The guy was not able to fix the roof. It was more expensive that he thought. He did come back right. I was disappointed that it looked like I was going to need a whole roof, but then I spent the coupon on that. I don't know if that was his fault or not. He was very responsive and came right back. I won't use him again because he didn't judge well what was needed. Update: I didn't see the response form Ellis Smith roof until now, 2 yrs later, but I would like to respond now. Perhaps I was a little harsh in stating that he might not have judged well what was needed, EXCEPT that a month after him coming and not being able to completely take care of the leak, I had another gentleman come and repaired it quickly and for less than $200. It hasn't leaked since. So, although I agree that there might have been some extended time and effort involved in trying to accommodate me, the fact is that you were not able to do it, considered it a major repair, and another roofer DID repair if for very little money. I did give Ellis Smith a B grade with A's in professionalism, punctuality, and responsiveness, but the fact that it was not a major repair, as they stated, makes me believe that my overall B rating is more than fair. Also, in regards to the long drive to serve a customer, I would respond that if they don't want to drive that far, then don't offer service to that area. A customer getting service should not feel obligated to accept inferior service just because the provider drove a long way.

Ellis Smith Roof America came here and took several pictures of my roof, so I will have some kind of a baseline, if I need it for insurance purposes and anything. He immediately sent it from his camera to my e-mail. That was awesome. Then he went over and did some inspections and there were some minor repairs that he did that were included in the deal.

Ellis inspected our roof today and identified and corrected numerous small issues. He was on time, provided before and after pictures of roof issues, a narrative about the overall condition of our roof, and did professional and timely completion of this work. My husband was at home and I was at work. He made sure to keep us both informed of his progress. We give Ellis the highest recomendation and will call Ellis when our roof needs replacement. We couldn't be more pleased. Thanks!!!!!

He was pretty responsive and did professional work. They were reasonable.

Upon inspection, the contractor reported that no significant issues were found on my roof, which was reassuring. I have a two story house. He walked around the back side of the roof (the flatter side), which he accessed by climbing on the garage roof. But he only did a visual inspection of the front side of the roof (the steep side) from a distance, instead of climbing over the ridge for a closer look. I guess it was for safety reasons. Afterwards, he was quite patient and answered my questions. He also identified himself as a licensed insurance adjuster and offered to work with me, should I encounter roof damage from the weather in the future. The contractor was courteous and punctual. Scheduling the appointment by phone was easy enough.g

They arrived on time and provided us with a written inspection and assessment of our roof, including pictures. The information was extremely useful.

We had a leak in the ceiling of our second floor laundry room with a moderate to heavy rain. After consulting Angie's List, I decided to call Ellis Smith because he had a very high percentage of A reports, took pride in doing high quality work, and had done many repair jobs on all types of roofs, including several in our nearby area. Ellis returned my call promptly and arranged to give me an estimate the next morning. After determining that he could not safely inspect the roof alone--it's probably 40 feet above ground level--he arranged to return the next morning, a Saturday, with a crew. They arrived on time, were very pleasant and neat, gave me an estimate with pictures of the damage and a detailed explanation of the repair and materials. They then completed the repair because rain was forecast for the next four days. The rain arrived and the leak was gone! I especially appreciated the expeditious service, the attention to detail, including photos of the problem and the completed work. They also caulked adjacent areas that they thought might develop into future problems. I would definitely call him for any future roofing needs.

Ellis was very professional, and spent some time discussing my roof even though he could not perform the service due to the steep roof and additional equipment that would have been required.

Very reliable and punctual service. Pictures were taken of every problem area of roof. All openings and crevices were sealed. He even fixed the flashing where the squirrels had gotten in the eaves, and haven't had a problem since.

He was very prompt, courteous, and professional in his work. As well, he was very reasonable in his fees, especially given his quick response to my call. I highly recommend his services!

He called to get directions, showed up on time and used his ownj ladder to get on the roof. After touringf the roof, he told me his suggestions and left. He was very polite.

Ellis called within a few hours of me placing an online service request on his website. He came out the next day (Christmas Eve) and was able to come about an hour before schedule but he called to confirm first which was much appreciated. His work was excellent, he was able to use the existing shingles I had plus was able to blend the standard gray shingles he had with him. He also performed a routine inspection and resealed the vent pipes and chimney. I was impressed by his timing, quality of work and his pricing. I would recommend him to anybody and will surely use him for any future roofing work.

Good description of roof status and lots of pics. He advised on some chimney work that needed done, but was not trying to get the business. The only reason for the B is it appears that with the last rain, the skylight is leaking. Will have to wait for another rain to confirm.

We took advantage of an Angie's List coupon deal that included a roof inspection and minor repair package. I purchased the coupon, made an appointment and the service provider came out without delay or difficulty. They repaired the roof leaks and reported my roof as below-average condition. They provided some emailed photographs of the repaired flashings and offered the services of a partner company who could help me with insurance claims for the roof as a whole. All our contact by was email, and we never spoke by phone or in person. This would have been nice however.

Ron was great - cam out as promised and checked my entire roof and also sent me a complete set of roof photos for documentation. Went perfect.

It went very well. The company sealed these areas and surveyed the rest of the roof. They emailed us photos and a summary report when they were done.

We had signed up for Ellis Roofing to inspect the roof before another winter several months before the storm. After the storm hit July 20, we called for an inspection of the damage. He arrived when he said, was polite and professional. He took pictures of the damage and gave them to us (email). We (at the time) expected him to do some minor roof repair, which he did not do. It may have been that there was too much damage (we did end up having to replace the roof due to the storm), but we expected more feedback and advice from the inspection.

Brought a big deal for this roofer to check on potential leaking roof. He came in on time and provided details on the affected area. Got the quote 3 days later for resurfacing the potential leaking shingles that he said the big deal coupon would not covered. Price was over our budget, therefore did not use this roofer.

made appt, roofer showed up.....took pictures, emailed to me, we reviewed them, he pointed out what he could fix and gave report on quality , wear and tear on roof, etc. completed work, sent pictures and gave info on life of roof..... very pleased much cheaper than new roof......suggested chimney repair needed

He did it quickly, was very responsive, and best of all - didn't use it as an excuse to push me to replace my roof. He's a professional and he did the job I paid him to do. Good experience!

Mr. Smith was willing to come to my home on a Saturday to do the roof inspection. He was punctual, professional and courteous. I would use this company again if I have any problems in the future.

He came quickly and did a good job. I had him repair several broken shingles and didn’t try to up-sell me or do more than what was necessary.
