Everything went extremely well! They were actually recommended by another plumbing company I called first but they could not schedule me in. The water heater expired in the morning and I began calling for an available plumber. Baker Brothers was able to come to our home around noon. The two men who arrived were very knowledgeable and professional in their work. They were able to remove the old water tank with the water to the house being off only a brief period of time. The new one was an excellent model which I believe they carry exclusively. This meant they had extremely good knowledge of how it performs. They reviewed the work they had done with me. They explained the warranty as well as the best methods I could use to maintain the new water heater and get the longest life from it. They also told me there would be a city inspector coming out to review their work which he did and gave it high marks. I signed up for an annual service checkup with Baker Brothers for plumbing which they have already performed. I will definitely call on Baker Brothers for all my plumbing needs and emergencies.

Third time using Baker Brothers and will use them again. Water was pooling in my yard. Baker Brothers came out and determined the leak was under the house. Steve came out and worked all day locating the leak, accessing the pipes and repairing the leak. Between Steve's skill and good fortune Steve had to bust only one hole in the concrete in order to repair the leak. He did an outstanding job.

The connections were made beautifully, but the plumber used a white caulk on dark brown counter tops. Not only was the sealant ugly, but did not form a water-tight seal. I insisted that the plumber use a clear sealant I had purchased. He used it around the sink and stovetop, but not in the drain or pipes. Two months later, the faucet had to be tightened. No charge. I am beginning to see that the sealant in the drain is dissolving when water is left in the sink for an extended time.

We have a gas fireplace and the pilot light went out. We know how to light a pilot light but we couldn't get the glass front off. It was a house that was new to us. We hadn't worked with it before and apparently in Texas, you have to call a plumber to light your pilot light. That was new to us. They gave us a quote of $39 and told us that if he needed to charge us anymore, then he would tell us before he did the work. He really had trouble getting the glass off and my husband helped him. My husband pretty much told him what to do. It didn't seem like he lit pilot lights but he said that in Texas that is what they have to do. It took him a long time. He was here for 30-45 minutes. When he handed us the bill, it was for $268. We told him that we were not paying that amount and he said he would charge us $139. My husband said no that we were told it would be $39 or he would give us a quote before the work was done. He said okay and it would be $39.

Had service call due to my water heater pilot light would not stay lit. The technichian could not get it lit either. He then spent a lot of time telling me how old my unit was, how I purcharsed the worst possible unit and that I needed to spend around $4000 and just let him put in a good unit. He told me I was wrong when I told him the unit wasnt that old. After he left and I refused his services, I called the Whirlpool warranty line because it should still be covered. She walked me through resetting my unit and it is still fine over a year later. Everyone remember to vacuum the dust out of the water heater closet, it will stop you from having to deal with people like the technichian who came to my home. I called his supervisor to complain and she said she would look into it, Never heard back from them, but they sure cashed my check.

First, let me apologize that you had an issue with the technician. I can assure you that is not how we do business. I reviewed your work order from our visit on September 14, 2012. I see where the technician gave you the options to either order the part from Whirlpool (since we do not carry that brand), or to replace the existing water heater with a new one. The price given to replace the water heater was $1,202.55, which included an 8 year warranty on the tank, parts, and labor. I also apologize that you never received a phone call from a manager. We pride ourselves on Customer Satisfaction and I will definitely look into this issue further. If you have any further concerns, please call me at 214-324-8811. My name is Tamara and I am the Customer Service Manager.

Service provider was prompt, arrived when scheduled. Quickly diagnosed the problem but seemed reluctant to drive across town for the part needed to complete the repair. We had company coming into town that day so we needed the guest bathroom shower available. He completed the work in a professional manner. I have used Baker Brothers in the past and probably will use them again in the future. While their prices are a bit high, they are always prompt and do a good job.

I had priced around and pricing varied, but they offered a fixed rate for up to 8 hours. They were who my insurance ocmpany used when I had 2 slab leaks a couple years ago. At that time I also had them do the repairs (which is a separate service and fee). They are not the low cost provider, but they are dependable and I trust them. Wore plastic shoe covers anytime they entered the house, ran tarp all through the house so nothing was tracked in or out, and even went above and beyond to try to get one of my non-working pressure assisted commodes working. I feel I got what I wanted and needed. Plumbing tends to be pricey and I knew this would be no different, but at least I trust that what is said needs to be done, is what needs to be done.
Description of Work: Slab leak/isolation after another plumber's hydrostatic testing indicated a sewer break. Saul and Josh were on time, polite, neat and efficient. They used camera, float, ball whatever else is needed to isolate the slab leaks - turns out there are 2 two in the house and one from the house to the sewer (lucky me).

I am unbelievably disappointed. The plumber cleared out the drain line and left a huge mess in my bathroom. He also sold my unsuspecting wife a "special" chemical for "keeping the lines clear" for $50. He also tried to charge me an additional $250 for the stem for the drain stop. He said I could go to home depot if I didn't like the price. Needless to say this was an awful experience and I will never use them again.

Thank you for taking the time to talk to me. As explained on the phone, the maid had removed the products from under the sink prior to our technicians arrival. The technician let her know when he was finished with the job and she agreed to put the products back where they belonged. The chemical you are referring to, is called Bio Smart. This product helps with build up in the drain lines and helps prevent further stoppages. As we were only called out to unstop the lavatory, when the technician saw the disassembled pop up assembly laying on the counter, he gave a price to replace the entire assembly. I am glad we were able to get your lavatory unstopped and working again. We definitely appreciate your business and should you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

In all, both visits took less than 4 hours. I called Baker Bros. first thing in the morning, and they were able to send a plumber right away after I explained the situation (flash flood in my living room, water running down the wall in the utility room, which I thought was due to a burst pipe). The gentleman, David, called when he was on his way, was very nice and professional, answered all of my questions, and showed me how to turn my water on and off so next time I won't have to call the city to do it. The a/c guy, Robert, was also very nice and professional. He also explained everything clearly, took the time to show me what was wrong and explained how he was fixing it, showed me the location of the a/c drain and told me how to keep it clean so it won't back up again.
Description of Work: The plumber found the source of the water in my walls and on my floors was a clogged A/C drain pipe and snaked the pipe. Was very thorough in inspecting everything, even checked on the roof to make sure it wasn't a leaky roof. He then had the A/C guy come out, who was able to replace the malfunctioning sensor that should have prevented the flooding.

The appointment was scheduled for between 8 and 9. At 9:20 the office called to apologize and say that the assigned tech had called in sick, but they could have a substitute there within half an hour. This can happen, but I would have appreciated an earlier call. When the replacement plumber came he was very courteous and listen while I explained what I wanted. I have one section in the corner of my shower were the grout is always moldy and I was concerned about an interior water leak. In addition, because the faucet had been dripping, I wanted a new one installed and had already purchased the replacement faucet. The plumber explained that he would need to cut into the dry wall in the adjoining closet to see if there was an leak or water damage. This was fine and certainly easier than removing the tile. I did receive a written estimate before he began the work. However, did not say that I would be responsible for then repairing the dry wall, which I discovered only after he left. To be fair, this was written on the estimate, but it would have been nice to have had it mentioned as well. Luckily there was no leak inside the wall and the new faucets were installed and are working. He did suggest a possible solution for the moldy grout which involves removing the old grout and replacing it with DAP.. He was worked about two - three hours. The price was somewhat higher than I anticipated, but overall I'm satisfied with the work and would probably use them again.

Got a recommendation to use their services. Apparently the phone numbers on Angie's List are not working. Had to go into their website and call the number there (I hope it is the same company though). I am a property owner and my tenant called and asked for a plumber service for what seems to be a problem with the hot water in the bathtub. Bakers wanted me to fill in a form with my credit card info and other details otherwise they will not come to the house. Unfortunately, I am not providing any contractor with credit card information over email/fax before they even came to the house to look at the problem and tell me they can fix it (or not). I've worked with many contractors and that is the first time ever I have heard of such a practice. This seems to me like a beginning of a nice scam to get you to pay for some service fees even if the job is not performed. Sorry! I will look elsewhere.

I do apologize that you were having issues with the phone numbers. I have checked our numbers listed with Angie's List, and they appear to be working. It is company policy that if the homeowner can not meet us at the home, then we need an authorization form signed. The reason for this form is to protect the homeowner, the tenant, and the company. If the technician were to go out and do work on the property and the homeowner had not approved it, there could be a possibility that we would not receive payment. This form can be faxed or emailed to the homeowner for approval. We ask for the credit card number to secure payment of the $39.00 trip fee in case no one is at the home when we arrive.
