Description of Work: Baker Brothers' 1st Visit - Their technician told me that my water heater needed to be replaced and that he had the one I needed in the van. I approved the quote he gave me and asked that he do the job. After he was finished and it was time for payment he told me that he replaced my 40-gallon water heater with the 50-gallon that he had with him. This didn't bother me too much although it would have been nice if he had checked with me first. Some people might not want the added expense of heating more water. I handed him a $50 coupon I had printed from Angie's list. He said "we aren't supposed to take those", but he proceeded to deduct it from the total. I took another peak at the water heater after he exited my home. I noticed water in the pan. The technician was still sitting in the van in my driveway so I walked out and questioned why there was water in the pan. He said it wasn't leaking, that he had sprayed it. I thought this was a bit odd but I said okay since I thought I had heard him using a torch and maybe he sprayed a bit of water to cool the torched area!? I really didn't know.... The next morning I checked and the pan was overflowing and leaking out the exterior exit pipe. Baker Brothers' 2nd Visit - They found that something hadn't been tightened on the top or backside the way it should have been. City Inspector's 1st Visit - The Water Heater didn't pass the inspection. Here is the reason noted on the inspection ticket: need to provide proper combustion air. hole punched in wall with much larger grill over it. wall has top plate and is full of insulation, no air flow Baker Brothers' 3rd Visit - They cut a whole in my water heater closet door in addition to the one they had already cut in the wall. City Inspector's 2nd Visit - The Water Heater didn't pass the inspection. They were supposed to have run a pipe up into the attic for combustion air. Baker Brothers' 4th Visit - Their quality control guy came out this time. I asked him if he wanted to see the Inspection Ticket the city inspector left. He said no, that he knew what needed to be done. He used a 3" pipe to the attic for combustion air. He also purchased and painted a replacement door since the original door had been cut unnecessarily. City Inspector's 3rd Visit - The Water Heater didn't pass the inspection. The Inspection ticket states: this is a 38k btu water heater...per section 304.6.1 of the ifgc need 1 sq inch per 4000 btu.....3 inch pipe provides 7.065 sq inches.....need at least 9.5 sq inches....a 4 inch pipe is required Baker Brokers' 5th Visit - Replaced the 3" pipe with a 4" pipe. City Inspector's 4th Visit - Passed the inspection I started to rate everything an F, but the water heater is working fine now and Baker Brothers did make arrangements to send someone back out the next day after each of my calls in to them. They do not deserve more than a D. My water heater replacement took 9 Visits (5 from the plumbing company and 4 from the city inspector). Can you make arrangements to take off work 9 times?

Excellent work!
Description of Work: We had a leak from our front yard faucet in November 2011 that Baker Brothers repaired and charged a very reasonable fee for. We noticed the leak returning in October 2012 and called to have them look at it. They came and told us it was still under warranty! They repaired if FREE OF CHARGE, did so within a few days and cleaned up afterward. This is the 4-5th time we have used Baker Brothers (our house is an old Money Pit) since 2007 and have ALWAYS been happy with their work, work ethic and business practices. Description of Work: Called for an estimate to replace 2 water heaters, and the man I talked to was very helpful. He explained the scope of the work well and also was somewhat flexible on the amount charged. They had an opening in 2 days and we scheduled the job to be done on a Saturday @ 10AM. The guys doing the install were running late and called to tell me, which was good customer service. Work was done and an inspection was scheduled with the city of Fort Worth. Inspection was done, and the exhaust ducts were not in compliance. I called Baker Bros and they sent the same 2 installers back out to fix the issue that same day. Overall was pleased with the service. Price was lower than the first estimate I got, then again they were somewhat flexible with the end price. I would call Baker Bros again if I had a plumbing issue.

Description of Work: I had a pipe burst underneath the house and called them in a panic. I just chose the first name with a lot of ratings and an a on Angie's list. I am glad I did. Mark showed up quickly and immediately got to work. He looked under the house and gave me my options and saved me a little money. He was clean and we really felt like he was trying to help us.

Description of Work: Hired them to come out and snake out a drain. It is an older house and we had this issue about 3 ago. Then we hired a different company, they ran the snake through the roof vent, unclogged the drain and cleaned out the roots. Last week we hired Baker Brothers to basically perform the same task. The price was about double the cost from 3 years ago. They snaked the drain, told me there was a bow in the pipe under the house and then he wrote "NO WARRANTY" on the bill. The estimate to replace 3 - 5 feet of pipe under my pier and beam home was a little less than $950. I thought I would have some time to decide whether to fix the bow since the technician had cleaned out the line. A few days later we ran our washer and it backed up into the bathtub. Slowly the water drained out but this is not what I paid for. I called Baker Brothers and talked to a supervisor that told me the bill had the words "NO WARRANTY" and they could come back out to do the repair but otherwise I could pay to have them come back and look to see if the techican did his job properly, if he had, i would be charged another service call. I will never again have them on my properties and will not recommend them.

Though it is true that we can not warranty stoppages when there are are roots in the line and repairs that need to be made, the supervisor should have sent the technician back out there since it had only been a couple of days. Description of Work: Called to get an estimate for a sewer line replacement. Was told that they only way they would give me a quote by phone is if I submitted a copy of a previous estimate I had gotten from another plumber. So she gave me her email address and I sent her the copy. Never heard back from them at all.

We forwarded her email to the estimator on 2/28/12 and received the response back on 2/29/12. We emailed her the bid on 2/29/12 @ 9:08 am. Again, we apologize for not following up with her and letting her know the status of the bid.

Description of Work: They could not give me an estimate on the phone and charge $39 to come out and give an estimate which is appliable to the work if they do it. Made the appointment for them to come out between 8 and 9 a.m. At 8:55 I called to see where they were and they did not have me on the schedule. I told them it was difficult for me to take off work to meet them at my house. They said they could come on Saturday but that would be $99. Seems like since they messed up they could have offered to come on a Saturday at their normal rate or even not charged at all to make up for their mistake. No such offer came.

We contacted the Member and extended our apologies for what happened and for any miscommunication on our part. We determined a convenient time to schedule an appointment for the Member and made some additional adjustments on their behalf. In discussing this matter with our call representatives, there was a misunderstanding on the part of the representative initially handling the call in thinking the Member was going to call back to schedule. When the Member called back anticipating to see us shortly, another representative handled the call, and although they tried to assist the Member, they should have made more inquiries to see how we could have been more accommodating to the Member's schedule under the circumstances. We appreciate the Member allowing us the opportunity to rectify this matter to their satisfaction and allow us the privilege to provide them with our service. Baker Brothers Plumbing will continue to place customer satisfaction as our company mission and as a critical focus in the training of our employees now and in the future.

Description of Work: While installing a new washing machine cold water valve in my home I ran across a leak in the wall below the valve box. After cutting back the drywall I discovered a failed solder joint. I called Baker Brothers and they sent a plumber out. I have no issue with the work.

Description of Work: Baker Bros. beat a previous quote from Rescue Router by aproximately $800.00 and found that there was only one break in the line not two as quoted by Rescue Router. Baker was exceptionally courtious, prompt and did excellent work. Rescue Router was not polite and had a contract releasing them from any liability of any kind. I highly recommend Baker.
