Initially, there were a couple of misunderstandings about the job to be done. However, we worked through those and I'm very pleased with the outcome. First problem: the electrician had not been told there was no wiring in the ceiling, so he did not have all the supplies on hand. He said he would have to get the supplies and the job would take longer than planned. After making a call to his supervisor, he verified that the information had been conveyed to the company, but was not passed along to him. He then assured me the job would be completed as originally requested. Second problem: I had purchased a triple wall switch that did not require an additional hole to be cut in the wall. He cut a new hole before realizing it. He offered to put a regular wall outlet in the new hole, but I didn't want a wall outlet four feet off the floor next to the light switch. I opted instead to have the ceiling fan switch installed in the new location instead of using the triple switch in the original location. The look is not as clean as I would have liked, but I can live with it. Next time, I'll be sure to tell them about any special supplies before they start the job. I assumed he would check out the materials I had provided, but he assumed I had purchased a standard double switch instead of a triple. We both learned it's better to check than to assume. Bottom line: the new ceiling fan looks and works great. The electricians were extremely courteous and professional, even when I became a bit annoyed. They were also able to do this job without cutting off all the power, so I was not inconvenienced at all. The total cost was $99 for the Angie's List Big Deal purchase of two hours of electrical service, plus $50 for the additional supplies they had to buy. Because of the misunderstandings, it took about four man hours, instead of two, but they didn't charge me for the additional time. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend them to others.

That worked out great! An A plus throughout for them. I had another guy out and he couldn't fix it and they fixed it in about 15 min. My interaction with them was excellent. I don't think I spent more than the big deal amount on their service. They came out probably within just a few days after I purchased the deal.

The electrician arrived on time. He was courteous and professional. He checked a ceiling fan in our daughter's room that was not working. We thought we were going to need to have a new fan and a new wall control installed. It turned out that the switch was just not completely in the on position. It slides left and right to turn on and off and it looked like it was on, but it wasn't . We were very grateful for the electrician's integrity in showing us that there really wasn't a problem with the fan after all. He could have easily charged us to replace the fan and wall remote. The electrician then replaced two other ceiling fans, one of which was hanging from a 12 ft ceiling. He did a great job and had both fans hung in less than two hours! He did accidentally break a plastic turn knob when we asked him if he could move the location of the knob a few feet. (It was between the posters above the headboard of our bed and we wanted to hang some pictures there instead.) He did go to Home Depot on his own time and buy another turn knob and replace the broken one. Unfortunately, he replaced it with the wrong color.) We had to go to Home Depot to replace it with one that was the correct color. That was an inconvenience, but not a big deal. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the service provided and would use Speedy Electric again and recommend them to others!

The deal that I purchased was for one technician for 2 hours but instead two guys showed up but for only one hour instead. It seem logical except the total job took a little over an hour to complete and that meant that I would need to pay an additional fee for them to complete the work. I ended up paying $75 extra. I am not sure if one guy could have done it the job for 2 hours which is what I paid for. | |So perhaps it wasn't such a deal but I am happy with the work that was done even though it cost me $174 instead of $99. Not sure how much it should have cost me.

I’ve used them before and I like them a lot. I purchased another Big Deal from them and they will be coming on Friday for that. The guy was helpful and he explained things to me. If I request something, he’d show and tell me about a better way to do something. I appreciated the insight they gave me and the helpfulness.

I bought a big deal. They contacted me right away to set up the visit. They were here on time and quickly did the work.

We purchased a Big Deal through Angie's List and it was for 2 hours of labor - it didn't mention it was 2 man hours, so 2 men = 1 hour. Just something to keep in mind. We went over on time but were happy to pay for the additional time it took to complete the job, as the guys who arrived were courteous, skilled and upfront and honest about the cost and time it would take. We were impressed with how they didn't bat an eye at having to tackle our ridiculously high ceilings. All work was performed exactly as we wanted. We definitely will call them again for some additional electrical projects we have (this time, on ground level!) I would definitely recommend them to neighbors, friends and family.

I purchased a service check for two furnaces. Mark and his assistant inspected and cleaned both units. Mark showed me the part that went out and how the part was suppose to work. Also educated me on how often the filters need changing, which is more often than what I thought. They spent over an hour so they did not rush through.

After a 30 minute they're on their way call from the office, Ben and Austin arrived and got immediately to work. Austin took care of the fluorescent light replacement and Ben worked on the ceiling fan. Both were courteous and polite. Ben is a joker with a great sense of humor. I had hoped to get both projects done, but really only planned on the fluorescent fixture. It was in a very high location in the laundry room and I thought it would take both of them. I was surprised and impressed after Austin started working on that that Ben then asked what else did I needed done. So I dug out the ceiling fan for installation. Both jobs completed in the 1 hour time frame so I did not have any additional labor cost. They cleaned up after themselves. And I give them a 5A+. Yes I would use this company again in the future. And hope Speedy keeps these guys, Ben and Austin, around for a long time. Great work ethic!

Went great. Both individuals were knowledgeable and they started to work as soon as they hit the door. This was a deal for 2 hours of an electrician, I got 1 hour with two electricians. They were in and out in less that an hour. On the day of the service I got a call from their office telling me when they would arrive (traffic dependant) and they were here within 2 minutes of the time she said. I love that.

They were wonderful and explained everything to me. I would use them again.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was good. They were good, the service that they provided wasn't what I expected. They sounded like they were going to replace the breaker box, but they only replaced some breakers in it.

Speedy Electric was on time and did everything well and fast. Really enjoyed working with them and they are my electric company now in Dallas. Very Professional

We had purchased a big deal for the service. What I thought was a simple task turned out not to be a simple task. To that I would like to say that more questions need to be asked by the provider, because even thought the guys were nice, and they checked out a few things, I thought it was a waste of money. It wasn't the fault of the electrician who came out. I needed a new outlet put in, and it required a new electrical line run, and they could have done that, but it would have cost me more.

I called and set up an appointment 2 weeks in advance because I had to take the day off. Set up the appointment for 8am to 1pm. They showed up at 3:30 after I called twice.

Fine. They were professional and on time.

They were just average. They did have to come back to fix an issue.

He installed the outlet in a couple of hours.

UPDATE: Speedy Electric 1. After the A/C break down, we have only had our A/C worked on by one company so it was yours. And you are 100% mistaken about having my home cooling within 48hrs. It was 4 days without A/C. The day of the initial apt, when no one showed up, I called and Speedy had no record of my initial call or appointment, so it's not surprising that your records would indicate you finished the work within 48hrs. 2. We paid the deductible which I believe was around 69.00, at least a portion of that money would have been passed through to you. So you were paid for work. 3.Your response did not address the issue of your tech leaving a job unfinished job, and his leaving his trash, which outside of the initial botched appointment, I would think this would have been the major issue worth addressing in your response. ORIGINAL POST: A/C went out and had them out to inspect. First go around, they didn't show up for the appointment at all and said they had no record of me calling in for the appointment, which meant we went 4 days with no AC in the dead of summer. When they finally came, they determined the AC unit was fine and only need new electric box outside. Tech went to home depot to grab one, came back and didn't have a masonry bit to install box (was outside watching him and an understudy for most of the work). Rather than get a masonry bit, he went through 3 bits trying to drill into the house, it didn't work. So tech left the job stating he had installed it, come to find out having gone out there to look at the finished product, tech left the box hanging with only one screw holding it in rather than two, and also left his trash next to my house. Would not recommend.

All went well. The service was completed in less than 2 hours, but it was well worth the money.
