Barry and Johnny replaced our deck with new Timber Tech. They were very professional, showed up on time, worked well together, and did everything they promised, all in a timely manner. Also, at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Both Mr. Fincher and his helper, Johnny were business-like in they worked in harmony and I often heard Mr. Fincher compliment Johnny on what he had done. They worked quietly and willingly pointed out other problems without making me feel that they were just trying to create another job to charge me for. He pointed out things and suggested what I could do to alleviate the problem.

Beware!!! If I could give this person and his Company a 0.0 rating, I would. Fincher Handyman Service falls short on knowledge of carpentry. Barry Fincher told me he was a Christian and that he worked to give money to the poor. Red lights should have flashed as a warning, but instead, I hired him. He was to take off the rotted wood from my house and replace it with new pieces of wood, which I paid him to do. What pieces of wood that he did put up, the joints did not meet together and he did not even caulk or seal the gaps between the joints. My painter had to re-do everything he did by sanding, caulking, and sealing. Fincher told my painter he was actually a roofer and not a carpenter. Fincher left holes/gaps bigger than a fist and did not bother to fix them in which I have the pictures of his so called professional work. He took the lumber that I paid for to his house and did not return the lumber to me after I asked him to bring it back. I called him and asked him to fix his mistakes, and he did not want to come back. My daughter called him, and he told her he did nothing wrong and we could take him to small claims court. He said he has been in small claims court before and has won every case - then he hung up on her. Something needs to be done, so that he does not do this to someone else. I paid him $3,000 in which my painter had to re-do everything and I am going to have to pay again for those repairs that I had already paid Fincher for and are being redone by my painter before he could paint. Fincher also put up my soffit that was falling with staples instead of using proper nails which did not even go through the wood to hold it up. My painter had to take out over 152 staples from the soffit and replace it with proper nails. They need to ban him from advertising! Very good work ethics. Arrived at job in a timely manner. Did a very good job on the wood damage I had on the over hang and valleys of house. Bathroom ceiling needed replacing and the job was done to my satisfaction. I would definently use them again if I have anything else needing to be done. Thanks for a pleasant experience.

he came out in 25 degree weather to fix my porch

To begin with, he built these porches without squaring anything. The posts were not set plumb or in line. This caused the headers and ledgers to be installed crooked looking like a snake. He installed the deck boards crooked which caused him to put a piece of the board on the end from 3/4 to 0 in 4 which immediately split. He then cut all the deck boards to match the snake-like ledger. The headers are screwed to the outside of the non-plumb posts so that all the weight of the roof is supported by the screws instead of notching the post to support the header. The end of the header is lower than the other making the gutters he installed flow the wrong way. One set of stairs was installed off level. at least 1/3 of the deck screws missed the joists. These are just some of the bad workmanship that we found. when he came out to finish the job, we told him of all the things that needed to be corrected. His excuse was that he was training a new helper and that the posts and boards were bowed, crooked and twisted. We explained that we did not appreciate using our porch for a training aid and that he was ultimately responsible for what his employees do without supervision, he got mad and was told to leave and do not return as I would be very busy repairing what was done wrong. Do not hire this man. He wastes a lot of material and does not know how to properly construct any structure. You have been warned.

He arrived on time, discussed price. Did the work requested without delay. Cleaned up area of repair.

I will hire him again and would recommend him to anyone. He is very reasonable with pricing. Showed up when he said he would and did excellant work.

He is fast and accurate and pays close attention to detail. He does quality work. I will be using his services in the future. Still more to do. He was able to work with me to give more than was expected, but that was needed.

Mr. Fincher presented himself as a fair-priced handyman. He stated that he was not in the business to make a lot of money, he wanted to help people. He was on a mission for the Lord. His bid for completing household repairs and putting the second coat of paint on my porch was very reasonable. When I did not have the right color of paint to finish the porch, he told me he would come back and finish when I had the paint. I also noticed at this time that he stained the steps of my porch, but did not stain the underside of the steps which was very noticeable when walking up the steps. At that time, I had paid him in full for his work. When he came to finish the paint job, I had two other jobs for him. One involved installing a gate on my chicken pen area. The other was to attach the loose borders of paneling under my porch and make an entry door for easy access for me to store items under the porch. After finishing the paint job, Mr. Fincher charged me for painting the porch (which I already paid for), installing the gate, and making an entry door for under the porch. He did not use the painted plywood that was in place for the porch door. He said it was rotted. He used an old piece of mismatched wood that did not fit and did not match with the rest of the porch siding. It made the front of my porch look worse than before. When I complained, Mr. Fincher stated that he would come back and fix the door by putting an access door on the side. I was working the morning he came to make repairs. By the time I was able to examine his work, he was gone. He left me with an access door the size of a doggy door. In fact, I do not even think my large dog could get in through that door. I would have to crawl laying flat on the ground to get through that door (I have pictures of the door). There are ladders and other items stored under the porch. The only way I can get them out is to have someone tear down the plywood panels. I sent Mr. Fincher a text message and he did not respond. I began to think he may have done this terrible job on purpose because I did not hire him to do a porch job that I was planning on doing. I had intended on hiring him, but not until after I finished some other work. I then sent Mr. Fincher another text message to let him know that I did not appreciate what he had done. He then replied to tell me that what he did was exactly what I had discussed with him. He also said that *we were done*. He said that God had revealed to him things about me that he did not like and that he could see why I had problems with my ex-husband (he knew my husband and I were separated). All I wanted was for Mr. Fincher to do what I hired him to do and when he did not, to correct the problem. I think he did this to me because he thought I was not going to hire him to build my porch. Of course, now, I definitely will not be hiring him. Now, because of Mr. Fincher and his vindictive actions, I must seek someone else to help me complete the project I paid Mr. Fincher to do.

Good man. Does what he says, and he works hard at his craft. I would hire him again

They were supposed to come back and finish the job but did not. I even reached back out to them and they were going to check on it the next day. Never heard back. I can t recommend this business regardless of the quality of the work.

He was an hour late. I had to call and make sure he was still coming. Installing new, very easy, light fixtures, he hung them crooked. When I asked him to straight it, he stepped up with his dirty wet work boot on my nice dinning room chair. I still had to fix it myself. He stole the extra parts from the box, even after I told him no. He did not finish a brick replacement by the driveway, 1 brick!. I wanted him to paint a back board on the house. He said he would go around the house and calk the boards. The paint I had did not match exact and one board on the back of the house would not have mattered, but he spot painted all around my house and it looks like crap. I have to have that fixed. He way over charged me comparing his prices to a licensed electrician. He is not. He was there 3 hours for 500.00. for nailing and calking basically. I asked him how he came up with his prices he said God tells me what to charge. He left trash. He was supposed to go up on the roof and nail down 1 nail where a shingle was sticking up. It was still sticking up. I called him right back. He hung up on me twice. Third time he answered and said he did nail it down but it was going to need to get hot for it to lay down. He replaced a couple of boards in the front of my house with cheap board that have noticed holes in them. I have to walk by every day and look at that cheap crap. Summery: From my experience, my opinion is, he does cheap, crappy work, does not finish, over charged, steals, disrespected me and my furniture, rude, late and in a big hurry to get your check and leave type handyman

Very punctual, very personable service. The doors we had delivered from another company were damaged and Fincher's did everything above and beyond to make these doors fit perfectly and in working order. Very respectful and woud definetly hire this company for many more projects ahead. Highly recommend these boys!
