Description of Work: Walker A/C performed a complete A/C & heating replacement. We contacted Walker for an estimate. Cory came over for an in-house evaluation. He reviewed the existing unit and accurately described the work will be done, based on the estimate given. Cory was ready for all the questions I had for him, considering I have previously met with 10 other A/C companies. Walker's estimate was one of the best I have received. We made our decision on Thursday afternoon and the technicians were onsite the next day to do the install. All work was completed within 8 hours. They were clean, friendly, polite, and informative. At end of job, the lead tech explain how to use our new unit and was very patient with our questions. All work went as described by Cory, and the only surprise was seeing the filth from the old unit. I was happy with my choice and replacing everything.

Description of Work: The technician came out on Monday October 31st and performed the evaluation process. He determined the trigger mechanism for the upstairs heater was not working properly and this was preventing the fire from being lit. He needed to get the part and said he would return on Tuesday November 1st. He did return with the part and finished the repair as promised.

Description of Work: Walker Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. replaced our air conditioner and furnace(which were 18 years old) after our condensor started leaking earlier this summer. Their sales representative, Cory, spent two hours with my husband and me reviewing the different sizes and types of heating and a/c systems and the advantages and disadvantages of each. We decided on a new Trane XR15 System (furnace and air conditioner), new slab, new filter base, air seal and safety switch. Cory also advised us of their financing option which provides for 0% interest as long as the invoice is paid within one year.

Description of Work: Replace the 220V switch that controls the compressor.

Description of Work: Replaced existing 5-ton and 2 1/2 ton systems with new units. Systems changed were the condensers, gas furnaces, evaporator coils, drain pans, concrete condenser pads, insulated supply plenums, insulated return plenums, thermostats, filter cabinets and filters. Also changed were the breakers in the master breaker panel, electrical disconnects, gas flex lines, gas stops and electrical whips. Walker also arranged for the permit with the city, removed all old equipment and sealed all duct connections with air-tight mastic.

Description of Work: We were referred to Walker by Zubra Electric and we had had great luck with them. I checked on Walker with Angies list and found that they were very well rated so I called them. Our AC unit had quit and Zubra said the problem was more that just the wrong breaker and recommended Walker. Walker responded that same day and it was very hot outside. They diagnosed the problem as a burned out motor. They replaced the motor that day and we had AC again until about 7pm. I called Walker again and they sent out an after hours repairman who fixed a loose wire and it worked until about 2am and then quit again. I called Walker first thing in the morning and they sent a repairman out late that afternoon with another new motor since that one had burned up too. We did not get charged for the after hours service call or the 2nd motor.

Description of Work: I had water dripping out the drain outside of my home. I had another company come out and supposedly cleaned the lines. This drain continued to drip. I called Walker (from all the reviews I read on Angies list) and set up an appointment. The tech was professional, kind and curtious. He showed me the problem and explained how he was going to fix it. He never talked down to me like the last repair person. When he finished he showed me the work and told me how to keep the drain pipe clean.

Description of Work: replaced smashed duct work, gave me estimate on replacing remainder of old duct work with more insulation and on 2nd after hour emergency repair fixed a/c after capacitor burned out. This company diagnosed my air conditioning problem after 3 other a/c people over the last year said nothing was wrong. Then they replaced a smashed duct . They also are working up an estimate for replacing my old hard metal ductwork that is not properly insulated from the heat with new higher energy rated insulated duct work. I was not getting harder any air to blow out of 3 vents there fore those rooms were always hot. The duct installers found that the ducts were actually closed or dampered off in the duct work going to those 3 rooms, so once they opened the duct up , cold air began to blow in rooms we haven't had any air in for almost a year... Like i said it took the guys about 10 minutes from their arrival to solve this problem. Then they found the smashed duct and cut it out and replaced it with new piece of duct. He also took the time to show me how much dirt and dust was in that old duct. If I don't have them replace all the old duct work I will at least get the ducts cleaned. Never having seen in a duct before I was shocked at how much crap was in there. Ironically after they left my house experienced a unrelated air emergency. That evening my air started blowing warm air, I called the after hours emergency # and in little over an hour an emergency technician, Calvin was at my door. The capacitor a part of the air condition that is attached to the outside unit had burnt out. This can go out any time and I experienced this last year with a brand new air conditioner at our previous residence. It was only 3 months old and the capacitor blew out. That repair took over 2 days,and I couldn't even get a tech out the same day to see what was wrong. The tech arrived the next day,as they didn't handle after hour emergencies and after diagnosing the problem had to go get a capacitor to fix the problem . THat repair took over 2 days and we had to go sleep at a hotel because it was 90 degrees in our home. In contrast to that repair , Calvin with Walker Heating and air showed up with capacitors in stock as well as motors so that most repairs can be accomplished the same visit. He diagnosed the problem in less than 5 minutes and my air was back on in less than 30 minutes!!!!! The biggest and most pleasant surprise was that I was not charged a 2nd service call because they had been to my house earlier that day and I already owed one service call. Although this repair was 100% not related to them doing work earlier that was an incredible gesture and why I want everyone to know about this special company. I was also given a substantial discount on the charges, ( parts and labor) because I am a angies list member. On a final note, last week I had to use a air conditioning company through my home warranty company to see what was wrong with my air flow issue. I was charged a service call and the guys they sent out didn't find the air duct was closed. He just wrote up a bid to replace duct work. I knew the duct was smashed as it was visible to the naked eye, but I had hoped he would find something he could fix for what I had to pay for this service call. Since I would have to pay for the new ducts, since the warranty doesn't cover them I wanted an A rated company to do the work. So I called Walker Heating and AIr. Samuel and Louis the 2 duct work installers were on time and very professional. They cleaned up their mess from the hall after they left and were 2 out of my 3 heros yesterday. They opened the duct and Calvin came in hours later and fixed my air conditioning emergency.

Description of Work: Installed a 3-ton Lennex A/C. Came on a Friday and explained four options plus costs. Had a tech stop and check air ducts. Service workers arrived on Saturday morning and by 2p, my new unit was installed, air ducts were serviced and the area was clean.
