First contact, email to Walker at 9:15 Wednesday night, they called at 8:30 Thursday morning and rep at the house by 10:00. Agreed on unit and price, was told service crew would be at the home with new unit Friday afternoon by 2:00. Arrived by 1:30 Friday afternoon and by 4:00 Friday afternoon was running cool air. Less than 48 hours and home cool and comfortable.

the service call was delayed one day because of weather; but tech showed up a little before the apt time the next day service was quick and professional when I researched the part and learned that it was marked up apx 3X above retail I was a bit miffed I do understand that service companies have overhead costs & are not charities; however, add a $80 service charge to that markup and it does feel a bit steep other than overall cost I am satisfied with the service

We have a 2 story home with "zoned" HVAC meaning separate systems upstairs and downstairs. I noticed water streaming down outside kitchen window. Turned out that the neighbors leaf blowing had completely packed our AC drains and they had backed up to the second floor. Meanwhile the downstairs unit quit working suddenly (in Dallas, TX in late July!!) I had called the company that originally installed that unit. That company was rude and told me that they would be out in several days! "What was my problem I had 2 units??" Walker came out quickly. They replaced capacitor on dead condensor unit and blew out the drains so that they were working correctly again. All is well.

It couldn't have gone better. The technician was about 15 minutes early. He was very professional and explained in detail everything he found and what he fixed. We have one unit that is very old, and he said since it was still working to not consider replacing it until later.

Walker offered a very competitive quote for the work (they were the best price out of the 5 quotes I received). They also arrived on time and completed the work in one day as they stated they would. A couple of air duct issues were identified and they took responsibility and addressed them quickly, and on top of that they added another vent and duct in my kitchen at no charge, outstanding service, and outstanding customer service, very friendly! They truly stand behind their work and product. I will be using them again as I will be replacing another HVAC unit in my house.

Walker has consistently provided excellent followup service after the original install of my heat pump. On this call, they responded quickly to my query (not through Angies List) and set up an appt within a week. Matt was punctual, professional and performed the service I requested. He was thorough and installed solutions above my expectations. He was courteous and went over with me what he had done to be sure I understood the best way to maintain.

Brandon was very knowledgeable and professional. Arranged for the installation, an electrical contractor to update my circuit board and special financing. He was very thorough and detail oriented. I talked to several other companies, but he was exceptional in comparison. The installation took two days. The crew was very pleasant and hardworking. They were also very considerate of not making a mess of my house and were considerate of the fact that I had indoor house cats that I didn't want let out. The product and installation is working wonderfully. I'm very satisfied.

The company was responsive during the process with one exception. It took several calls to have them correct the main phone number on our account. My husband called for service and gave them his number to call back, but they kept calling my cell phone instead.

I've been on a constant search for a reliable AC company. I called Walker to have my AC units serviced using their new customer coupon. They serviced my 2 newer AC units and repaired my older one that wasn't cooling. It needed freon and a new capacitor. Well the old unit made it through the summer with the capacitor repair and I'm very pleased. Will call them again for servicing and repair.

I always have a great experience with Walker Heating & AC. My air conditioner stopped working on a Saturday, and I called Walker AC for an emergency appointment. They arrived within an hour and soon after, told me what was wrong with my unit. The representative was curteous and very patient, taking time to explain the details. It took about an hour for the repair to be completed. I have not had any issues with the unit since the repair was completed, and I paid a very reasonable price for the work.

Walker was subcontracted by the general contractor that rebuilt my house after a fire in 2010. (That's why I didn't pay anything directly to Walker.) There was some confusion, because I was dealing with more than one company on the HVAC situation. The one really in charge of decisions was the general contractor, and I had numerous problems with them. Eventually, I came to realize that Walker was trying to do the best they could given the circumstances. For example, the general contractor tried to install a cheap HVAC system for me that was not replacement value. I had to have them change that out. Walker didn't have the say in this because they were subcontracted. So you can begin to see how confusing all this was. General contractors, generally speaking, have never distinguished themselves for congeniality and fairness. Patience is recommended, to put it mildly. On the other hand, Walker is a very fine company, an old family business in town. They did their very best and really went to all extremes in trying to accommodate my needs as a customer. They went in and re-checked all sealed areas, installed an additional duct branch in the attic, put in higher-quality outflow vents. All this was at their expense. I'd offered several times to pay for two of the outflow vents, but they wouldn't bill me. They took careful, scientific measurements of everything, to avoid guesswork. We were there one of the days when they came in to diagnose & remedy the temperature-control problems. They came numerous times, all total. The worst problem I encountered was that they did not seal the HVAC cabinet at all when they installed it, because they thought the general contractors would do it (and vice versa). I didn't even know it was supposed to be sealed, so it wasn't caught until Walker's tech noticed it in assessing the problems this past summer (two years later). But Walker was the one to find it and the one to eventually seal it. (Getting the general contractor to do things is not easy.) There are three generations of the Walkers active in the business. The father is Ricky Walker. The son is Richard. There is a grandfather, but I've never met him. The thing that stands out about these people is that they are sincere and honest. It doesn't get any better than that. It looks as though they've worked really hard to build up the local reputation they have. They've won the Super Service Award several years in a row. I should add that their service manager, Michael or Mike (?), is also very polite and helpful. From what I can tell, there isn't a bad one in the whole bunch. Sometimes they had a little trouble getting back to me. But if you will email or call directly to one of the owners or the service manager, they will definitely get in contact with you. Keep in mind that I was not one of the paying customers, so they did very well on communication, given that unusual circumstance. They are very busy, especially in the hot months, but that's because they're a popular company. So that's a good sign, really. I think you won't go wrong with Walker Air Conditioning & Heating. If you do have any problems, ask to speak to Ricky, Richard, or Michael. I think you'll find they take pride in their work.

The additional vents really made a difference in cooling the room. We have used Walker AC before and will continue to do so.

I was very impressed from beginning to end. Brandon came out to do the estimate. He was very thorough. He spent more time determining exactly what was needed to be done in the way of installing the new system, repairs to the air ducts, and increasing the air flow in several of the rooms in the house. He spent time to explain and worked with me to pick out the best system for my home. After I made the decision to have Walker do the work, they were able to install the system within the week.Brandon told me that it would take 2 days to install the system. The workers, Gomez and Victor, were so professional. They worked thru the heat (the heating unit is in the attic and it was very hot that week). They had the work completed in the two days as promised. They spent time going over the new system with me and answering any questions that I had. Walker was wonderful to work with from the time I made the call to schedule the estimate thru the finished product. I will definitely recommmend them to anyone needing a system.

My house was without AC and I initially called them out to try and fix my old HVAC unit. They made an assessment and told me in accurate detail what the issues were in regards to the unit (I knew it was accurate as it was not the first inspection of my unit). I tried to get him to repair the unit but he did not want to take my money to do a patch work because he advised it would not be money well spent. I appreciated his honesty, as he could have taken my money and run. Their quoted price was well under the 3 other quotes we received, and that made me a bit nervous as I was wondering how they could come so far under their competitors. After comparing quotes, I realized they sold me exactly what I needed, unlike the other quotes that attempted to sell me over and above what was required to cool my house and reduce my cooling cost. Bottom line Walker was top notch in every aspect and from the quote, the install team (Way to go Gomez!), and follow-up. I will be more than willing to recommend Walker Air to anyone I know that requires service or replacement of their HVAC unit.

I live in NC but own a house in Ferris, TX. Walker not only fixed the AC promptly but kept me informed, billed what they said they would and did a great job! Living out of State you take a chance on getting taken advantage of but I had no worries with Walker and highly recommend them to anyone!

On a hot June day in Texas my A/C was not cooling so I called Walker Air Conditioning and Heating at the recommendation of one of my neighbors. I called them at about 4pm after giving up on another A/C company to return my call. Since it was so late it was considered an emergency call so the diagnostic fee would be $139 vs $99 but that seemed reasonable to me. I was first told they had 23 calls ahead of me but the receptionist checked and said she could have someone rerouted to come out within about an hour. This was a relief since I have an 18 year old dog who was panting due to the stifling heat in the house. Mat, the technician, called me when he was 10 minutes away and arrived at 5pm. He was very friendly, professional and easy to deal with. He was extremely knowledgeable and technically competent. The problem turned out to just be a need for 2 lbs of freon but discussions with him were very helpful about our need in the future for new A/C units plus discussions about how the house ducting could be modified to give more efficient cooling. This house used to be a duplex which is now a single family house but unfortunately the ducts are set up to cool the house split down the middle as it was when it was a duplex - this set up has not always worked the best. His suggestion was that whenever we need to purchase new A/C units (he never tried to sell us anything - he just gave us information) to have the front living area of the house cooled separately from all bedrooms in the back rather than the current set up. That option makes much more sense. Mat was excellent! When we are ready to purchase one or both new units we will definitely call Walker A/C and Heating.

They were really good but they are really bad now. They have very good rating on Angie’s list and they have to be downgraded. They did show up and do the work. They do okay on responsiveness. It’s the work quality and the price is not good. They are fine on punctuality. I would not use them in the future.

I called Walker A/C after the insurance company had referred them to check our units after a recent hail storm. One of the units began making a terrible noise. I liked Walker A/C so I called them. It took a couple of days to determine a fix. Our unit is evidently older and the part was hard to find. Randy added some additional brackets to secure the shroud and made finding a replacement unnecessary. Way to go Randy!!! We will definitely use Walker A/C again.

The sales rep arrived on time as scheduled. He gave me several options to choose from and I selected a mid-point package. I used the coupon for the 5" filter as well. There was no pressure and I took my time to research before making my selection. The installation team arrived on time, performed the work in a professional manner and answered any questions I had about the new equipment they were installing. I purchased the extended labor warranty with my new unit as well. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the experience and most important my new AC is working as advertised.

They were very professional, polite, courteous, and caring.

The workers came out and spent over 8 hours at my home. They had to take the stairs apart that goes up to my attic to get to the unit. They put the stairs back on wrong. The new unit makes a loud noise.The unit they put outside had scratches on it When the workers left, Gomez stated they would tell Corey Walker that the unit is making a loud noise and a technician would come out the next morning, April 24, and no one showed. I had to call Walker Air Conditioning to speak with Corey Walker who I could not get a hold of, he never returned my phone call. I then called the main office and I spoke with Alice Walker, and told her my concern of the stairs being put back incorrectly, the loud noise that my unit was making, and the scratches on my outside train unit. Corey did finally return my call, and had an attitude regarding my issue and said that he would have a technician sent out today. I asked why not this morning and he said that was beside the piint and someone would be out there. Going forward I would not use their service again and I would not refer them to anyone. UPDATE: I spoke with Ricky Walker and he was very caring, polite, courteous, and professional. They came out and made all the necessary repairs by going above and beyond. All my needs were met, and I am currenly having him put in another A/C unit. He had a drywall contractor come out and repair the damage done to my stair casing. They also offered a free air duct cleaning for free, which was a $700 value. I would refer them to all family and friends for future services.

Overall, it was a very good experience. This was not the least expensive quote that we got, but I thought it was fair,and felt most comfortable with their sales person. He explained everything to me very clearly, then returned to go over everything with my husband. We signed up on a monday, and the system was installed the next Friday. The workers arrived promptly at 8:30 a.m. They worked all day, knowing that I was having company the next day. There was a glitch with the installation of the thermostat, so they had to install a temporary one so that we would have a/c. They did not finish till 9p.m. The next day they sent out one of their technicians, who installed the awesome thermostat, and everything is working great.

All steps went well from the initial quote to the final installation completion and cleanup. Very professional. Doing business with Walker Air Conditioning was an excellent experience for me.

This company is amazing. They were #2 in our quest for 3 bids to fix or replace our air conditioner. They were $2000 less than the #1 bid. Brandon was far more knowledgeable than the #1 bid, a company we'd had do work in the past. He told us about rebates on Trane, something the first company didn't mention. He offered 0% financing if we needed it for a 12 month period through an arrangement they have with Wells Fargo. And, when he learned we had company coming in that weekend, he said he could get the unit in the very next day. We went with Walker. B explained that their crews were employees, not subcontractors. The 2-man crew showed up on time the next morning and worked hard all day, completing the job, doing all items promised. The crew leader spoke English. The work was very professionally done. The unit works very well. They put in the new thermostat we got using the Angie's List coupon and expanded a return-air that was sized too small for either our previous unit or the new one. I can't emphasize enough how terrific it is to have a company send out knowledgeable professionals from beginning to end. This was such a great experience.

They are on time with reasonable prices and they don't try to sell you a bunch of junk.
