Description of Work: The technician that assisted me solved a mystery that at least 3x other technicians from Angie's List companies could not solve... why my AC was cycling on and off sporadically. There ended up being a partial short in a wire from the condenser leading from the outside. Very difficult thing to identify so I am very grateful for that. The majority of the ~$362 I paid was for the time this expert technician spent troubleshooting and that was money well spent. He also refilled the Freon in my unit and that cost more than I would expect based on what I typically pay other providers. ...I have 7x units between my home and 2 rental properties. But all in all, I would totally use Walker again because they demonstrated the best expertise I've seen yet.

Description of Work: Angie, I paid you $79.00 for a 22-point inspection on my heating unit. When he arrived, 1-1/2 hrs. late, he spent 5 minutes with the unit and then told me it could not be fixed, and that I would have to buy a new unit. He would have someone from his office call me the following Monday. Never received a phone call. When he got ready to leave, he said "Sorry, but I am going to have to charge you a service call fee of $80.00 anyway". He did not do any work to my unit and I had already paid you $79.00. I think somebody owes me $79. or $80. dollars, don't you? When can I expect my REFUND? Won't be using you or Walker Heating ever again.

Description of Work: Walker Air repaired the condenser in my A/C unit. My air conditioner was not cooling so the fan would run continuously. I bought a coupon for diagnostic service and $50 off repairs (I added the cost of the coupon to the cost of service I entered above). I was contacted within 24 hours via a message to my account on the Angie's List website. The repairman was Tad. He was prompt, polite and professional. I was most impressed that when he saw how old my unit was, he did not start talking about selling me a new one or say he couldn't fix it; he just did his job expeditiously. I had questions, which he answered honestly. I will definitely do business with Walker Air Conditioning again.

Description of Work: Showed up on time. Repairman was in uniform in a marked truck. He checked out my AC unit and determined the problem was with the thermostat. He had several different models to choose from and installed the one we chose. He took the time to go over the directions and make sure we were comfortable with the new thermostat. He cleaned up all the materials and even replaced the filter in the attic before leaving. I highly recommend Walker Air Conditioning and Heating.

Description of Work: We took advantage of a deal to service AC and Heater maintenance for 1 year. We have 2 units to service each time. The service went well and the tech took time to explain everything in great detail. We sure will use them again if the price is right.

Description of Work: They came out and evaluated my old unit and gave me several options. I elected to go with a new unit which they installed. The unit didn't work quite right at first, but they came back twice and got it going correctly.

Description of Work: The igniter went out on our gas heater during one of the coldest nights of the winter. They came the next day and replaced it. The only problem was when changing the filter, the technician did not notice that the opening is nonstandard, requiring two types of filter. Probably in a hurry, but the new filter was useless as installed. Not a huge deal, but reduces my confidence in them. They did get to us quickly, so I will give them benefit of the doubt.

Description of Work: They came in to give us a second opinion about having black mold which we were told we had by a scam company. Walker explained that it was just mildew. They fixed the source and cleaned our unit. They were really good and helped us feel much better. They also explained what black mold would look like. We will use them again.

Description of Work: Installed a new heat-pump HVAC system to replace the old one that had numerous issues. |The inside unit was installed on the first day but the rain prevented the installation of the outside unit. |Due to the inclement weather, they didn't get back until 2 days later when they completed the outside unit install and final connections. | |They were able to get the heat back on the first day using the auxiliary heating of the system so I had heat during the bad weather. | |The quality of the work is excellent. |One issue that came up was that the new inside unit was too large for the space. So a smaller form factor unit had to be sent out. |Due to this, the paperwork that I have has the incorrect serial number for the unit. I'm still waiting for them to send the updated paperwork.

Description of Work: Some kind of igniter was burned out, the house was 61 degrees when we got home from a few days away- we called, they said to expect the tech between 1200 and 4pm- he was at the door 10 minutes later! I know they are just down the street from us but this was astoundingly fast. Very happy with their service.

Description of Work: I've used Walker twice. I really like this company. They replaced my AC condenser when it died--the cost was around $3000 or $3300. Then I called them again last month when my thermostat was acting up. I just wanted a standard thermostat, nothing fancy, and they didn't try to up-sell me, which I really appreciated. The cost for that was about $100. I will continue to use Walker in the future for my HVAC needs.
