Guardsman-In Home Furniture Repair

"Technician" was supposed to repair a chair in my home. I confirmed with their contractor, "Elite" that service would be done in my home and also confirmed with Guardsman that service would be done in my home. I asked if they would protect the carpet during the repair (which was a mechanical part replacement) and was told that it would be "no problem.:" I scheduled one month in advance in order to get a Saturday appointment. I was told the "technician" would phone me two days in advance to give a time of arrival. I did not hear from tech, so the day before scheduled service, I called Guardsman to find out when tech would arrive. I was told there was a "note" on the order that my chair would not be repaired in my home, but would be picked up and taken to the shop, for an extra $100 charge, because I had asked about protecting my carpet! Nobody had bothered to tell me any of this until I phoned to ask about why I hadn't heard from the tech! Poor customer service, poor quality! Will NEVER do work with them again.
