Description of Work: My toilet rocked And I couldn't get it to tighten down. I called Baker Bro's and they were at my house the next day. When he pulled the toilet the sewer pipe was broken about two feet under the slab. They were equipped to jack hammer through the slab, replace the pipe, cement a new one in, and re install the toilet and clean up the bathroom in the same day. The reason I rated them a C on price was replacement of a flush valve added $106.25 and I furnished the valve from American Standard (Warranty replacement). For you veterans, I did get a $50.00 discount.

Description of Work: I called for a sewer cleaning service, jet wash and video recording. Dispatch set it up. Then Dispatch called back twice asking what I wanted done, it sounded like they were unaware a service call had already been scheduled. One Tech showed on time. He was unaware I had scheduled a complete sewer cleaning. He did not have the equipment or a helper to do the job requested. He quoted a price to clean out the clog twice what I had paid another company a few months before. I paid the trip charge and sent him away.

Description of Work: They fixed a faucet in our bathtub. This was our first time using their services. Everything turned out fine. They were very helpful. The gentleman who came was a very nice person and found a solution that was not the most expensive option.

Description of Work: We are in the quoting process now. Wes came out and spent al the time with us we wanted, answering our questions. Wes was very professional. We find no fault in Wes. After having been burned by other contractors who caused as much damage as they repaired. We asked about their insurance and bonding. Wes referred us to the Baker Brother's Office. Following advice on Angie's List, our intent was to get policy info on the Insurance & Bonding and call those providers to make sure Baker Brothers' coverage covered the scope of the work to be done. We were shocked by the replies to our questions. The employee who answered the phone told us they do not give that information outand went on to say "We have beenin business 45 years." We were not asking how long they had been in business. We wanted to see proof of protections they promise to customers. She then transferred us to a manager. The manager repeated the 45 years statement. They really have that statement memorized. Then she had the nerve to say phrases like "well of course we have the coverage, but we don't need copies of that floating around" and "we only show that coverage to people we're doing work for". She couldn't understand that verifying the coverage is part of our selection process for the job. We then explained that it seemed like a waste of time to hire them, get the coverage documents when they arrive, and then possibly send them away emptyhanded if the coverage can't be verified. Then she got mad. "Oh no...if we show up, we're getting paid." We knew something was very wrong when she concluded by saying, "if you can't trust us to have the appropriate coverage, then you can't trust us to do the work. Hire someone else." My mortgage broker puts everything in writing instead of asking me to trust him. So does my baker. My mechanic. My car salesman. Since when do plumbers get an exemption?
