I hired Sharyland Handman after hearing about them from my Next Door Group. I've had several bad experiences with contractors in the past and was very apprehensive from the beginning. James Harris, who is the owner, was able to answer all my questions and calm my fears about working with him. Granted, even despite this, I had low expectations for this project. I needed to install a double door to my office along with the paint and trim work required for it. I spoke with several contractors prior to meeting with Mr. Harris, and most of them either never showed up, couldn’t (or wouldn’t) do the job, or were not bilingual. Mr. Harris not only showed up to estimate the project but quoted me a price that was aligned with my project’s budget. More importantly, he agreed to work around my schedule, and I was able to communicate with him. I told Mr. Harris that I don’t want to have contractors in my house beyond a certain time due to my children’s school schedule, and he was willing to respect that. Mr. Harris recommended that I purchase my door from a local building supply store, and this recommendation not only saved me money but time. The local building supply store was not only able to manufacture the door but deliver it in under a week! This is compared to the local big box store wanting nearly 3 months to deliver an almost identical door! When the construction began, Mr. Harris and his crew arrived when they said they would with a huge mobile woodshop in their trailer. They unpacked their tools and got to work. His crew was respectful, careful, and frequently cleaned their job site. Throughout the day while they were working, I heard a shop vacuum almost as much as I heard saws and drills. This detail was very impressive to me, as it is extremely rare to find a contractor that keeps their job site clean. When the project was completed, the new door was blended in very well with the original framing and it looks like it was always there. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work that was performed and the quality of work that was done. I have several other small-to-large-sized renovation projects that I want to do around my house and would hire Sharyland Handman again to work on them.

I hired Sharyland Handyman to work on my new open patio addition. I based it on reviews, design, customer interaction and of course cost. I didn't want something cheap or overly costly, but well built and someone I could depend on to build it right. The bottom line is James Harris and his group were a good fit and they did an excellent job on my newly built patio. In the future, if I need to get a cost estimate for any home remodeling, I know Sharyland Handyman is one I can trust.

He was able to install ceiling fans on extremely high ceilings (one was maybe 15' high). Work was efficiently done and I will be asking him to replace one more in the patio. The cost for service is not cheap; however, after trying to find less expensive handyman services that are also reliable...I have decided that he is well worth the cost. I definitely can't climb up tall ladders and perform these tasks myself! He did provide me with a time frame for arrival and we did have to change that due to running later than expected on his a.m. service call. He also provided an assistant who helped the tasks progress faster.

Excellent job as usual. James and his crew are outstanding! They excell at all jobs they have done for me. The paint and new carpet are perfect. Sharyland Handyman has done many projects for me and they were all superior work. Highly recommend and will definitely use again.

James and his team met all my expectations for a number of repairs that were needed in my 36 year old condo. These repairs included repairing a wall that had been opened to fix water lines in a neighboring unit, replacing carpet pad, matching and replacing baseboard that was taken during remediation, painting, and resetting the carpet. I also hired the Sharyland Handyman to replace the roof access door in the attic. I am pleased that the solution has already proven effective at keeping out the rain during the thunderstorms this week. Additionally, a new dryer exhaust duct was created to replace the flawed installation by the previous owner, and new paint and linoleum make the laundry nook neat and presentable. They finished by touching up paint throughout my home and thoroughly cleaning the carpets. These repairs were made over 2 1/2 days and were within my budget. James and his team were respectful and kept me apprised of progress. I sincerely recommend the Sharyland Handyman for household repair challenges without reservation.

The team was cohesive and worked efficiently with each other. Work was done in a timely manner and constant communication with me. A really good job from adding concrete on to the existing porch to the last piece of screen onto the finished screen room.
