Description of Work: A simple water leak under the kitchen sink. Very easily accessible. I can't do these anymore, so need help. One guy comes out, looks it over and says he has to call his boss. Then says he'll be back the next morning w/price, etc. Doesn't show up. Later that 2nd day, I call the boss/Mr Kirby. He says the other guy never called, but that the estimate would be $250 to $300. That sounds too high to me. So I ask him if he'll accept $200. He says OK. The next day, I find a coupon for $25 off from Encore Plumbing. Two days later, the first guy shows up, with a helper. (Obviously a one man job). They fix the leak. Leaving the valve lower than it had been making it more difficult to place a pan or drip catcher under it. He wants $200. I tell him I have a check for $175 plus the coupon. He balks, says he has to call the boss. He does, the boss tells me that's not right, that we had agreed on $200. But I told him and the repairman he could take the check and coupon and that's it. I have not heard anymore from them and won't call. Not a pleasant situation. To make matters worse, a week later, I called a different plumber for a leak at my water heater. This required moving the dryer out and crawling back into where he could reach the pipes. This repair cost $165. No coupons. But, my point is that it was cheaper than Encore and more work. Much more work.

Description of Work: Repair break in sewer line after foundation repair.

Description of Work: Encore took care of two problems for us, the second of which covered (for the most part) by our homeowner's insurance. The first was a broken pipe beneath our kitchen floor slab, which rendered our kitchen virtually unusable. Making this repair required digging a trench four feet in length and four feet in depth to gain access to the pipe in order to patch it. Second, the drain in our bath tub had corroded through and was leaking badly (through a wall). Fortunately, Encore was able to successfully access this drain through an exterior wall cut-out, and so did not have to pull the tub to address it.
