My husband and I purchased living room furniture from the local Ashley furniture store. We had a good experience with the saleslady and delivery personel. We had decided to go back to the Midland Ashley furniture store to purchase more items for our living room. It consisted of 2 bookshelves and a tv stand. We lingered through the store picking out furniture we would purchase for Christmas for the rest of our house. Two days after we ordered, we had the delivery scheduled. The delivery personel, brought in the wrong bookshelves, the wrong color. I told them and they took them back and told me that the wharehouse would give me a call about the issue. Later that day the wharehouse called they had no knowledge of the issue, therefore I informed them. They told me my sales representitive would be calling me to straighten out the issue. She did not call. I called her the following day, she had no knowledge of the issue, so I also informed her. She said she would look into it and call me back, which she did not. I allowed a significant amount of time to pass, and decided I should go down there to see what the problem was. She did not check into it, I had to point out to her the bookshelves that I had wanted and she noticed the tags were placed incorrectly on the items. What a simple mistake, I thought. I let her know it was fine to reorder the correct bookshelves. She took me to the front desk where the manager was, she informed the manager that I was the customer with the mix up, and the manager replied, we will have to reorder them. The sales lady took my reciept and laid it on the managers desk to be reordered. I had left the store with a positive attitude this would be taken care of. I called the store a few days later to seek the delivery date for the bookshelves. The woman who answered the phone had checked and replied that it would be almost 3 weeks before we would have the delivery. I was confused as to why this issue would take so long to fix. She replied that the bookshelves would have to be built and therefore the issue was something that I would have to understand, once again. No problem, I thought. However, when the time had passed and I still had not recieved a phone call for delivery, my husband called to find out why. The lady who answered the phone, had no idea what was going on with the bookshelves, it seemed as if the items were not ordered. She said she would check into the issue, and once agian call us back. After looking at the amount of the purchase and the stores incapabilty of correcting a simple mistake, I decided to go inform the manager that I wanted my money back. We drove down to the store, and noticed the manager and several sales personel standing around and socializing. The manager came over, no apology or sense of understanding came from her. She sat at a desk and called the wharehouse to seek the issue. She did not ask any questions of us about the problem. I informed her she had an employee already checking into the issue, which she obviously did not care about. She finished talking to the wharehouse, and informed us that the bookshelves needed to be ordered. I informed her that our saleslady informed her of the issue almost 3 weeks ago, and that the she had said they needed to be ordered. I told her that we had spent over $5000, from her store. She obviously did not care. She did not appologize or offer any explaination to correct the problem. I then told her, no I want my money back. She said that there is a process to get a refund and that I would have to call the Vice President, to find out how. He would be in the store on Monday. I told her we would not be back to her store, and her reply was OK. Once again the customer has to do the stores job. A simple mistake was made, and no employee, not even the manager seemed to care enough to fix the problem.the
