Michael Norton was trusted with my great grandmother's furniture which was badly in need of full restoration of the lovely original mahogany & cane. He was very patient & accommodating as I had no real idea of what the original wood & cane finish should look like. He is a very talented artist who takes pride in bringing back treasured furniture & shared every step of the process with me, even recommending an excellent upholstery shop. I am thrilled with the work and highly recommend him, especially if your furniture has great emotional value! We are impressed with the result! You would never know that this piece had sustained any damage. Norton's are true professionals and I would trust them with expensive fine furniture. We will use them again.

He says it isn't bad. I think it is in awful shape. I didn't even know what kind of wood it was. Assuming the work he does is what I hope it will be. Multiple communication and very nice over email, over the phone and in person. He is a very nice person. He was half an hour late and called me over the phone to let me know he would be late.

He was wonderful. I stopped into his shop for the chair repair. I had to have it done in a certain time frame and he was able to squeeze me in and have it back before we thought it would be done. It was absolutely perfect and we had no issues.

repairs look perfict

My wife found Norton Restorations on the internet and I checked it out on Angie's List. Mr. Norton showed us pictures of several impressive restorations he had done. We agreed on a price and he gave us an estimate of how long the repair would take. The repair took about 2 or 3 weeks longer than I expected and I was starting to get concerned. I was having a difficult time getting in touch with him to see what was happening. When we went to pick up the repaired piece, I saw that my concerns were totally unfounded. The repair far exceeded my expectations. Even knowing where to look, it was difficult to see that the music rack had ever been broken. He said he could have done a better job if he had spent more time, but I don't see how it could have been any better. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr. Norton to anyone needing a restoration specialist... his work is top notch.

I bought a vintage classical guitar that was beaten up through massive use, but was a truly lovely instrument ($5000 plus originally). I badly screwed up pulling off a plastic coating from the face of the guitar. It needed totally refinishing with real French polish. Michael Norton not only refinished the instrument, but he wasn't satisfied with the result and went back and started over from scratch and refinished it again. It took him FAR more hours than I had paid him for, but as he said "I promised you a good job, and I wasn't pleased with how it had turned out". It now looks and plays beautifully, and is my most favorite guitar. There are very few TRUE artisans these days, but this person is honestly EXCEPTIONAL. I had hunted around before contacting Michael and his price was very competitive with other instrument refinishers. Only the highest possible praise from me.
