Thad's Appliance Repair

I made the appt. for 2:00 - 4:00 and they had a cancellation and called to request if they could come early. They were here less than an hour, repaired the refrigerator and were very pleasant and professional. I will recommend them and use them again.

As stated in previous reviews, I was able to quickly get an appointment scheduled and given the time window of 2:00-4:00 the next day. Right at 2:00 I got a call to see if it was okay for them to come on over. Thad and his son were just the most delightful people. They came in and within a couple of minutes diagnosed the problem and delivered the bad news. It wasn't repairable. They went further and explained why it wasn't repairable which made so much more sense. They charged me a very reasonable service call fee and left me their card. I will call them again. What a great company!

Excellent Service, good price, friendly faces, Cleaned up before and after. Highly Recommended. Other shops may have condemned the unit but Thad said it was just a fan and not the compressor (which I suspected).

The machine would stop and display a fault code. There were clothing items in the hose system. Technician successfully removed items causing malfunction.

It was easy to get an appointment, and reschedule when I needed to. He was scheduled to come between 9 and 11, and Leisa called right at 9 to ask if he could come. Thad was very polite, friendly, and quick. He told me our ice maker was dead and we would need a new one, and showed me the mineral buildup that indicated it needed to be replaced. He gave me a quote for $295 and told me most people in town charge around $600. We told him to go ahead, and he replaced it right away because he already had an ice maker in his van. I was overall very pleased. However, when I looked up how much it should cost to have a new ice maker installed on http://www.homewyse.com/, the estimate was between $220 and $250. I don't know if Thad overcharged me or if that site is not accurate.

They arrived on time as scheduled and called ahead. They cleaned up the area after service. They determined the exact problem, and gave me a detailed estimate of repair costs, plus evaluation of whether to do the repair or not. The problem was a timer on an old unit. It was better for us to buy a new one, as the cost was over 50% of a new unit. They gave us the option to do repair or not, instead of just doing it and charging us, which we really appreciated. Very professional.

Very quick scheduling - just a couple of days from when we called. They were on time - gave us a window of time, and they were here right at the start of that time frame. Very professional and courteous. They had to re-calibrate the double oven since it was not heating correctly. They tested it before and after, cleaned up the area completely after they finished, and were very efficient during the entire service call. We will definitely use them again.

Even though the problem was the vent instead of the dryer, they got on the roof and cleaned out the vent so that the dryer worked properly.

I realized my problem was out of hand on Labor Day, so instead of forgetting, I called Thad's and left a message. I was contacted early the next morning and given a appointment time. The technicians showed up at the exact time and were friendly and courteous. They diagnosed my problem, fixed it, and charged me a fair price. I could not be more impressed! I would recommend them to everyone!

Very well. Our dryer was making quite a noise. We called Thad's on Friday, July 5 but they were on vacation so called again on Monday, July 8. We were told that a service call would be made to our home between 8:30 and 9:00am that morning. My husband told me that Thad and his son arrived on time. They were very nice. Had to take apart the entire back of the dryer to fix the problem. My dryer has been working great! Having just joined Angie's List, I used the list to find an appliance repair person. I read all of the reviews of Thad which were very positive so decided to give his service a try. We're glad we did!

After 6 trips and replacing everything but the sealed system Thad advised that this was not repairable. I pursued a warranty replacement with LG with Thad's help, after threatening to sue LG I got a new fridge. Thad was prompt, professional, and loves dogs. Can't beat that.

My Kenmore washing machine quit working right. It wouldn't fill fast enough and then it would shut off, I would restart it and it would shut off again during rinse cycle. I had to leave town so my fiance met with Thad Collins and his son. He said they were both very kind and they showed him what the problem was and had it fixed in very little time. My fiance was also able to repair our shower head from what he learned from Thad & his son. So now, our washer works properly and our shower actually works right as well, all from one quick, inexpensive and ifnormative visit from Thad & his son. I am very thankful I read the reviews on Angie's list and found this company. I recommend them highly!

When we got back from vacation, our fridge had no power. We checked the power cord, fuse box ect.. I checked Angie's list & called Thad's appliance. They came out that day, explained the problem (easy enough for me to understand) and told me the part would be in Friday or Monday. Monday they came installed the part for a fair price (My husband checked on line for prices). They EARN their A+ rating.

Our seven year-old LG french door refrigerator completely quit working. The light and LED readouts inside worked, but the fan and motor did not. I called a nationwide service provider but the earliest date they could get a person out to look at it was ten days away, and we were living out of ice chests. I found Thad's service listed on the LG website and gave them a call. I got no answer, but Thad's wife returned my call several hours later and set an appointment for two days later. In the meantime I did some refrigerator-shopping as I was not at all sure ours could be fixed. Thad called before coming out, and he and his son arrived promptly. They were friendly, professional, efficient, and got along great with our energetic Labrador. They diagnosed the problem--that model did not have a thermostat controlled emergency breaker to cut off the light. The interior light had stuck "on" and the heat from the bulb had melted the housing of the circuitry box and caused the motor to shut-down. Thad reset something in the back of the refrigerator and got it cooling, although the light could not be used. That was fine with me--my ice chests don't have working interior lights, either. The entire visit lasted less than an hour and they left the kitchen cleaner than they found it. Thad called me back about an hour later with an estimate for the LG replacement part. It was about $325, but my shopping trip had proven that a new refrigerator would cost many times that, so I couldn't complain. He ordered it and called again a week later when it arrived. Once again they came when they said they would, and had the part installed and the light working in about ten minutes. While I understand people's complaints about cost, I did not find Thad to be any more expensive than others, and cheaper than the national service provider I've used in the past. They are friendly and helpful, professional in appearance and demeanor, and they work fast. I will definitely call them first the next time I need help with an appliance.

I highly recommend their service! From the first phone call to the final installation I was very pleased with their service, professionalism and promptness. They were originally scheduled for a late afternoon visit but had an opening come up earlier in the day and called to check if it was possible to come sooner, which worked with my schedule very well.
