Paul's Moving

The movers were punctual and friendly. The used a Uhaul truck, which was a bit of a surprise. Though I was specific when getting my quote that we had a 7'x7' fence dog kennel, the kennel was not able to fit into their truck and we had to scramble to borrow a friend's truck to move it that day. The movers were able to assist us in loading it onto our borrowed truck and unloading it at the new house. When they arrived at the new house they told us that the fridge door needed to be removed in order to get it into our kitchen, but they didn't have the tools to perform that job. A quick call to a family member suggested that they open the doors and slide the fridge through the doorway sideways. That worked! We did a quick inspection of the items that they moved for us, but on a more thorough inspection a week later as we were trying to move furniture to its proper place we discovered a big HOLE in the top of our desk that was not there when we started the move. They must have dropped something heavy on the top of the desk causing it to break. There is no way the movers would have missed it. They, in fact, placed shelves from a bookcase on top of the gash to cover it which is why we didn't see it on our initial inspection of the items. Their staff should have been more honest with us. Truthfully, we are really easygoing people and probably would have just said no problem. When I emailed the company with pictures, they said it had taken me too long to let them know about the damage so they were not responsible. I guess we aren't like many other people who move in and unpack the same day. We didn't get fully settled and unpacked for several weeks and didn't see the damage until we assembled the bookcase with the shelves hiding the damage.

They came up to Indiana to move me. He was very professional and nothing was broken. He was timely. He was here when he said would be. I called him when I arrived and he met me at my home. He actually helped me find it since I was so new to the area.
