They called to set up a 2:00 p appointment for Friday, 09/18/2015, but called backed on the 19th to say they had to go to a funeral and would not be here until 4:00 p. They fixed the front and back doors so I can open them, then said they would be back on the 25th to finish up the rest of my list. They were gone from my home before 5:30 p. I have heard nothing more from them and do not have a phone number so I can contact them. I am very frustrated and do not want to use them again.

Erik and Karmarco did a good job with putting together the Lowe's Heartland outbuilding kit that I bought. It took a little longer then I thought it would (about 12.5 hours with Erik and his apprentice Karmarco working on it) but I have a feeling that it wasn't as easy of a job as Lowe's or Heartland says it is - which is supported by some of the reviews I read as well. They were both polite and professional in all their interactions with me. Once they showed up at the house they were diligent and thorough in their work, even through 95+ degree heat. I did find a few nails and cigarette butts lying around when they were done with the project but other than that you wouldn't have known they were there. No trash or anything like that left behind. Also, the owner, Willard Seals, came out a couple of times to ensure that I was happy with everything. He was pleasant to deal with as well and appeared to me to be a man of high integrity. Bottom line is that the craftsmanship was very good and I would definitely call The Personal Touch Contractors company again for handyman services. Good job guys. :)

We purchased the "$250 for Four Hours of Handyman Service" on August 12 and scheduled an appointment for August 26 at 11:30 a.m. Around noon, when the handyman failed to show up, I called him and learned that he was working at a home that was to go on the market the next day, that he had forgotten to call me, and that he would not be able to make it to my house that day. Luckily I had scheduled some other work for that day, so I didn't completely waste a day off from work. We rescheduled for September 16 at 10:00 a.m., which was the next day I could fit into my schedule. We sent an email the night before to confirm the time, to which he responded, "confirm." He called at 9:03 a.m. the morning of September 16 to let me know that he would be late due to traffic. He arrived at about 11:15 a.m. and I showed him the top 4 items on our prioritized list: a leaky faucet on one sink, a faulty shut-off valve on another sink, an electric outlet that wasn't working properly, and the pocket door that was sticking. He determined that the copper plumbing under the sinks would need to be replaced. We agreed to replace the plumbing under four sinks and scheduled the plumbing subcontractor for the following Friday at noon. The handyman quickly fixed the electric outlet, then set to work on the pocket door, where he spent the rest of his time. He was able to repair the pocket door so that it works much better than it did. It still rubs/sticks a bit, most likely due to the age of the door and the pocket that the door slides into. He cleaned up everything before he left. I took more time off from work the following Friday to wait for the plumbing subcontractor to arrive at noon. The plumber finally arrived on Friday at about 2:00 p.m. He inspected the plumbing and informed us that there was no need to replace all the pipes. It would cost us a substantial amount of money when all that needed to be done was to turn the water off at the street and replace the gaskets and seals. The plumber called the handyman to inform him of the situation, then left. In summary, we paid $250 to repair a pocket door and an electrical outlet. The handyman was very nice and personable, and we are happy with those repairs that were made, but the wasted time and missed appointments makes me hesitant to rehire this company for future service. And we still can't use the sinks, which was our number one priority in hiring a handyman in the first place.

Eric arrived at the designated time and took an assessment of all the things asked of him. He went to the store to purchase the necessary supplies. He did a great job and completed all the things I asked of him. The vent hood installation was VERY complex and involved cutting through the stone backsplash and the exterior brick. It turned out looking very nice. It took about an hour longer than I had anticipated but Willard (the owner of the company) was very gracious and we worked it out. I would definitely recommend Eric and Willard to others and will use them myself for future home jobs that come up. Eric was very personable and professional and even came back on his own time to do some final touch ups which we really appreciated. All in all, it was a great experience!

Willard had done work for me before, so this was a repeat call as I was very happy with his prior work. Getting to do the work took some time because Willard is really busy. But the sink replacement was not an emergency and therefore we were fine with it. Willard did come to replace the sink and realized that some granite had to be cut. He called in his other work buddy to get it cut and did a good quality job overall. I will call Willard back for additional work related to exterior painting etc once the heat cools down. Overall I am satisfied with the work that was done.

The work was completed in a professional manner. I was especially pleased with the detail and care the contractor went to in order to match existing paint and make the repairs. Ironically, ceilings and walls had been worked on by other contractors and the quality was unacceptable. Personal Touch corrected the bad work that had previously been done in an excellent manner.
Description of Work: I purchased days of labor and provided materials to repair ceilings in several rooms, completely paint a combination pantry/laundry room including cabinets and shelves and repair a major defect due to water damage on one exterior wall that entailed replacing dry wall and painting.

Let me first say, we love Willard! What a nice man! In fairness to everyone, it took awhile. He's very busy (I get it, he's good), so right now, he may not be the best choice for an EMERGENCY, but if you want it done well and can be a little flexible, he's the go to guy. Details: Leak in master bathroom. Turns out, it's been there awhile and it's twofold: roof/soffet and window casing. Window broke in the fix. We split that cost...fair, because it had to be fixed regardless. The job was also during the incredible amount of rain we received in May and June. Willard figured out where the leaks were and gave us his plan of attack. It took longer and cost more than originally thought, also fine because it was more than first believed was the issue. Willard rebuilt the entire window box and what really amazed me--he matched the interior wall texture (french chalet/skip trowel) to perfection. I was really worried about that and it is PERFECT. Willard is a perfectionist and very reasonable in pricing. In my business, I live by the adage "good, fast, cheap...you can pick two." Willard is good and he is worth every penny, but if you are going to be really hard pressed for a timeline, you might want to pay more and sacrifice quality. I'll take Willard every time. My husband got a little frustrated in the timeframe, but he totally got it at the end: Willard is wanted and very busy--there's a reason!!

Mr. Willard replaced a few ceiling lights, added 8 leg extensions to our very heavy King adjustable bed base, connected wires of the interior speaker system in our new house, and inspected but was unable to fix two soft touch/close cabinets. The most time was spent on figuring out the wiring for the existing interior surround system that was installed by the builder and original owners of the home (built in 2011). I also needed 3 motion activated security lights installed but this was postponed for an additional week as a rehire to be added to more things we needed done. I clearly must have underestimated the time needed to complete these projects. A recurring theme on my part. The contractor and his assistant did a nice job with the things they did complete.
Description of Work: I had several projects planned but I suppose I was too ambitious because only several were completed. The actual work done was quite good but I needed more stuff done so I rehired the contractor again for a longer period 1 week later.

In addition to the above accomplished tasks, we had several leftover tasks that remained incomplete on this second appointment: 1. Cabinet shelving repair- soft close replacement on two cabinets; 2. Replacement (not new installation) of 3 motion activated security lights; 3. Re-staining of two wooden walls, 4. Painting of a small section of an eave Again like the time 1 week before, they did a fine job on the completed tasks. I did not accurately anticipate the amount of time needed for two men to complete all the things we needed done.
Description of Work: 1. Retained my the exterior wood of our garage door. This took most of the scheduled time. 2. Repaired a single out of place board on our wood fence. 3. Helped me reassemble an IKEA bed that was previously assembled but was disassembled for the move. 4. Installed a replacement kitchen faucet. 5. Replaced an accent light bulb.

He was 4 hours late to the first appointment to go over the repairs needed. He did call several times saying he was going to be late. The subsequent appointment he was 2 hours late. Again he called. When he showed up he did not have the materials needed to make the repairs and we had to go over everything again. It was like we never had the previous appointment. He got all the tasks done except one because we couldn't find the siding we needed. He did come back for me on a Saturday evening and finish up the siding on very short notice. I had ask him for an invoice several times and tell him what to put on it (proof for the buyer that the repairs were made).

I purchased the $200 voucher for 5 hrs of handyman work as I have a long list of "To Dos" around the house as any homeowner would so I thought this was a great deal and opportunity to get some things done in the house. I sent a list of things I would like done in the house so Mr. Willard had an idea of the task. He never did respond to confirm what his services could do on the list or not until the day of the initial appointment on 5/15/2015 which did not actually happen because Mr. Willard contacted me via Angies list message inbox at the time of the appointment to ask me to call him and told me he was going to be 3 hrs late which would be around 5:00 pm that he would arrive at my house to put in 5 hrs. I was extremely annoyed that I took off from work early to be home for the appointment and I told Mr. Willard that it was entirely too late since it would mean he's at my house until 10 pm if he get's here at 5. Mr. Willard was very apologetic about everything and agreed that it was too late to come out at 5:00 and offered to give me an additional 3 hrs making the deal 8hrs of work for $200 which was good. The rescheduled date was 5/21/2015 for the same time 2:00 pm in which I left work early again to be here and Mr. Willard did the same thing again and showed up at 4:50 pm so obviously appointment time means nothing however I allowed it since I just really wanted some of the work done. Again, he was apologetic and had some excuses which I didn't care about since this is the second time and I think that reflects as a lack of respect my time. Mr. Willard had the list of tasks and asked which ones were the top priority so I advised: 1. kitchen sink slow drainage, 2. dry vent hose connection, 3.6 window blinds and screendoor blinds replacement, 4. 2 light fixtures replaced, 5.over the range microwave install (these were the most important on list). Mr. Willard checked the sink plumbing and advised he could not fix and I needed to call a plumber ok fine (side note: I fixed the slow drainage myself a couple days later with a little elbow grease, plunger, hot water and Draino so plumber needed). He installed the screendoor blinds which it took him 1 hr. for whatever reason and installed it 3 1/2 inches too high off the ground, I told him to leave it as is so he can get to so he can get to something else as time is going by. He replaced the 4 blinds (didn't get to the other 2), checked the dryer vent hose connection which he advised that he would need to cut into the Sheetrock due to the defective way the vent was installed within the wall by the builder which I understand he is correct on that as it really was not done right. At 8:00 pm he started preparing to leave so I asked him if he could stay a little later to do some other things as to be quite honest when you move past the initial things that went wrong on his part I actually liked his personality through some small talk during the time he was here for 3 hrs. Anyhow, Mr. Willard advised that it would be best to come back to finish the other things as he was tired "and when your tired you make mistakes" and I agreed since he really did look tired and don't want any mistakes. He wanted to come back the next day in the morning that Friday however I had to be at work so that time didn't work for me. I asked what other time he could do and he told me he would contact me which was fine and he left on a good note with me. Let me just say I waited to give a review of the services on Angies just to give Mr. Willard some time and opportunity to fully redeem his company as I did not want to give him a poor review based on the outcome thus far and the fact that I only got some blinds put in for $200 that I can do myself (which I ended up putting in the other 2 window blinds myself anyways) and will still need to lower the screen door blinds he put up. I waited and waited just to see how long Mr. Willard would take before he contact me to schedule time to come back and was annoyed/disappointing 21/2 weeks went by and then I reached out to him first on 6/8 to try to schedule the apt. I advised him that I just wanted to get the the 2 light fixtures and microwave installed still in boxes on the flr. since he left on 5/21 and I would have left it at that because at least that would make my voucher purchase worth it. The only time he had to offer was 6:00 pm on 6/12 which I initially said no since it soo late especially on a Friday when I have things planned. Anyhow, with much reservation I said yes to that 6:00 pm appointment because again I really wanted to at least get lights and microwave installed. On 6/12 Mr. Willard DID NOT SHOW UP or even call or email to say he could not come or to this day even reached out to me to apologize for basically standing me up. The whole ordeal is very upsetting to me and not even the common curtsey of a call/email from Mr. Willard to say anything and totally wasted my time when I had at least 5 other things I wanted to do with my Friday evening that certainly didn't include sitting around waiting for him to pull a no show....disrespectful and no way to conduct your business.... no excuse unacceptable. Ultimately out of the 5hr. handyman deal for 5 hrs at $200, I got 4 out of 6 non-custom window blinds replaced and a screen door blind replaced that I have to adjust anyways and 3 out of the 5hrs labor (not to mention the additional 3 hrs offered in good faith due to inital mishaps).

I called The Personal Touch Contractors on 5/18/15 needing to have our garage door repaired ASAP after I ran into with my car. We could not secure the garage due to the damage and were concerned about getting it repaired ASAP. I called several other contractors on Angie's List but Personal Touch was the only company that could come out on the same day and commit to completing repairs in the same day. I first met with Mr. Willard Seals who arrived within 30 minutes or so of my initial call. Mr. Seals took some pictures of the damage and arranged to have 2 other gentlemen arrive several hours later to begin the repairs. They finished the work during the same day and you can't tell our property was ever damaged. A+ for professionalism, punctuality, quality of work, and the price for the work we had done was very reasonable. We'll definitely call The Personal Touch Contractors again when we have a need.

Honorable man with a reputable and professional business. Thank you, Angie's List for helping us find him. We will never use anyone else now. He can do it all, and if he can't he will tell you who can. Quality work, and they clean up after themselves!
Description of Work: Willard and team removed an old sliding closet door in our Master Bedroom and repaired a small warped hardwood floor area. They did an exceptional job. We hired them again for more work in May 2015 for an additional cost. So far, so good there too (sconces, electrical, three panel switch w/dimmer). The rest of the second project to start this week (removal of popcorn ceiling, and updating fireplace trim). They recommended stone patio contractor who we hired and also did fabulous work. Reliable, trustworthy, loyal and dedicated to their craft... all of them. Willard associates with the finest out there. He is also very respectful of time and will call if he is running early, or late which is rare in this industry. For that alone he will get all of our jobs going forward.

AwEsOmE! ** Willard touched base with me right away to schedule - I even had to reschedule at the last minute and he was very friendly and accommodating. On the day of service Willard and his helper Lupe arrived on time and were anxious to get started to work. I gave them my list of "to-do's" and we discussed priorities. I could tell right away that Willard is the kind of Handyman I have been dreaming of! He is very meticulous in every way and he does not cut corners to get the job done quickly. His work is clean and precise and he pays attention to all of the details. Willard is in the process of training his helper Lupe. Throughout the day the two men would communicate with each other often to double check their work and lend a helping hand. Both Willard and Lupe have such a professional attitude and work ethic. I look forward to having Willard and Lupe work on many more projects in my home.

It went fine. He attached a shower unit back onto a tile wall. He replaced screws in metal strips separating carpet and tile areas. He attached a rain gauge to a fence. He attached an exhaust unit between my clothes dryer and a wall that went into the garage. He replaced a supporting post that held up the roof of my patio. It turned out to be more of a job than I thought, but it was necessary since that end of the porch was sagging. Previous repair people had not done a thorough job. He bought materials for that job plus for an extension of my gutters across the back of my house. Therefore, it cost more than I expected, but he was capable and I am glad to have the work done.

I've used them before. Their prices are excellent. He's inexpensive but he also pays attention to detail and he wants to do a good job. He's hung up light fixtures, chandeliers and put in recessed lighting in the past. An electrician would charge you charge you $100 to put one light fixture up. I paid him $250 and I had him out here for the whole day. To have some company like the Geek Squad to come out and do our TV wall mount, it's going to cost about $400 or $500 to do that. But that was all included in the price. So I get maybe $1,000 work of work done for $250.
Description of Work: He wallmounted the TV and hung up four or five heavy mirrors and pictures.
