Speedy Electric personnel arrived within the time frame I was told, and having advised them of the problem, they quickly went to work testing each non-working outlet, and determining the cause of the problem to be a loose feeder line connecting the one working outlet in the room, to the other 4 non-working outlets. Upon correctly refastening that feeder line to its binding post, electricity then flowed to the other 4 outlets, thus solving the problem.
Description of Work: Personnel from Speedy Electric, quickly diagnosed and corrected a problem I was having with 4 non-working electrical outlets in my house. Turned out to be a loose connection in one of the outlet feeder lines to the other outlets.

Going forward, I will not be purchasing a deal like this from Angie's List again. I feel that the end state of this provider was only to sale services, by any means necessary. I was told by the technician that I had a costly problem, that he could fix right on the spot, if I paid out the cash... When I told him that was too pricey, since my home warranty would cover it, he became very anxious and began to move as quickly as possible to leave. I asked him to stay until I found out if my warranty would reimburse me if he fixed the issue (10 min tops). Instead, he said he had already made a phone call to his office and told me that he would not stay to fix the so-called problem, but would return tomorrow if the warranty company agreed. So he left, and I had the warranty department send out a new technician/company the next day. The new technician did not see a problem - at all, but wanted to replace the item since it was tampered with by the technician the day before. It's a bummer to have to write this because this is the first time I've ever had a bad experience on Angie's List. Oh well.. 1 out of 7 isn't bad?

The gentleman worked extremely hard and efficiently to get the work done quickly and save me money. He had a suggestion which actually involved less work and which accomplished the same goal, which also saved me money. This company was an excellent find and I couldn't recommend them more highly to anyone with electrical needs.

Speedy was referred by home warranty co. In mid-June Speedy came for repair, he installed freon but refused to check other parts of system to see if they were working properly. "If you have another problem, call and we'll come out again." Within a month, the air conditioning was again not working and a second visit was needed. I took off from work a second time to meet a different repairman. He said a new compressor was needed, but he did not have one with him. So, I had to take off from work a third time a few days later. Speedy called me at 1:00 p.m. with a notice to be home within 30 minutes; I got home before 1:30. The tech showed up at 3:30. When I asked about being so late, he explained, "I had to eat lunch." (Never mind that I left work a third time to deal with a/c and sat for 2 hours waiting after being given 30 minute notice to meet him). After an hour, he told me certain parts were locked and he did not have a key, so he'd have to come back the next day- I had missed work for nothing. We had to continue suffering through having bedrooms at 82-84F. The next day, Saturday, he returned; I remained at the house all afternoon. Late that afternoon he said he fixed the system, "installed a new compressor, checked the pressure, charged the system, system operating." I left and came back several hours later; it was 82-84F in the bedrooms. I called Speedy that night to leave a message that the repairs were not made or were not effective. No one called me back the next day; I called again; the dispatcher said she'd "put me on the schedule." I finally persuaded her to get a supervisor involved; he came the next day. I had to leave work for the fourth time to meet him; he discovered the prior tech had installed the wrong starter on the compressor; he admitted that the tech could not have checked the pressure and the system could not have been working, contrary to what the tech had represented to me and stated in writing on the repair receipt. The supervisor installed a new starter. Later that night, it was still 82F. To his credit, the supervisor returned that night to install a new motor. I sent an email to the owner of Speedy outlining these facts and asked her to contact me. Amazingly, she has failed.

We apologize that you have a negative experience with our company. There were several issues that we had to overcome, however, in the end we were able to overcome them to get your system running. First, the home warranty companies will not replace parts that are not failed, like we found on the first trip. Second, no company carries compressor on their truck, and this is a part that your home warranty supplies to us. Third, when the installer arrived on Friday he found faulty locking refrigerant caps that were preventing him from access to the refrigerant lines to make the repairs. These were cut off on Saturday morning by the owner to avoid further damage to the system & allow the installer to replace the compressor. The service manager did make (2) trips on the following Monday to replace a faulty capacitor & motor that would not have been detectable before the compressor was running. I know it was a inconvenience to you to have your kitchen/living room system down during the heat of the summer, but we are glad that in the end a positive resolution was achieved. Guys were nice, professional and worked fast. I had to pay extra after they ran over but figured that would happen. The one electrician sold me on a surge protector for my house for $315. So really I paid them about $615 total. They made a mistake in wiring up one of the switches and a new crew came out a few days later to fix it at no charge. Yes, I wish they had done it right the first time but knowing they come out to fix problems with no complaining or charge is great. Would use them again. In fact, I loved Caddell Electric but they were too far out. I guess that's why they call them Speedy. These guys were cheaper than Caddell and come with two guys for fast work. I would use them again!

Paid for 2 hours for one man service, but two people came. That only gave me 1 hour of service. They came at 3:15 and didn't start working until after 3:30. They were not able to install the outlet. They said because of the radiant barrier I had in the attic. They completed installing the light around 4:12 and said they already went passed an hour. I kinda think I overpaid just to install one light.
Description of Work: My plan was to install an outlet in my garage and a security light for the backyard.

Thank you for your review. There are many reasons why it is necessary to routinely send 2 electricians on a job. First and foremost is safety. When dealing with electrical work, occasionally, accidents can occur, and having another trained professional on the job is important. If there is a shock to the electrician, they need someone who understands how to remove them from the charge without injuring themselves. Safety for the homeowner and the electrician has to be our primary focus. The other reason is that the job before or after yours might have required both men for the job to be completed. When we send them out in the mornings, we have to take into account all of the calls that day. Occasionally, we need to be able to send one electrician on calls alone, so the coupon states that it is either/or. Either way, it is two man hours that we usually bill at a higher rate. Our standard rate is one man for $100/hr, or 2 for $150/hr. It is unfortunate that we were unable to complete the other installation you were requesting. When arriving on a job sight unseen, it is difficult to know just exactly how the call will go. Thank you for your input, though. My sister had a short in a ceiling fixture, didn't know what to do, so she called me for help. I immediately went to Angie's List and found one of their special deals which was for a Speedy Electric electrician for 2 hours for $99. After purchasing it, they were very quick to respond and set up an appointment. I met the electrician over at my sister's house and showed the gentleman the fixture. He said "no problem" and got a ladder and tools out of his truck. Things were going fine until he did something that caused a loud pop noise and set the smoke detector off. He continued to work on the trying to fix things only to end up at the end of the two hours with half the house without electricity. He did call the office and sent pictures via his phone, but my confidence in what was going on was REAL BAD. He ended up leaving telling me someone would be coming out the next day to help. I wasn't happy hearing all of this and of course was worried about the additional charges my sister would incur for added hours. I apologized to her and said I would pay the difference. The next day another electrician promptly came out and within an hour had fixed everything and was clearing out. I was waiting for the bill and asked him how much I owed and he said there would be NO CHARGE. He said the company stands behind their work and only wants satisfied customers. I can say I have bought deals on Angie's List before that I have wondered about because I always ended up spending additional money because the work is either more than the deal or they find something else wrong. Well, Speedy has restored my faith in thinking there still are good companies who do what they say and stand behind their work. I would definitely call them again!

They were great. I used an Angie's List coupon that was $99. For two hours. I've done this before and what they actually do is send two guys for one hour. I've had different service teams each time, but both have been outstanding. Today it was Mikey and Jonny. They were friendly, fast, efficient, and very professional. They even took the trash with them when they left. I would highly recommend them and will use them for any electrical work that we need in the future. Don't hesitate to work with them.

The service went well. They did a good job. I did it when they were already out. They were there and we were talking about various things that needed to be done and the cost. Then, he said if we sign up for this and then, they could give us a discount. So, I did it when he was in the house. I had other things that needed to be done so I ended up spending more than the $99 Big Deal. I think I paid a couple of hundred more. It was different things that they identified that needed to be done in addition to what they were working on. They were very professional. I would use them again in the future. In fact since I signed up for annual service inspection, they would be out quarterly.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for Speedy Electric & AC. They tried to resolve an issue with my air conditioner leaking into a drip pan. I think they replaced a condenser motor outside, but I did not know it had a problem. The primary reason for the call for them to come out was to fix the garbage disposal which he fixed pretty quickly.

Provider came with a partner. Provider successfully installed two ceiling light fixtures, one in kitchen and one in dining room. Partner was working on bathroom, over vanity fixture. Partner took out the fixture and then provider decided that they could not proceed further because the opening in the wallboard was the wrong size. Provider and partner were not able to reinstall old light fixture. Provider said that if I got in a handyman to replace wallboard then I could call company and for a fee they would come and put in the light fixture. I have not yet contacted a handyman and I still have a hole in my bathroom wall and no light fixture.
Description of Work: Provider was supposed to install two overhead light fixtures and one bathroom fixture. I contracted for the work under their $99 special for two hours labor.

Two men arrived on time and explained that since there were two of them, they would be able to work for an hour. They got right to work. I felt that they took the sensitivity of the time very seriously and I got every minute that we paid for. Once the job was done, they cleaned up the mess and left it as though work had never been done. I was extremely pleased with the work with TJ and Jerry. We plan to have more work done in the future and I will specifically request them.
Description of Work: We purchased a two hour package to have them hang a chandelier and move a light switch. Upon arrival, they explained that it wouldn't take the full two hours to do all of that so I had them change out some plugs too. They went 15 minutes over (with my permission) due to the additional request so I did pay a bit more out of pocket.

Well, they were polite, however I had issues with scheduling and communication. When they finally showed up, they seemed less then knowledgeable and missed steps of the service that I had to remind him about. I felt like they rushed the service since they did not show up until 6:30 pm and left at 7:05 pm. It was less then satisfactory experience, the service was less than thorough and I probably would not use them or their service again.

During these hot summer days, we run many air conditioning service calls daily. On the day of your service, our technicians ran into larger issues than expected on a call prior to yours. With this business, diagnosing a system can be a complicated situation. My notes show that we did contact you to make you aware that we were running a bit behind. Hunter, the technician that ran your tune-up is very experienced, and knowledgeable in this industry. He did have a helper, Angel with him as an assistant. Angel is new to the company, and shadowing service technicians so that he can learn. I would appreciate knowing what part of your service call you felt was missing. In looking at his notes, it appears that he covered all the bases provided in the details of the tune-up. Performing a tune-up should take approximately 20-30 minutes per unit, and he was at your residence just at an hour, so the timing looks sufficient for the job to be complete. They were great. They had to do more extensive work on the third one but they were great. They were very nice. There were no problems. The second time, they promised they will be there at a certain time and they didn't show up and we called and he was running late and failed to call and we had to reschedule it. The price was great. He was good.
Description of Work: They installed one fan and came back and installed a second fan and we had them come back and do a third one.

We manage a daily schedule with 80-120 service appointments, and in our business, each and every call is different. During the second day both service technicians (Kyle/CJ) replace at least 2 lbs of refrigerant for my system and replace a burn out capacitor. The technicians check the whole system to make sure it wasn't any leaks in the system. Also on the first day Kyle took pictures of my system and check the air filter and advise me I should replace it next month. Overall Kyle did a great job and I will be using Speedy Electric & A/C again.
Description of Work: Provided a 20 point spring tune up and replace a burn out capacitor. Tech Kyle said he needed to come back next with refrigerant because my system was a little low.

Everything went really well. I had to change the appointment and they were very accomodating. Although I paid for 2 hours of service it only took them 1.5hrs to complete the necessary job. Being as how I didn't have anything else for them to do, I told them they could go. The two guys were professional and did the job exactly how I wanted it to be done.
Description of Work: They removed an electrical outlet and installed an outdoor outlet in another location.
