Description of Work: My water heater started leaking early Sat AM. I called my usual plumber I like to use, but they were in training for the weekend. I got on Angie's List to search other plumbers. I called one plumber with A+ rating that worked on Saturday, but they couldn't make it out to my area until Monday. I had seen Baker Bros commercials many times on TV. I gave them a call when they opened. They said they could come out the same day. They also were able to walk me through shutting off the water to the water heater. The girls who answered the phone were VERY nice, professional and patient - even when I called 3x. I was the 2nd call that morning. He arrived in a reasonable time. My house is old, so my water heater and the surrounding pipes were not up to code. The price he quoted me was high (ouch), but probably a fair price. I was able to go to Home Depot to get my own water heater, although couldn't be warrantied by Baker Bros (completely understandable). Getting my own save me approx $600 from what he quoted me. But no problem, he started the work and when I got back with my water heater, he installed it like nothing. He work was very neat and he thoroughly cleaned up as he went along and afterwards. You would have never known he was there, it was so clean. He got my water heater installed and got the materials in to bring it up to code. They arranged for inspector to come out on Tuesday. At the beginning of my meeting with him, I asked for discount for using Angie's List and gave him coupon code. It wasn't reflected on my invoice (bummer), so I will use it next time. Overall, it was a good experience for such a lousy surprise on a Saturday morning. Also, he provided us with good info on getting the water smell out and cleaned up. I will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: The employees were very professional and overall did a good job. They installed a whole new heat pump/system in one day as requested. Unfortunately it stopped working at 3:00 a.m. It was reported at approx. 8:00 a.m. but no one came to fix it until 2:00 p.m. - they said they were short handed. The person who came out did a connection and then it worked fine. A day or so later we requested someone come out to adjust the dampers for the heat distribution and he made sure it was balanced before he left. I'm disappointed that the sales person never called to check on how it was working. No one from the company followed up after it was all done to confirm it was still working okay and that we were satisfied. It would have been a nice touch...

Description of Work: ended up replacing a toilet on the latest trip. We have used them several times though and have been happy each time. The best ones are never the cheapest but end up saving you money in the long run.

Description of Work: They replaced my hot water heater. They showed up when promised and performed the service quickly and efficiently, made arrangements for the inspection and removed the old water heater.

Description of Work: They came when they said, fixed the problem and left. 500bux is a lot for a new garbage disposal but installation required removing the old, leaking one. So, a bit expensive but the problem was gone before the leak could do any real damage.

Description of Work: This company did not correct my plumbing problem. (Water from the drain pipes filling up the sinks,toilets, tub, shower.) The plumber thought the drain pipes were clogged. Over the course of two years, I had 3 different plumbing companies try to solve this problem and none of them were successful. The problem was with the air conditioning moisture/water/vent system. A different plumber came out and immediately identified/corrected the problem. My total cost with all 4 plumbing companies was over $400. | |

Description of Work: After calling multiple plumbers, Baker Bros was able to come out on short notice on a Saturday to fix our main line clog. Since it was during the day, we were only charged a normal trip charge - instead of an after hours charge. Worker was prompt, courteous, and explained things well. Price was more than expected, and could have escalated if he needed to look further to find the clog. But, he did give me a first time customer discount, which was more than the Angie's list coupon.

Description of Work: Leak detection and repair. Turned out to be a hot water line slab leak. They found the leak quickly, then were able to jackhammer up the foundation, repair the leak and replace the concrete the same day. They were on time, friendly and efficient. Fortunately, I had signed up for their "Family Plan." That saved me 15%, and on a job that big, it was very welcome.
