They did exactly as expected. What they promised was delivered; and delivered well. I was also looking to do some major things and basically the response I got was an all or nothing deal. They wouldn't do the certain major things without replacing everything; because of that, I don't think I'll ever call them again.

He was very thorough. Excellent all the way around. I will use them for my future roofing needs.

Ellis was nice and responsive to my emails and phone calls to set up and reschedule our appointment. When Ellis checked out my roof, he noticed significant hail damage and recommended a roof replacement. I appreciate this advise and, in fact, do need a new roof, which was covered under my policy. But as a result, Ellis did not do any maintenance or sealing to the roof since it needed to be replaced. So I do not feel that I got $200 worth of services as most roofers provide a free inspection, which is basically what I got. Also, while Ellis took pictures of the roof, the "report" was simply a two sentence email saying there was significant hail damage to the roof and it needed to be replaced. Ellis appears to be professional, knowledgeable and courteous, but I don't recommend the $199 winter package in the event no maintenance is actually performed.

Performed as advertised. Checked all roof penetrations. Resealed / touched up those showing gaps. Didn't try to upsell.A nice plus: took before and after pictures while performing work - delivered via cell phone while on site.From his conduct I have to assume that quality work was performed. I didn't go on the roof to check his work (kind of the point, right) and it hasn't rained hard since he came. (this is why I rated n/a on quality) Good guy, good service. If I need major roof work I'll try him first.

I called Ellis to explain the repair that needed to be done. I had a skylight that was leaking and needed it sealed. I had the roof replaced two years ago and felt the company that did the work wouldn't come out for a repair. Ellis advised me to contact that original company first. I did and they were willing to do the repair. Ellis was very accommodating and understanding. I will use his service for any future roofing needs.

I called Mr. Ellis Smith on 12/1/2011 about some concerns about a leak in my roof from about a year ago which had a temporary repair. I was also interested in his winterizing program to inspect , repair, and re-caulk any other problems he encountered. I had called another roofing contractor earlier in the week and never had gotten a call-back. With the rain getting closer I was concerned about getting the work done before it started raining but Mr Smith told me that he should be able to get to it that same day even tho he already had some other calls in front of me. After lunch he called and said he was on the way and arrived about 1/2 hr later. After some history about the temporary repair, he went right to work and did everything I wanted done. Mr. Smith was very professional in his approach to my concerns and made every effort to make sure my roof would be ready for another winter, inspecting and repairing even some damage I wasn't aware of. Because of my age and weight, I no longer feel safe getting on my roof and it was a great relief to have someone come out for a non-emergency problem and be treated like a "best customer". His pricing was acceptable and he even gave me a senior discount. I would greatly recommend Ellis Smith Roofing for your roofing needs !! w

He gave a report on the condition of the roof of our home. He was very professional, friendly, and seemed very knowledgeable.

He took pictures, gave a detailed explanation and explained nothing nothing need.

Not much of a story, Very few things needed repair and he pointed them out and repaired them.

It went great. He arrived a few minutes early, identified exactly what type of shingle I had, declared it to be a shingle he had on his truck. Then he inspected the vent to be replaced and he went to Home Depot to buy the replacement part. He came back, removed the unused exhaust vent, installed the air vent, and showed me that work. Then he replaced the missing shingles, inspected the entire roof, performed some maintenance in some places. and all the while he was emailed me live pictures from his blackberry. He finished, answered my questions about the lifespan of my roof and the ballpark estimate cost to replace my roof, and then he left. By the way he said replacement was many years into the future so he did not try to sell me on a new roof. Even though he had to drive to Home Depot and buy a part, he did not increase my cost over the cost the advertised Angie's Big Deal special price. I should add that when I first contacted him (via email) he called me very quickly, maybe within 15 minutes or 10 minutes of when I sent the email. During that call he scheduled a mutually convenient time and date and that is exactly when he showed up.

I called Mr. Ellis after seeing his "Angie's List Deal". I knew from past experience that roofing repairs were not inexpensive and that even a small repair would run about what I paid. I had called on a Saturday. He immediately offered to come out to see if it was a repair that he could handle himself based on the pitch of the roof. He felt that he could do the repair that day. Unfortunately, Mother Nature dictated that he return the next morning (a Sunday) at 7:15am because of the extreme heat. We have a copper ridge guard and it was much too hot to grab onto to get to the portion of the roof in need of repair. He returned the next morning to complete the repairs to my satisfaction. Mr Ellis was professional, efficient and honest and I would not hesitate to use his services again. Thank you!

This was my first time using Ellis Smith. HE actually called ME to set up an appointment. He was very professional and personable. I felt like he was very honest and upfront with me. I will definately use him again in the future.

This was a small roof repair special on Angie's List special for I think $125- it was cheap. So cheap I was concerned it would not be good work, might not be professional, most likely try to up sell me a new roof or other things I didn't need or that my job would be bigger than "small'. Well all my concerns proved to be untrue. Spoke directly with Ellis every time. I tried to describe the area where shingles blew off in detail so he could come out and fix in one trip (saving him an additional trip). Ellis wanted to look at the roof to see exactly what was needed. He came out promptly. Inspected the roof and attic. Came back a few days later as agreed. Made the shingle repairs and repaired some seals around the vent pipes. All repairs were done professionally and promptly and for the Angie's Special price. Ellis, I don't know how you do it- two trips plus materials and labor for such a small price, but I'm glad you can. Keep up the good work! I would definitely recommend Ellis and would use him again the next time I have high winds blow shingles off my roof.

I contacted Ellis using the information provided by Angie and established an appointment. Ellis answered my first call and It was not necessary to leave a call-back message or otherwise play phone tag with him. He arrived at my door on time despite his having to drive a long distance from Dallas to Cleburne using my verbal directions He immediately went to work since he had the foresight to bring the required materials, including shingles that matched the existing roof. While he was working, he sent me a constant flow of emailed pictures and comments via his blackberry, eighteen in all. He worked two hours and twelve minutes. He did not ask for any payment other than the $175 I paid for the Angies List coupon. When he left I felt assured that he had performed a good job and that my roof was well repaired. I am very satisfied with the work done and with Ellis personally. I reccommend him highly.

Roof America was hired to replace my roof through an insurance claim. Once they came out and confirmed that I did indeed have damage and needed a new roof, they helped me file a claim with my insurance. They then made arrangements to meet back at my house with the insurance adjuster to insure that both parties were on the same page and could work well with each other. They established a relationship with the insurance adjuster as well as me to insure that both parties were satisfied with the work done, and the price requested. There was compromise on both parties, but they came to an agreement on that day and were able to move forward with the roof replacement right away. I never had to deal with my insurance company again, as the roofing company handled everything. They were fast, professional, and have received several referrals from my roof. The quality is outstanding, and the speed and accuracy at which they did the work was amazing. I never even saw a roofer, as they did it while I was at work in one day. With the Texas weather we have, I'm sure I'll be in need of another roof some day, and Roof America will be my first call.

I was extremely please with the problems that Ellis found and the repairs that he did. All for the advertised rate of his 'Angie's List Big Deal'. He personally answered the first time I called. He was very pleasant and professional and sounded trustworthy and honest right from the beginning. He immediately set up a time to come out to my rental and see where the water leak was coming from. He was there exactly when he said he would be. He took before and after pictures of his findings and repairs and sent them immediately to me. He found the problem and also made several other repair, all for his advertised rate. He also advised of other damage he found and we have since contacted our insurance company about hail damage to our roof. I've already asked Ellis to give us his estimate on replacing the roof since I was so pleased with his initial service. In fact, I've also asked him to now look at the roof of my primary residence to see if we sustained damage from our recent storms in this area. He has always been pleasant to work with, informational and professional, punctual and honest. I hope he ends up being our roofer for our rental and potentially our primary if we find we have sustained damage as well. What a refreshing find Ellis Smith is!

I purchased Angies List Big Deal Coupon for this service. The appointment was for 7:30 AM. Ellis arrived on time, introduced himself and started working immediately. He e-mailed me photos of the items that needed repair, and photos of after he completed the repairs. He also e-mailed his findings including any needed further corrective actions. Examples of his repairs were repairing and caulking nails that had popped up, fixed loose shingle, sealed around pipe collars where needed, repaired 2 flanges that had popped up. Reported and photographel any hail damage, Ellis discussed his findings and the repairs with me prior to leaving. I found him to be personable, honest, intelligent, well qualified and experienced in his field of expertise. Great find, thank you Angies List.

I asked him to help me out with some holes in my wall and he came over looked at the holes gave me an estimate and I gave him my visa (I've worked with him for the past 6 years) and he went got the stuff from home depot brought back my card with a receipt and fixed it same day. the next day after it dried thoroughly he came back wet sanded it so it didn't create a dust storm and painted it. asked me to inspect the work it was great and we parted ways till the next time I need something. he has been consistent all these years.
