THAT GREEN GUY

An independent engineer recommended that I install an active french drain system to alleviate excess moisture under my foundation. I contacted Don Turnage (That Green Guy) and he came out and designed and installed an active (with pump) French Drain system. His analysis confirmed the engineer's recommendations for depth, type of drain, etc. Don knows French Drains like few other people, and his passion for solving drainage problems is evident. The crew did a good job of installing the French Drain. It definitely has removed a considerable amount of moisture and prevents additional water from migrating under my foundation. It is too early to determine if this is completely solving my moisture problem as water moves extremely slowly in our black clay, but I know the French Drain is helping.

Don is very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time diagnosing our drainage problems. But when it came time to install the system he was not there to supervise his crew, none of whom spoke English. They cut a buried power line to our detached garage and damaged a sprinkler valve box. Don said fixing this was our responsibility because we didn't have it marked before he started work. He didn't mention getting anything marked until after the damage was done. After the job was done I asked Don twice to come out and look at a drain that didn't seem to be draining properly. One time he answered but he never came by. When I had a sprinkler system installed they had everything marked and when they damaged something they fixed it. I expected the same thing for this job and was surprised when Don didn't mention I needed to get things marked and didn't take responsibility for the damage his unsupervised crew did.
