Upstairs A/C unit quit cooling. Initially called another co. who came out, added coolant and said we were good to go. An hour later and still no cooling. He came back and diagnosed as a bad TXV, said it wouldn't be in for 2 days. OK, as long as downstairs is working, we can survive. Get a call from wife that downstairs is now hot. Called Aire Serv since they did the install at construction, hoping they would have a TXV. Ceasar came out around 6 pm and found that the other tech had disabled the downstairs unit, not upstairs. After getting it back online and adding some coolant, he had me kick on the upstairs unit and immediately diagnosed that the condenser had not kicked on. Found out the capacitor was bad (he showed me the readings), replaced it (showed me the good readings) and added some more coolant. Within 30 mins. the house was cooling. I only wish I would have called Aire Serv in the first place!
Description of Work: Diagnose why upstairs A/C was not working. Replaced capacitor and added coolant.

It worked good for the first couple of weeks, but it struck me as not quite working the way we'd wanted it. It started blowing cold air back out before it would blow the heated air. When I called them back to fix the problem, they told me it would be another $800 to come and fix the issue.
Description of Work: Modified heating system, so that it would heat the air before it started blowing it through the vents.

I called Permian Basin Aire Serve and also placed an online request for service due the evaporator freezing on my AC unit on Monday 6/2. Its several days (Friday 6/6/) and several calls later and I have yet to see Aire Serve. I called Josie again today to ask who I had to kill to get some service. She said they were busy and must have lost my call, I guess they lost all 6 of them and my online request because they didn't show up again. The answering service is a joke. I tried asking whether or not the tech would show or if I was on the list and she could not answer any questions or contact any tech. She did offer that they might show up, maybe... but she didn't know. She also seemed very upset that I would even ask to know if the tech would be arriving and let me know she was very busy; She "had to answer the phone 8 times since 5 o'clock" I called at 8pm. I asked her to have the owner call me but he didn't call either. My unit is still under warranty and I can only speculate as to the reason but I suspect this is why the tech has not shown up. I wish I could say this is the first and only time I've had to deal with this company but... A couple of weeks before the latest "service" my builder contacted them about an installation issue I requested to be corrected. The systems return air is undersized and produces a loud whistling when the blower turns on. This is a known issue with the houses that were built in my subdivision and is evidently well understood as my builder called him and described the problem as "another one with the whistling". The tech did show up long enough to look at the grille and tell me to "call the office" and then left. So, I thin/k I need to call the office so no one will show up to fix the problem... useless. Update : Aire Serve finally made it out and added an additional return air grille and duct. The AC is now working correctly and not freezing up the evaporator also the grilles are no longer whistling. When they finally came out to do the work the staff was professional and did a good job. I still would not recommend Aire Serve due to the difficulty in getting them to respond. Summers in Odessa Tx are too hot to have to wait over a month to get service.

Mid-yr 2012 we solicited bids to install an ac/heating system. This company won our business because of price and ability to start within a week. I checked them out on bbb.org and even called the state to verify their license. Unfortunately it was a fiasco from the beginning. The salesman who was Johnny on the spot to give a quote basically disappeared and wouldn't not respond to phone calls. If we did catch him on the phone he would make promises he would not keep. We even called the owner and told him what happened. He made promises he didn't keep. The unit was finally installed and working about 1 month later. By the time cold weather hit we started to suspect that they had installed the wrong type of heating unit because our electric bills were quite high. We checked our invoice and saw that the correct unit was stated in the quote. Again we tried to call our original contact. Again no response. Our last hope was to try the owner one more time before going to the Better Business Bureau. This time he responded and came out to see for himself. He started trying to tell us the unit was costing more money than we expected because we weren't changing filters often enough. This without even checking the filter first. Finally he got up into the attic and looked at the unit. When he came down he agreed that the wrong unit had been installed. He did make it right and except for a freon leak 5 months in on the correct unit all has been fine. Although it took 5 days and as many of their techs to find the leak. Again we were initially told that we weren't changing filters frequently enough. To be fair the tech that finally found the leak started mid-afternoon one day and worked until mid-night that night finding and fixing the leak. He was very conscientious. The business was very prompt getting someone out each of the 5 consecutive days we called with the re-occurring problem of no ac.

I had replaced the thermostats and continued to have problems. The units (I have 2 -front and back) would come on and not cool. I called at 10am. The company scheduled to come ca 1 pm. When they had not arrived by 1:45 I called. The receptionist indicated the service team should have called. Within 15 minutes the owner of the company had come by to start diagnosing the problem. It took the serviceman, Rudy ca 2 hr to fix the incorrect wiring on both the thermostats and the original installation. The units have worked perfectly since.
Description of Work: A/C units were not cooling after installation of new thermostats by different company.
