TERRIBLE. This will go down as the worst move in my history. - I was told the movers would be two “able bodied men” and that they would bring the dollies and blankets and wrap needed to move our home, and that they would disassemble and reassemble everything needed. Didn’t have enough blankets and had to use our personal ones. They had enough wrap but didn’t know how and when to use it. Furniture items were not wrapped correctly even when we told them to wrap them. Refrigerator Damaged. They tried to get it through the archway door opening and the bottom was clearly too wide. When they tried to force it through, they dented the bottom door severely. I told them to stop as they were crushing the stainless door. Then they attempted to lift it over the kitchen bar. I stopped them again and removed the door myself as they didn’t know how to do so. Cobalt Tool box was brand new and somehow ended up being BENT and the lid will not shut and the top is bent on both sides. It will not sit flat so the whole thing is twisted somehow. Marble topped Dresser was dropped in the yard crushing the marble. I warned them it was very heavy and two people should be handling it. Despite my warning, one man attempted to move it alone resulting in dropping it off the moving dolly. 55” Samsung TV remote was plastic wrapped to the front of the LED panel and crushed it to the point of shattering the LED screen. We saw him place the remote on the screen and told him not to do that. When we walked away, he did it anyway. Queen sized mattress was punctured and now has a hole the size of golf ball. Because it was not wrapped before it was loaded or moved. Living room TV stand scratched and dented in many places, removing the paint in those areas. AND, the shelf holding pieces were lost somewhere because they didn’t wrap it or secure the door. So those pieces fell out and were not secured. We had two physical bodies and one of them was ill or challenged. He was sitting a lot, and even laying in the back of the Ryder truck moaning. At one point I asked the other mover if we should call 911. One man did most of the work and the other one was about half time. And when the other one WAS doing something, he dropped things and did it wrong. The only reason they were paid the night of the move was because the superintendent Promised to come and “assess damages” and never showed and never would return phone calls or texts. So we called the original person I booked with and he got angry and told me to just send pictures of the damage and that the superintendent was just very busy. He was angry and defensive. In most cases, everything that was disassembled, was reassembled by US and not them. After 13 hours of moving, they finally just finished unloading and by then it was after 11pm so they just left. We were not going to pay any more hours for assembly. We had to recommend things be disassembled in some cases. Or it would have been moved without disassembly.

*WARNING* Never hire Able Body Movers from Mesquite. I hired them to come move on Sunday 6/4 between 1pm and 4pm. After being told several different times, they finally showed up at 5pm and started moving my stuff. When they were about 3/4 done, it starts pouring down rain and they have to wait in their truck. After about 40 minutes, we decide to just take what we have loaded to the new house and they will have to come back tomorrow, which I'll have to pay an additional $140 for. We are told by the movers AND the man on the phone (Luis) that we would only be paying for 2 hours, and not for the time spent waiting on the rain. As they are finishing unloading the truck, Luis decides to DRIVE his *** to my new house and say that we are now going to be charged for 3 hours ($230), which includes the time in the rain, plus $140 tomorrow for 2 hours to get the rest of the stuff. So I argue that this is not what we were told by the movers or by him over the phone, and he decides he's going to call the police on me! Because guess what. He has a piece of paper that says the start time and finish time, and doesn't have anything written down about the time we waited for the rain... Now do you want to know why Luis was so hasty to call the police on me after he LIED TO ME several times about what was discussed on the phone? Because when I set the appointment, I asked the Groupon price ($158) and the price if I didn't go through Groupon which was $140. I was told not to go through Groupon, so I didn't. (Y'all remember that post, right??) Well when they showed up, they kept quoting us the Groupon price so I HAD to call Luis the jerk and explain to him that I DIDNT go through Groupon so I needed the $140 price. He argued with me about that $18. He said the flat rate is $158 even if we don't go through Groupon. What? So anyway. His pride was super hurt so he decided to go out of his way, come to my house, threaten me with the police in order to feel better about his poor crushed ego. Even though I begged him to PLEASE call the cops on me, my "man friend" that was here with me decided he didn't want to bail me out of jail and just paid the $230. So now I still have a LOT of stuff left at my old house and I'll be dammed if I'd ever hire these money hungry jerks again, so it looks like I'll be using my super gecko muscles to move my own **** stuff! I tried explaining to the man that had they showed up between their CONTRACTED time, the rain wouldn't have been an issue. So basically, we have to suffer because we didn't force these NICE movers to move our stuff and endanger themselves while it was pouring outside. I hope this post goes viral because Luis the jerk REFUSED to contact the owner of the company after I asked several times to speak to them.

It was horrible. After all was said and done I did pay them for the work they did. My understanding was that they would cover the cost of the damage as a separate item. That was my mistake. I should not have paid them for the work that they did and that would have covered us for the minimal coverage that we accepted. We ended up taking Vidal Thompson, owner of Able Body Moving Pros, and won the civil case. He now has a judgement to pay us and we have yet to see any money. Stay away from this mover as he will not honor his work or committments.
Description of Work: Damage was done to several of our big items. The refrigerator, the washing maching and the stand up freezer. Dents, scratches, dings and major broken parts were done. They also knocked off chunks from our walls. We did not sign up for insurance but accepted the price per pound as minimal coverage.

1 of the two movers told us this was his first &only time to work for them for some extra cash. They called him because their regular crew partied too hard the night before.Other mover got a call about 4 hours into the move. His mom had a medical emergency. He never did any more work after this. This left 1 guy and the supervisor to do rest. Supervisor had a broken foot and in a medical boot. They spent about 1 hour re-arranging the truck after realizing that it was WAY to small &that they had wasted too much space.I asked about 3 hours into the move if the truck would be large enough, because it obviously was not(and I don't move for a living.)He assured me it was large enough.I'm not the professional,I believed him.Took them almost 1.5 hour to drive a 30miles.During this time they picked up a 2nd mover to replace the1with a sick mom.Not sure why I had to pay for that!NOT a professional moving company!Thieves in more ways than 1! Hide valuables&be ready to pay premium for terrible service.
Description of Work: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!deal was $169 for2guys&4 hours of moving. I expected to pay for over 4 hours at the rate of $89 per hour. I didn't expect to have to rent a truck and move30%of my things the next day. Basic run down..called to book...told them 4 bedroom house...2300 sqft. In a much smaller temp residence with a 10x15 storage 3 miles away from home. Day of service. Took 9 hours...only got boxes, living room,2 queen mattress Sets,3twin mattress sets,1 dresser mirror, side table,2 side chairs,1 lingerie chest,1 small chest of drawers, fridge.I rented a truck the next day&moved dining room, beds, chest of drawers,dresser,tvs.Used1of about 20 moving blankets. All my furniture was NASTYdirty&dresser scratched. Scratched brand new wood floors by putting a couch down and shoving against wall. STOLE a pair of name brand shoes. Company response to complaint....basically they are cheap& you get what you pay for. I paid $683. There is so much more, but out of characters.

I moved within six miles of my previous residence. The guys who did the move were Chris and Luis. They worked great together as a team. Both were great guys and very professional and courteous. They handled all the things with great care and patience. I recommend them both and they both deserve a raise. Anyhow, they were punctual and they were quick. I moved from the second floor to the third floor. The loading from second floor went easy and they handled things carefully. They were relatively fresh at that point so it's understandable that they would be at their best. Then while unloading it became difficult because they were worn out and they had to carry things to the third floor. This is when I look at how professional someone really is and how careful they are at this point. Even at this point they were courteous, professional and placed things carefully and in the location I wanted them. So they did a great job and I would use them again if I moved in the future. I hope this review helps.
Description of Work: They provided me with a truck and two movers.
