new island well ahead of time. Everything came out beautifully. His team installed the new piece in no time and were professional throughout. One of the best things about JT is his friendly customer service; he was easily attainable and always got back to us in a timely manner. We've had friends over since and EVERYONE has raved over our how beautiful our new island is and how it was put together so seamlessly. We have been referring JT and would definitely go back for any of our future granite needs.

We chose AIS because of the Angies list reviews about JT and his crews. Let me say, they are right on the money. JT is first class and was at the jobsite when his crews were working to check on them and followed up at all hours to work around our busy schedule. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. HIS recommendations and taste in design are excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend AIS to anyone.

J.T. was very knowledgeable and assisted us in making the best selection possible for our kitchen. He escorted us at the stone yard, having slabs pulled out for our examination. We opted for a tile back splash with a combination of stainless copper clad and travertine. J.T. met us at the house and went over the design we had in mind, providing feedback as needed. All in all, J.T. and his crew were easy to work with and he was very flexible working around my hectic schedule. He and his crew did a top notch job and for a reasonable price!
Description of Work: Removed old tile kitchen counter-tops and replaced with new Quartzite, including sink disposer and all hookups.

JT was really easy to work with. He spend a lot of time explaining my options for countertops, explained the pro's and con's of different surfaces and styles. My experience in the past with other remodlers, was that they were usually hurry to get in and out not really caring if you're happy of not. As I am challenged in matching things, JT patiently suggested granite tops that would match the color scheme in my house to make sure it looked good. His crew showed up on time and best of all vacuumed everything up when they were done. Finally, as for price, it was less than I thought it would be...really. I had another guy come in and give me an estimate and it was higher than JT's. I realize my job was not as big as most of his jobs, but he did not treat it as such. I'd recommend JT as he socialble, knowledgeable and understands what customers want. garrett
