Mike and Johnny were my electricians. These guys set right to work and within forty-five minutes had the problem solved. I enjoyed them and could tell by listening to them that they knew what they were doing. Great team and great service. I had bought a special online and that provided me with a real deal.

2 workers - one young apprentice, one licensed. One hour on "special" rate of $99. Next 1 1/2 hours at $150/hr or $225 This is the first time I have used an electrician that did no clean up (lots of plaster and debris on both bathroom floors). Also asked to borrow my house ladder. They went "by the watch" and were about to go into another $75 charge when it was decided that I could finish the ceiling fan light myself - screw in 2 more lightbulbs , then attach the covers/shades. Problem was, the fixture was so hastily installed (so they could get on to the next billing) that it dislodged and now is dangling by some wires until I can get someone else to fix it. Also - the outside /inside back door light did not come on either place. (I had planned to replace it but the electrician took the second outside arm off). We failed to see the problem in the fuse box. Speedy did come back out at no charge, but I had not started in on the bedroom fan fixture yet, so that was not on the list.
Description of Work: replaced 3 under-counter kitchen fluorescent light fixtures installed 2 bathroom vent/light fixtures partially replaced light fixture on bedroom ceiling fan removed "arm" on outside flood fixture

It is important for us to hear the negative feedback as well as the positive in order for us to improve our services. At Speedy Electric & A/C, your 100% satisfaction is our #1 priority, and it appears we have fallen short. First of all, please accept our sincere apology for the lack of clean up after your exhaust fan installation. This has been an issue discussed at length with our electricians, and should have been taken care of. From the details you have provided, it appears that in all reality, the men were concerned with time, and did not want to put the job into extra billable hours in order to complete the cleanup. Our electricians are not paid by the job, they are paid hourly. They were less concerned with moving on to the next service call than they were concerned with costing you more hours of labor. The option to stay and finish cleanup should have been offered to you. Also, the electricians never should have asked to borrow your ladder. I am not sure of the circumstances, but he should have come prepared for the job, and I can assure you that this issue has been addressed, and will not be occurring in the future. We did make a second trip to your residence to rectify the tripped breaker in the panel for the lighting circuit, and to confirm that the circuit was operating properly. At this time, the electricians sent on the job would have been happy to tighten the fixture in the bathroom. This would have been a very brief adjustment, and would not require any more cost to you, the homeowner. It is unfortunate that we were not made aware of the issue prior to or during this visit so that we could complete the job to your satisfaction. Again, your happiness is our priority, because without customers like yourself, we would not be in business. I can't say enough great things about this company!! I got the 2 hours for $99 deal and they did an AMAZING job! The first scheduled appointment my phone didn't register the phone call/voicemail and I missed the appointment. it wasn't a problem for them at all-they came out the following day and were SO "speedy" and professional that my neighbor said he was going to hire them to do work for him!
Description of Work: They installed 2 lights in the bathroom, a doorbell, 2 closet lights, and fixed a ceiling fan. All in 2 hours!

Waited two weeks due to weather to get them out to do the work. When they showed up they informed me they could not replace the conduit for our pool. We purchased a Big Deal for two hours of electrical labor and they sent an electrician and a helper. Paid for man hours for the electrician and the helper. Ended up doing some electrical work for us. Both men were polite.

In speaking with the electrician, Austin who handled your service call, I wanted to clarify something. It is not that we couldn't replace the conduit to the pool, but rather that the job was too large for the time allotted. Austin's concern was the flagstone path and concrete that would need to be torn up in order to access the conduit. It could have been dug up and replaced, however, there would be more man-hours involved in that job, and potential damage to your permanent walkways. He stated that your other concern was that there was water in the line, and there was not electricity running to your pool system. He checked the voltage, and showed it to be getting plenty of electricity. Also, with any line running underground, there will be some amount of condensation that occurs, causing some water in the line. I hope that this clarifies some of the issues with your service call. We had a ceiling fan short out after a bad storm. We took the broken fan down thinking we would reinstall a new one ourselves. Five months later the new ceiling fan was still sitting on our bedroom floor. We found Speedy Electric on Angie's List. Scheduling an appointment was easy. I was a little concerned that I had been forgotten because it was nearing the end of the four hour window they gave me, but the technician did arrive. It had been a busier day than expected for him. Totally understandable. He was courteous and installed our fan quickly. I would definitely use them again.

They did not come to the first appointment because there was an error in the address but they send a different technician later on that same day, they worked on the items I requested in the time frame previously anticipated. We are happy with the results and happy to recommend their services.

Great value and prompt service. One ceiling fan was installed without connecting the fan/light operation to the existing light switch (so both light and fan have to be operated directly by the fan cords). But otherwise, a great deal.

I used this company to hang an outdoor ceiling fan and they did a great job. 2 techs one hung the fan the other ran the cable and tied it into the attic.They cleaned up after them selves and were very pleasant. This time the job was easier and they charged my wife an additional $62 and didn't clean up afterwards.
Description of Work: Ran an electric cable 3 feet down a wall and tied it into a box in the attic. 2 technicians, very easy to get to everything, the job should have taken 2 people 30 minutes. They charged my wife an additional $62 labor.

Sometimes when running wires in walls, especially on exterior walls like they were, there can be circumstances that make it more difficult to get the wires in the walls. The gentleman who arrived at the house were respectful and courteous. They needed to gain access to the main breaker box which made sense since they were working on two outlets, however the very next day one of our breakers blew. Interesting that it happened within 12 hours of them being at the house. Since our home is very old, it took us approximately 3 hours to find the correct replacement breaker (which isn't available at any local hardware stores) and replace the breaker.
Description of Work: They replaced an indoor receptacle from a 2 receptacle box to a 4 receptacle box. They also fixed the issues we had with an outdoor outlet that wasn't receiving any power.

Based on the scope of work, and the age of the home, there are several reasons why a breaker would have blown. With an old panel, and with adding an additional outlet, it is very possible that the extra load on the panel caused the breaker to fail. It is also possible that it was a coincidence, like a light bulb going out. There are a myriad of possibilities, and unfortunately, we were not given the opportunity to repair the breaker. If you would like, we can come out and give a free estimate for changing the panel out to to a UL listed panel, and bring the electrical service in your home up to code, thus preventing the likelihood of future failures. The jobs were done adequately. The helper was obviously very new at this trade and was not quite up to par. The jobs were done but not to the "top of the line" quality I had expected.

They confirmed the appointment this morning for 9-12. They never showed up. We've had the appointment scheduled for over a week. I called them at 12:45 and they said they were running late. Nobody even bothered to call me. Now we're going on 2pm and still nobody has arrived. I told them I had to leave for work at 2pm. I told her I had to work and nobody bothered to call therefore I'm cancelling the deal.

It was just okay. They were late and they did not do some of the things they said they were going to do. They did it that day but they called and then said it will be towards the end of the time frame. But after the time frame they called and said they were coming and it was about an hour and a half that they got there. I ended up having to wait for them the whole day. There were two guys and they kept selling me a bunch of stuff that I knew I did not need but I was pretty much expecting that for them to sell things. They will always sell pest killers inside the air conditioning unit which is just ridiculous. It stayed within the $39 deal and one free care for the air conditioner. But they both were kind. They were also supposed to pour bacterial stuff into the drain lines for the AC condenser and they did not do that. One guy just told me to pour some bleach on it. They checked everything else that they said they will do. They also tried to sell me a cap for the filter for $10. The cost was expensive for a house call. They did not really do anything besides checked what they were going to check and it was okay. I think the stuff that they should have poured was something to keep the molds out but they did not do that.

Thank you for taking the time to review our business. I apologize that you were not completely satisfied. I would like to take the opportunity to explain a few things. First of all, we had scheduling issues on the day of service. The technician on your call was our service manager. He is in charge of all 14-16 trucks that are dispatched every morning. Some days, he is called to assist other technicians in the field, and this makes his whole day delayed a bit. For this, I apologize. The 20 point inspection in question has several components that are perhaps misunderstood. Flushing and treating the condensate drain with anti-algae treatment consists of passing air though the line to make sure there is no restriction, and placing a small anti-algae tablet. This may not have been obvious to you. In his notes, he lists where he checked all components listed on the 20-point list. Our service manager, David is efficient, and takes great pride in what he does. I can assure you that all parts were complete. In his service notes, he listed where he suggested brass service caps (to avoid corrosion and subsequent leakage of refrigerant, and potential malfunction of your system), and two items that would bring your units compliant with Texas code. The sleeve for low-voltage is a precaution taken to avoid rodents or other animals from chewing through the low voltage line, and the float switch is installed in the pan in the interior unit to avoid overflow of excess condensation, and potential water damage within the home. The technicians are required to inform you of items that are not up to code. At no time are you required to purchase any additional items. They were merely suggestions to avoid future concerns with your system. We appreciate your input, and sincerely hope to have the opportunity to service your electrical and HVAC needs in the future. Once they got there, they were fantastic. However, that was the second day they were scheduled to come as they didn't not come the first time scheduled (12-5 window) and no one called to let us know. We called them at 4:00 and at 5:00 and were told that they would "be there in 30 minutes" each time. We had evening arrangements and couldn't wait for them to come late, so they rescheduled us as a first call on the following Monday. It was inconvenient and a bit frustrating, but overall they did a good job at handling the situation.

A team of two electricians answered the call. They were prompt and knowledgeable. They answered my code question and then set to work tightening all the connections in the electrical panel. The next day when one of the bathroom outlets did not work, they returned, reset the GFI and verified that everything was live. We have not had a problem since. I would definitely use Speedy again and have recommended them to friends.

When I placed the order I was told they would be at my home between 1 p.m. & 5 p.m. and that they would call me 30-45 minutes before arrival. On the day of the appointment I called them at 4:25 p.m. and was told the technician was about to leave North Dallas and that I was the next stop. I live in Grand Prairie. I called back at 5:25 p.m. and told them I would have to reschedule since the technician still hadn't arrived. On the day the technician came out he was supposed to have been here between 12 noon & 4 p.m. He arrived at 4:45 p.m. The technician was pleasant. He recommended a couple of items but there was no pressure to purchase a new unit or any additional service. Appreciated. The air did blow much colder when he left. I haven't had to use the A/C since then due to the cooler weather. It had been rainy and he took his shoes off to avoid tracking mud through the house. He didn't perform all items on the "Big Deal" 20-point Air Conditioning Tune-Up List. A specific item missed was "flushing and treating condensate drain with anti-algae product". The others are less conspicuous. Yes, I would use again. Next time I guess I would need to 1) call them more frequently to make sure I know when someone will show up at my home and 2) specifically mention the 20-point check list and make sure every item was addressed.
Description of Work: $39 "Big Deal" Spring Check + $180 for 3 lbs. of Freon ($60/lb. = Angie's List member price) I declined a suggested stop leak treatment.

In a service industry like ours, at times calls run longer than expected, and then cause the rest of the day to be delayed. Also, travel times to residences can be slowed due to traffic. Our office should have been more proactive in contacting you to keep you informed of the progress of the day. For neglecting to do so, I am sincerely apologetic. It is important for us to hear the negative comments as well as the positive so we can improve our service. Thank you. As far as the line flushing and algae treatment, I see on the technicians notes that he confirmed the line was clear. He does this with air, and places a small tablet in the pan for anti-algae treatment. Perhaps the tablet was not visible, because it was placed in the pan out of view. I will make sure and reiterate the importance of our technicians placing these tablets. Again, thank you for taking your time to give us constructive criticism so that we may adjust our procedures to provide better customer service.
