MILLENNIUM HANDYMAN

He initially was called for an estimate and I described exactly what needed to be done. I gave him measurements and explained it was to remove existing doors which were in great shape but needed updating and replacing. I asked if he would come and give an estimate and he said it wasnt necessary since he knew what I wanted and quoted me $600 to replace a double and single patio door. He arrived with an associate and was shown the doors to replace and new doors. He was not clean or professional and had i not already covered the patio and inside floors my home would be more damaged than he left it. He removed the old single door and as he was just starting he said he didnt want to continue and he was leaving. I asked why and he said he wouldnt make me happy with his work and I was demanding to ask him not to place tools and parts on my new wood dining table. My house was without a door and he made me so afraid i begged him to finish and told him i wouldnt say another word. He spent 5 hours trying to get the new door which was the exact door and size of the old door to fit, complaining the house was built wrong and one excuse after another for why he was struggling. He dragged machines through my windows, chipping the paint on the sill and slopped adhesive and caulk over my deck which I specifically tarped and taped to protect, yet he managed to move it out of the way enough to get it on the decking permanently. He was rude and complained that he wasnt make a dime on the job due to my house being built wrong. he damaged the front lawn where he place a saw and left the piles of dust in the grass which is now a brown spot in an otherwise perfectly manicured green grass i am passionate to care for when he had the entire driveway to use the saw and protect the grass. He finished after 5 plus hours and said he wasnt going to do the other doors since he lost money on the first door and left leaving my deck covered in mason dust, wood chips, nails, and caulking on the decking. the inside of my house was worse covered in three rooms from the dust and dry wall plus brick pieces which scratch my newly laid hardwood floors. They made no attempt to clean up anything, leaving the moment he got his check. When he was done and I asked why i could see hugh gaps in the door and light around the entire door he said i should buy a new lock, which he broke removing the old door, and if i installed it right it would tightened the door. I called Lowes, who we bought the door from the next day and they sent someone out who immediate said it had to be removed and reinstalled as it was not framed correctly and wouldnt meet the warranty standard we purchased. they said it wasnt weather resistant yet alone water proof and that the frame was not installed correctly explaining why the door was not closing or sealing. 5n the end it cost me an addition $1000 to remove and redo his work , plus an additional day off work to be home for the job to repair his and install the second door. Now i have the expense of a painter and floor repair as well as damage to my deck which cant be fixed without removing a section of decking to replace the parts he dripped onto.. It was a nightmare..

His work was good, but clean up wasn't the best. He didn't take or dispose of old materials, but did install the new ones. He was a nice guy to work with, very pleasant. I would use him again for smaller jobs or quick repairs. He seemed to be a very honest and direct person.
