Extremely slow and not customer friendly. They start out being your best friend and make everything seem like it would be very easy. The furniture removal and return was better then average. But everything else was a mess and slow. They promise one thing and deliver another wrong promise. They are hard to get a hold of and return calls. They want you to go thru their sub contractor so they can get a kickback from them for getting them work. Things like flooring and painting....Get them on your own and get the price firm. Our insurance was good but they milked them for all they could.

The contact with the principals of the company on the day of the fire was very good. They seemed sincere and wanted to assure me they would take care of everything after a traumatic fire. One of the owners actually bought a first aid kit and brought it back to me, because I had burns that I hadn't realized when the fire department was there earlier. And, the estimator, Kevin Brown actually used his personal van to take my four dogs to a boarding facility, because I couldn't take them myself. I am forever grateful to him for that act of kindness. However...construction was delayed due to confusion between Pro-Craft and my insurance company. After construction began, there were several delays due to a permit error and their pulling resources away from my job to take care of "an emergency." The completion time was late by over a month from the estimated completion date. Several days and sometimes a week went by with no work on the house...I'm not sure why. The work completed by sub-contractors was professional. However, there seems to have been a lot of work completed by Pro-craft that was substandard. I would compare the most of the "punch outs" as it is called to that of an apartment "make ready" that was slapped together. For example, the back door was painted and so was the outside around the back of the house, but they didn't strip off the old paint...they just painted on top of the old paint. The construction supervisor was very friendly, but I don't think he was as diligent as he should have been. For example, there were doors opening the wrong way, baseboards not matching, painting that wasn't quite right, shelves that needed to be replaced that weren't, roofing issues that were missed, etc. There's a long list... I should not have had to point all of these issues out. As the supervisor, I felt it was his responsibility to make sure these issues were completed and completed correctly. They fixed the issues, but my point is that they wouldn't have been had I not pointed them out when he should have done it. I had cork flooring installed, but they did not apply the sealer to it. Instead, they brought the sealer to me so I could do it myself. And, regarding this and other issues that I discovered after I moved back in, I was told by the supervisor that his concern was to get me back in the house as soon as possible. It will be almost impossible for me to apply the sealer on the flooring now that I am back in the house with 4 dogs and furniture. The cost of the flooring seemed to be much more than the price I was quoted from the manufacturer. However, I have not been provided invoices from anything I paid for that insurance did not pay for, so I have no way of determining if it was correct. The owners and Debra, the office manager, seemed to be the most helpful and knowledgeable; however, when I said that I wanted to invite them out to see the issues that I saw and my concerns about issues that the construction supervisor should have recognized without my having to point them out, they didn't come. I was told that they would meet me, but on the day we agreed upon, none of them came. An hour and a half after the time we agreed upon, instead of the owners and/or the office manager showing up, the construction supervisor called and said he was on his way. Up to this point, I believed they were really wanted to hear my concerns. After this...I'm not so sure they do. They provide a 5 year warranty. Within a month after moving in, the area between the ceiling and the crown molding in the dining room was separating and there were two crack above doors. The response was...the house is settling, so we'll repair it once. Really...the house settled in a month...the house is over 50 years old; I think it's already settled. In addition, the person who came out to fix this issue and to install some latches wasn't even sure what all he was supposed to do. He didn't have all of the materials, so I ended up doing it myself. I feel this company has great potential and wants to do the right thing, but you will probably have to go to the owners if you if you issues. Maybe if I had done that I would have had a better experience.

In Jan 2011 Pro Craft contracted with me to fix my water damaged floor. I received their name through State Farm. The sales person and the person overseeing my job were slick. At first I thought they were professional. NOT SO. The work was supposed to take one week. I had to make several calls to find out why they were not at my home as promised. The response always started, "I meant to call"...I meant to call and say I had to finish up with a punch list in Rowlett, I meant to call and tell you the flooring needed to be delivered from out of state, I meant to call and say I made a mistake, the flooring is here but it is at the delivery point. This went on through March. I had two prescheduled parties with my washing machine, stove and diswasher in my dining room. When they finished the flooring there were humps in the floor. The so called "supervisor" somehow didn't see these. He was surprised when I called him. The humps were so obvious one would have been blindflolded not to see them. Since he was supposed to be overseeing the job one would think he would have corrected the problem without being called. The "supervisor" came out later so I could point out the problem. Although he was "so sorry" he didn't come back to fix the floor in a timely manner. Having given him the benefit of the doubt that maybe his crews didn't work over Easter, I eventually called State Farm who sent out a representative within a couple of days. The State Farm person said yes, the floor needed to be fixed. He was going to call Pro Craft. After a couple of weeks I had to call State Farm again to get the Pro Craft out to fix my floor. Sometime in May I signed off even though there was still a big hump in the floor which wasn't there before. The original flooring company floated out the floor completely. NEXT came the saga of the fence. In the January ice storm my gate came down. Pro Craft was to fix it after my floor. Who knew they would take 5 months to replace my floor. The fence circus was worse than the flooring problem. Can you imagine a company charging $800.00 to put up a fence, itaking several months and when they finished it wouldn't open? The gate was completed on a Wednesday. When I came home it wouldn't open. I wanted to see how long it would take for someone to call me to tell me they would be coming back to fix it. 8 days later I talked to the supervisor about problems with the fence. There were MANY. $800.00 and he reused the wood on my old fence,he didn't use pretreated wood. There were major problems with the design of the gate. I could go through all the problems, but it would take too long. I asked a friend who owns a big construction company to look at the gate. His response was, whoever built this didn't know how to build a gate. My crews would never have left the site with a fence like this. ProCraft sent someone from management out. The manager agreed the fence had major problems. The so called supervisor admitted he had never built a gate!!! However he was sent back , along with the same carpenter to finish the job. There were still many problems with construction...the cross wood in the wrong direction causing the fence to drag. etc, etc. Once again my friend in the remodeling construction business looked at the gate. He said call them back, I 'm working on a big job in Fort Worth, but if you make an appointment I will come to Dallas to supervise. Someone has got to be here to tell these guys how to build a gate because whoever is doing it still doesn't know what they are doing. I didn't want to ask a friend to have to leave his business in Fort Worth to supervise a company who charged me according to several other contractors I called to look at the gate more than 2x what I should have paid. However, Pro Craft never called or came back to check on the job. Vanished..nothing. In March of 2013, I asked the builder on the beautiful speck house who was inspecting the work one day to help me close my gate. I asked him his personal opinion of the gate. All he said was if I had built the gate it would open and close after two years. When his crews came out he had them do patchwork to the gate for free because he felt so badly for me that I had paid so much and still had a gate that was not constructed properly. You ask the question, Why were you such a bad consumer. I would have called them every day until they fixed the floor and the gate. Looking back I would have too. It became one of things that ProCraft wore me down. I also would have gotten other bids, but I asked about the fence at the same time I was doing the floor in January and had not yet determined that the company representatives were slick rather than professional. I have mentioned ProCraft and the shody work to many people. I found out I am not the first person insured by State Farm to use ProCraft and been dissatisfied. I hope this helps people not to use the company. Perhaps it is just because I am an older single woman that they took advantage of me. But one would think if they charged me at least twice what most companies would have charged they would have done a better job.One tip I had from the carpenter...he said the supervisor told him it was an insurance job so get the cheapest material possible. The gate was not paid for by the insurance company.

Initial interactions were great. However, estimator emailed me stating I'd have an estimate that day, and I didn't get it until the next night. Estimate was sloppy - didn't include backsplash (which was damaged by the fire so obviously was getting replaced), included removal of carpet when there's no carpet, and other minor details that didn't make sense. Estimator stated the project would take 4 weeks. However, upon verbally giving them the green light and waiting for a contract, he came back with a 60-90 day timeframe and couldn't justify it other than to say that's what the owner said and they have to allow for code inspections and weather. Was told I'd get a call from the owner the next morning... still never got a call. I expect an estimator to not only estimate cost, but project time. Being off by a magnitude of 200 - 300% is too great for me to feel comfortable with his estimate and how the rest of the project would go.
