Thirty minutes later, Josh, the AiRon repairman, arrived. He first looked at the thermostat and then went up into the attic. Within minutes the ac was back on!!! I went up in the attic and asked him what the problem was. He told me that the door to the unit had not been put on correctly nor was it resealed. He also explained that the door holds down the on button inside the unit. Because the door had not been put back on correctly, it was just a matter of time before the door vibrated away from the button. Josh checked the rest of the equipment upstairs and then checked the condenser. In his opinion, the condenser had not been cleaned and the inside box to check the Freon and capacitor was also dirty and held a spider web. Josh checked the Freon level and it was too high so he drained some of it. The capacitor was operating at a ?75? instead of the manufacturer?s recommended setting of ?80.? the AiRon repairman, looked at the thermostat and then went up into the attic.
After the AiRon repairman left, I called Speedy and informed them that another company had come out and fixed the problem. I requested a refund since it was obvious that no tune-up had been conducted and in fact, Speedy caused the problem which required me to pay a service call for another company to come out and fix the ac. The office manager, Crystal, said that they could not refund the money because they do not receive any funds. Crystal said that Angie?s List gets the full amount and the company receives nothing. I left a message for the owner to call me back. Several hours later Brian called me back and also refused to give me a refund. I would like for Speedy Electric & Air to refund the amount I paid for the tune-up and to reimburse me for the cost of the service call from the other ac company. Total: $99.
"I apologize that the technician was running late to the appointment, during our peak season this happens on occasion, however, the office should have tried harder to contact you. There are notes in our system that they tried to call but were not able to reach you. I did pull you invoice from the service to check on the work performed. We show the technician was there from 3:30pm - 4:35 pm and did the following work: "Found no mechanical issues with system, Filter clean,Coils are clean,Capacitors are good, Motors are good, Refrigerant levels are good, Drains are clear". I also show that we had you scheduled to return on 06/03/14 to re-check the system, but you canceled the service call. We would like the opportunity to re-check your system if you feel like our technician missed something. Thank You, Jennifer - Office/Service Manager"

They didn't have time to finish, so we will be having them out again to
complete the work. There was one switch that we need to find (I had
never heard of a 4-way switch) before they come back.

Kenneth was the tech that was installing a new breaker and doing the wiring for the sump pump and installing a new GFI plug for it also. He was wonderful technician and knows his profession extremely well, we asked a few questions and he was always ready to answer our novice questions, I say this because my knowledge of electrical know-how is about enough to get me fried to a crisp if I attempted any of that type of work. He was kind enough to not make me feel like a real doofuss.
Speedy electric did a great job and we thought their pricing was very fair. Their work was outstanding and we will put Speedy on the speed dial from now on. If you need a professional electrician I recommend Speedy Electric very highly.

It was my day off and the only one I had with many things on my to-do list. The appointment was made a week in advance and was set for the 9A-1P time frame. I had planned to be around the house in the morning so this worked well. After Noon I got a call to say the window had moved to 2 to 2:30. I then got a call that pushed the appointment from 3:30 to 4:00. My day off was ruined by waiting around. There was one thing I had to do away from the house and so I contacted the company to tell them I HAD to leave the house to do something and I might not be back when the technician arrived. I ran my errand and received no less than 6 phones calls and messages from three different women who were calling every minute or two on both phones telling me the technician was near or at my house. They never told the technician I had to leave the house and would be back shortly. Too many people calling too frequently and too little communication with all the phone calls.
Pros
When the technician finally showed up he was very pleasant and very professional and went about his business and did a thorough job. After his review he went over all the measurements and a ranges to let me know the health of the system.
